KTM is currently developing an all-new 750cc platform as part of the Austrian company joint venture with Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto.

Report suggests KTM is planning to introduce a 750 Duke, 750 Adventure and 750 Supermoto as a replacement for the outgoing 790 Duke as the company had recently launched the all-new 890cc range.

In an effort to offer a more affordable mid-segment machine, CFMoto will take up the task to manufacture the KTM 750 model at their factory in Hangzhou, China, with the global unveil expected to take place in 2022.

KTM and CFMoto signed an agreement in 2011 with the China-based company responsible for importing and selling the Austrian motorcycle in China.

However, CFMoto has also officially begun to manufacture KTM motorcycle since 2020 as part of KTM expansion strategy in Asia, similar to the arrangement with Bajaj Auto in India.

Meanwhile, CFMoto is gearing up for their first adventure motorcycle with the all-new 800MT that is powered by the same 799cc engine found on the 790 Adventure.

Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMOTO finally makes its way to Europe by introducing five new models in Italy.

According to Motociclismo.it, CFMOTO revealed the 2021 300NK, 650NK, 650MT, 650GT and the 700CL-X.

All of the motorcycles will be available as early as June 2021.

Interestingly, CFMOTO also plans to introduce the highly anticipated 800MT and the 700CL- ADV and Sport.

CFMoto 300NK and 650NK

The 300NK is a naked sports motorcycle powered by a single-cylinder 292cc DOHC liquid-cooled engine capable of producing 27.9hp @ 8,750rpm.

Braking is helped by a 392mm disc at the front and 22mm disc at the rear and paired with a dual-channel ABS.

Meanwhile, the 650NK is powered by a 649cc DOHC liquid-cooled engine that offers a maximum output of 56.5hp @ 8,250rpm.

The 650NK also hold a 17L fuel tank.

CFMoto 650MT and 650GT

The 650MT and the 650GT is the company first attempt at challenging the sport-touring segment.

Powered by the same engine found on the 650NK, the 650MT and 650GT makes 56.5hp @ 8,250rpm.

Both frames are made out of steel tubes and come with a 43mm USD fork with an adjustable preload monoshock. The tank holds 18L of fuel.

CFMoto 700CL-X

Thanks to the classic retro-style cafe racer design, the 700CL-X is set to be the most popular model in Italy.

Despite the country boasting various models from more established brands such as the Ducati Scrambler, the 700CL-X comes under just EUR7,000, making it desirable among younger riders.

CFMoto has officially launched the all-new 800MT adventure touring motorcycle at the Shanghai Auto Show.

While product launches involving Chinese manufacturers tend to be overlooked, the 800MT is one you should look out for.

Despite made in China, the 800MT is powered by the same 799cc LC8 parallel-twin engine found on the KTM 790 Adventure.

CFMoto and KTM have been working together since 2011, with the Chinese manufacturer responsible for producing a few of the Austrian small-displacement motorcycles consisting of Duke 125, 250 and 390 in China.

This puts the CFMoto 800MT as a legit contender in the adventure-touring segment.

While the 790 Adventure offers 95hp and 88Nm max torque, the revised LC8 engine delivers 94hp and 78Nm.

Nevertheless, the 800MT comes with decent spec, including a KYB suspension and J.Juan radial callipers. The 800MT is not shy of electronics either, as it comes with a cornering ABS, traction control, ride-by-wire and riding modes.

The question is, will it arrived in Malaysia? After doing some digging, expect the CFMoto 800MT to arrive at the local showroom sometime in 2022.

KTM sales recorded a drop of 3.4 per cent at the end of 2020 after selling 270,047 units of motorcycles worldwide.

The slight drop was due to the coronavirus pandemic that struck the world early last year as compared to 280,099 units sold in 2019.

However, KTM reports revealed a 1.8 per cent increased (with 265,321 units) in global motorcycle production despite the production in Austria decreased by 12 per cent to 160,098 units.

Nonetheless, the Austrian manufacturer is set to grow in 2021 with the help of its Chinese counterpart, CFMoto, who is set to produce the 790 Duke and 790 Adventure in China.

According to KTM, CFMoto will assemble the company mid-range motorcycle starting this year with the China brand will also be producing their own lineup based on the KTM parallel-twin engine.

CFMoto recently revealed the all-new 800MT, an adventurer tourer motorcycle powered by the same engine found on the 790 Adventure.

*tukaran langsung

The CFMOTO brand is undeniably getting bigger and bigger, especially in Malaysia, with its wide range of 250cc up to 650cc motorcycles.

The 250SR quickly gained attention when CFMOTO launched the motorcycle in Penang back in 2019, with the brand already making its mark previously with the 400NK and 650MT.

During the launch, CFMOTO informed us that the all-new 700CL-X would also arrive in Malaysia in 2021 before it was put on hold due to the current pandemic Covid-19.

Nevertheless, it is rumoured that the new cafe-racer-type machine will reach shores at the end of 2021.

When it was unveiled at 2019 EICMA, three variants were on display: Heritage, Adventure, and Sport with the motorcycle powered by a 693cc parallel-twin engine that punches around 74hp and 68Nm of torque.

The 700CL-X boast with variety of features which includes:

  • 41mm KYB USD front forks (fully adjustable)
  • Rear KYB single shock (preload & rebound adjustability)
  • Retro-looking front LED headlights (all-round LED lighting system)
  • 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels + Pirelli MT60 RS tyres
  • Slipper clutch
  • Selectable riding modes, cruise control + LCD dashboard
  • Continental ABS

Although no official price has been revealed, we expect it to be sold at around RM30,000 to RM35,000, which we think is an excellent price for a motorcycle that packs with all the latest goodies.

While other brands are taking a more cautious approach towards 2021 due to the current coronavirus pandemic, CFMOTO is going ahead with their plans to introduce a few new models.

What surprised us is that while other manufacturers seek to introduce small-displacement two-wheeler to reach broader demographics, CFMOTO is busy with larger-displacements products.

Three new motorcycles are expected to land this year with 2021 CFMOTO 650NK, 700CL-X and the 800MT.

2021 CFMOTO 650NK

The 650NK is a mid-segment naked motorcycle that features a liquid-cooled 649cc parallel-twin engine that produces 60hp and 56Nm.

The motorcycle also packs with a dual-channel ABS, all-around LED lights, telescopic fork and a rear monoshock by KYB, while the braking hardware consists of twin disc setup and a single rear disc with a pair of Pirelli rubber.

The 650NK also comes with a new 5″ TFT screen and a 17L fuel tank.

2021 CFMOTO 700CL-X

This excites us the most, as the 700CL-X is CFMOTO modern take on the scrambler/cafe racer motorcycle, apart from offering higher specifications than the 650NK.

The 700CL-X is packed with a 693cc parallel-twin that produces 73hp @ 8,500rpm and 68Nm @ 7,000rpm and paired to a slipper clutch.

Like the 650NK, the suspension setup is handled by KYB with an adjustable 41mm upside/down fork and monoshock.

It also comes with ride-by-wire technology, riding modes and cruise control, and LED lights with DRL.

2021 CFMOTO 800MT

The 800MT is CFMOTO attempt to penetrate the adventure segment with an all-new dual-purpose motorcycle in partnership with KTM.

As a result, the same KTM LC8 799cc parallel-twin powers the 790 Adventure is injected into the 800MT.

The 800MT is expected to come in two variants, spokes and alloy rims, based on leaked photos.

The 800MT is expected to come with a TFT display, four-piston brake callipers, ride-by-wire, riding modes and cruise control.
