The 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Bob 114 is the latest addition to the 2021 H-D Softail line-up that combines modern firepower together with the classic American cruiser styling that’s considered iconic to many folks around the globe.

For the new Street Bob, the biggest upgrade has to be its Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engine that bumps to capacity from 1,753cc to 1,868cc and priced at RM101,900.

This bigger capacity v-twin engine now offers 92hp and 161Nm of torque, which H-D has stated to be 9% quicker from 0-100km/h and 13% faster from 100km/h-130km/h compared to the previous Street Bob 107. You’ll also get to enjoy this with your pillion as the 2021 Street Bob 114 comes with a pillion seat and footpegs (unlike the previous model).

Meanwhile, Harley-Davidson Malaysia also introduced the Low Rider S and Softail Standard priced at RM106,900 and RM89,900 respectively.

The Low Rider S is built around the Softail chassis but further enhanced by premium suspension components tuned for aggressive riding.

The interested party can take a closer look at the all-new 2021 models at every Harley-Davidson authorized dealership in Malaysia via an Open House event from 27-28 March 2021.

Harley-Davidson Street Bob 114 paling mencuri tumpuan apabila dinaik taraf dengan enjin Milwaukee-Eight 1,868cc di samping menjadi model Softail paling ringan.

Enjin baharu ini menyaksikan Street Bob 114 2021 menawarkan 161.3Nm pada 3,000rpm.

Street Bob 114 20221 ini ditawarkan ada harga bermula dari RM101,900.

Sementara itu, Softail Standard dan Low Rider S ditawarkan pada harga RM89,900 dan RM106,900.

Harley-Davidson Low Rider S merupakan model yang dibina dari chasis Softail namun telah disuntik dengan komponen premium terutamanya bahagian ‘suspension’ bagi menawarkan pengalaman tunggangan yang agresif.

Low Rider S dengan enjin Milwaukee-Eight 114 ini menawarkan 115Nm seawal 3,250rpm.

Sementara itu, orang ramai yang berminat untuk menyaksikan tawaran 2021 ini dengan lebih dekat boleh hadir ke ‘rumah terbuka’ di semua pengedar rasmi Harley-Davidson seluruh negara pada 27 dan 28 Mac ini.

Motosikal adventure sulung Harley-Davidson akhirnya dilancarkan menerusi Pan America 1250 2021.

Ini merupakan percubaan pertama syarikat dari Milwaukee, Amerika Syarikat itu dalam menembusi pasaran ADV yang selama ini telah pun diterajui beberapa jenama lain antaranya BMW, Ducati, Triumph dan Honda.

Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 tampil dengan dua varian, standard dan Special dan bernadikan enjin Revolution Max 1250 yang menawarkan 150hp pada 9,000rpm dan 127Nm pada 6,750rpm.

Unit 1252cc baharu ini menawarkan dual spark, VVT dengan empat injap bagi setiap silinder dan ‘forged piston’.

Kedua-dua varian ini berkongsi kerangka dan enjin yang sama namun varian Special dilengkapi dengan tetapan ‘suspension’ jenis trick semi-active serta Adaptive Ride Height.

Menurut Harley-Davidson, Adaptive Ride Height ini berfungsi dengan merendahkan tempat duduk dari 890mm kepada 855mm sewaktu memberhentikan jentera bagi memudahkan kawalan sebelum meninggikan semula kepada 890mm sewaktu bergerak.

Fungsi ini dipercayai bakal memberi kemudahan kepada semua jenis penunggang.

Sementara itu, sistem membrek dikendalikan kaliper monoblock empat piston depan dan dua piston belakang.

Pan America 1250 turut dilengkapi dengan paparan (touchscreen) TFT 6.8″, dengan lampu LED penuh, cornering ABS, ean-sensitive traction control, cruise control serta hill control sekaligus menyaksikan Pan America motosikal paling moden pernah dihasilkan Harley-Davidson setakat ini selepas LiveWire.

After months of waiting, finally, the Milwaukee based company officially launched the 2021 Pan America.

The Pan America is available in two variants; the Standard comes in Vivid Black and River Rock Grey while the Special in Vivid Black, Gauntlet Grey Metallic, Deadwood Green and the two-tone Baja Orange and Stone Washed White Pearl.

Engine

 

The all-new Pan America is powered by a Revolution Max 1250 dual spark VVT that produces 150hp @ 9,000rpm and 127Nm @ 6,750rpm.

According to Harley-Davidson, the unit is built from the ground-up in an effort to improve the weight distribution.

Specifications

The Pan-America Special is packed with a beefy 47mm inverted fork with trick semi-active suspension, including Adaptive Ride Height adjustment.

The Adaptive Ride Height works by adjusting the seat height accordingly, which we think a very innovative move by Harley-Davidson.

The suspension automatically drops the bike down to 855mm once you come to a stop before returning to 890mm once you are on the move, simple yet practical for many.

The rear shocks are handled by a linkage-mounted monoshock with automatic electronic preload control and semi-active compression and rebound damping.

The braking is done by radially mounted, monoblock, 4-piston calliper at the front and dual rotor, floating, tower-mounted at the rear.

The standard and Special comes with a full colour 6.8″ TFT touchscreen display, full LED Light setup, cornering ABS, lean-sensitive traction control, cruise control and hill control which put the Pan America as the most technologically advanced motorcycle coming out of Milwaukee.

As far as an adventure motorcycle goes, Pan America offers a 21L tank with a weight of 258kg for the Special and 245kg for the standard.

According to reports online, Harley-Davidson products are no longer available for sale on the biggest e-commerce site in the world – Amazon.

The decision seemingly came from the HD boardroom, and CEO Jochen Zeitz has confirmed the news.

So why would Harley-Davidson take such a step? Wouldn’t selling on Amazon make it easier for consumers and fans of Harley-Davidson to buy its merchandise?

Well, by removing all of its merchandise from Amazon, Harley-Davidson has basically ensured that only Harley-Davidson and its dealers benefit from the company’s apparel and range of motorcycle kits, which is a business that is said to be more profitable than the motorcycles.

“We want to have a fully integrated, digital e-commerce business with our dealers,” Zeitz said to The Detroit News. “Amazon was not really something that got our dealers into the mix.”

By removing its products from Amazon, Harley-Davidson is basically ensuring that its fans and customers continue to buy directly from dealers, and subsequently ensuring its dealers continue to make profits.

This strategy is part of CEO Jochen Zeitz’s turnaround strategy dubbed “Hardwire”, which is designed to strengthen the brand and its pricing power.

Harley-Davidson is not the first major brand to pull its products off of Amazon, Nike too pulled its sneaker and apparel range from Amazon two years ago.

Harley-Davidson potentially planning to introduce an all-new supercharged engine based on the latest patent.

The Milwaukee based company is looking to integrate a supercharger into its Big Twin lineup.

However, the patent does not specify whether the supercharger unit will be fitted in the current engine or future powerplants.

Nevertheless, the patent shows how Harley plans to apply the technology.

According to the documents, the crankshaft will power the supercharger via a covered belt drive.

Air will then enter the intake system, and the pulley-driven supercharger compresses the air before delivering it to the combustion chamber.

Currently, the Kawasaki H2 is the only supercharged motorcycle available in the market.

The H2 is an embodiment of power and speed, which then raises the question on Harley’s supercharger project, are they also trying the grasp the same idealogy?

Pengeluar motosikal berpangkalan di Milwaukee, Amerika Syarikat itu merekodkan kejatuhan jualan lebih 39 peratus pada suku terakhir tahun 2020.

Laporan terkini mendapati Harley-Davidson menyerahkan 145,200 motosikal pada tahun lepas, jatuh 32 peratus berbanding 214,900 unit diserahkan pada 2019.

Ketika Harley-Davidson catat kejatuhan jualan, pesaing utama, Indian, rekodkan kenaikan penjualan lebih 30 peratus di Amerika Utara pada tempoh sama.

Menurut Polaris Inc, jualan Harley-Davidson di Amerika Utara merosot 15.4 peratus saban tahun.

Bagi menangani senario mengejutkan itu, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Harley-Davidson, Jochen Zeitz, memperkenalkan pelan strategik lima tahun.

Menurut Zeitz, pelan itu termasuk melabur di antara USD190 juta hingga USD250 juta setahun dalam cubaan mengukuhkan jenama itu dalam segmen touring, cruiser dan trike (motosikal roda tiga).

Harley sebelum ini cuba mengembangkan pasaran motosikal kepada segmen yang lebih luas terutamanya pembeli muda antaranya dengan merancang memperkenalkan motosikal jenis ‘streetfighter’ Bronx dan jentera adventure, Pan America.

Namun di bawah kendalian Zeitz, dia memutuskan untuk membatalkan sepenuhnya Bronx.

Bukan itu sahaja, kerjasama dengan pengeluar China, Qianjiang Motorcycle berkenaan dengan model 300cc juga seakan menerima nasib sama namun Qianjiang didakwa bakal meneruskan projek tersebut dibawah jenama QJ Motor.

Ini kerana Zeitz mahu jenama itu kembali memfokuskan pada pelanggan yang benar-benar mampu berbanding mengembangkan demografik dengan mensasar pembeli baharu.

Harley-Davidson telah pun melancarkan beberapa model baharu bagi 2021 antaranya Street Bob 114 yang sertai barisan Softail.

Bagi 2021, Street Bob mendapat sentuhan enjin yang lebih besar, 1,868cc berbanding 1,753cc.

Unit baharu ini menawarkan 92hp dan 161Nm dan 9 peratus lebih pantas dari 0-100km/j berbanding model sebelumnya.

Bukan itu sahaja, Street Bob 114 ini juga didatangkan dengan kerusi pillion secara standard.

Antara ciri baharu lain yang telah dikemas kini adalah gabungan rekaan bobber dengan handlebar mini, tangki 13.2L, monoshock boleh laras (preload), ‘suspension’ depan dual-bending valve, keyless, instrumen digital serta pilihan warna eksklusif, Vivid Black, Stone Washed White Pearl, Baja Orange, dan Deadwood Green.

Pada masa sama, Harley-Davidson telah menaik taraf Fat Boy untuk 2021 namun kemas kini tersebut hanyalah kecil berbanding Street Bob 114 yang hanya membabitkan lampu LED serta panel krom.

Apart from the Harley-Davidson Softail range, H-D also introduced three new 2021 models in their Touring segments in the form of updated hot rod baggers, the 2021 Harley-Davidson Road King Special, Road Glide Special, and Street Glide Special. It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard anything regarding the partnership between China’s QJ Motor (Qianjiang Motorcycle) and Harley-Davidson regarding the joint-venture project, the HD350 (or 338R). The tracker-like motorcycle might be shelved for now (thanks to H-D’s new CEO, Jochen Zeitz), but a second collaboration that leads to a more traditional Harley-Davidson approach might be on its way. Umum mengetahui Harley-Davidson bakal perkenalkan jentera bersesaran kecil hasil kerjasama dengan pengeluar motosikal China, Qianjiang Motorcycles.

Hampir setahun sejak imej ‘spyshot’ Harley-Davidson 338R didedahkan kepada umum sebagai motosikal jenis ‘naked’ yang bakal dipasarkan.

Bagaimanapun, difahamkan Harley-Davidson dan Qianjiang dilaporkan bakal membangunkan jentera kedua susulan imej ‘render’ terbaru dikongsikan syarikat itu.

Meskipun tiada info terperinci didedahkan namun imej tersebut memaparkan nama QJMotor SRV300.

Model itu dijangka mengguna pakai unit 300 cc sama yang digunakan pada 338R.

Namun, sejauh mana kebenaran mengenai pembangunan motosikal tersebut masih lagi menjadi tanda tanya.

Ini kerana kerjasama Harley-Davidson dan Qianjiang Motorcycle merupakan usahasama bekas Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif (CEO) Harley-Davidson, Matt Levatich, sementara masih tiada pengumuman rasmi perjanjian itu akan diteruskan di bawah CEO baharu, Jochen Zeitz.
