Who was Malaysia’s First GP Rider?

With more Malaysian riders competing in international races around the world, the question of who was Malaysia’s first GP rider comes to mind.

There were many Malaysians racing in regional and national GP races back in the 1960s to 1980s from the legendary riders like Oh Kah Beng aka “Foreman Oh” and Kuan Huah Chin aka “Bulldog Kuan”.

The first modern-day GP rider is none other than Shahrol Yuzy who began his international GP career back in 1996 and retired in 2002.

In this modern day and age, Malaysians are getting more recognition than ever especially in the motorcycle racing world. Currently, we have a total of three young Malaysians competing in the highest level of road or circuit racing that is MotoGP. (more…)

Intip: Adakah ini Yamaha NVX 155 di Rawang?

Sekeping gambar kiriman pembaca, menunjukkan sekilas pandang raut jentera automatik yang ditunggu-tunggu oleh peminat dua roda di Malaysia, iaitu, Yamaha NVX 155.

Mengapa jentera ini ditunggu-tunggu walaupun hanyalah jentera skuter sahaja? Pada pendapat kami, jentera ini menfokuskan kepada prestasi dengan enjin 155.1cc yang dilengkapi dengan sistem VVA yang mampu menjana 11.0kW (14.75hp) @ 8,000RPM dengan daya kilas pada 13.8Nm @ 6,250RPM. Jumlah kuasa maksimum ini hanya sedikit rendah jika dibandingkan dengan Y15ZR yang melepaskan 11.3kW (15.4PS) @ 8,500RPM.

Lagi Paten Difailkan Untuk Yamaha MWT-9

Paten baru telah muncul menunjukkan rupa terbaru rekaan motosikal beroda tiga dari Yamaha yang diberi nama Yamaha MWT-9.
Konsep motosikal beroda tiga ini mula diperkenalkan pada tahun 2015 semasa Pertunjukan Motor Tokyo dan paten terkini mempamerkan versi motosikal ‘naked’ berbanding rekaan asalnya.
Yamaha telah pun dalam usaha membangunkan MWT-9 dengan rancangan untuk pengeluaran pada suatu hari nanti.

More Patents filed for the Yamaha MWT-9

New patents have surfaced showing the latest rendition of the amazing three-wheeled motorcycle from Yamaha dubbed the Yamaha MWT-9.

The concept three-wheeler was introduced back in 2015 during the Tokyo Motor Show and the latest patent shows a naked version compared to the original half fairing design.

Yamaha has been developing the MWT-9 with plans that one day, it’ll go into production.

Ever since news broke out that Yamaha came up with the Yamaha MWT-9 Concept back in 2015 during the annual Tokyo Motor Show, they have been getting mixed feelings about the possibility of the three-wheeled Yamaha being put into production. To us, it is still however an intriguing idea and based on the video seen below, the Yamaha MWT-9 definitely gets the two thumbs from us here at Bikes Republic. (more…)

Malaysian Cub Prix: CP150 Rider Norizman Ismail succumbs to Crash Injuries

Malaysian Cub Prix CP150 rider Norizman Ismail from the ONEXOX TKKR Racing Team has sadly passed away earlier today following a crash in Kemaman, Terengganu.

The incident happened during the Timed Practice session of Round 3 of the 2017 Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship.

“Following a meeting with teams and riders, the Cub Prix fraternity collectively decided to cancel Round 3 as a mark of respect to a fallen comrade.”

It is a sad day for the local motorcycle racing industry today. Veteran Malaysian Cub Prix rider Norizman Ismail has sadly passed away earlier today following a crash during the third round of the 2017 Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship in Kemaman, Terengganu. (more…)

MotoGP; Marc Marquez Bermula Dari Posisi Pertama Dalam GP Argentina

Juara Dunia MotoGP 2016 Marc Marquez menjadi satu-satunya penunggang yang mencatat masa di bawah 1 minit 48 saat.
Karel Abraham mengejutkan semua orang setelah bertarung untuk posisi pertama dengan juara MotoGP itu.
Penunggang dari Britain Cal Crutchlow hanya 0.003 saat di belakang Abraham, meletakkannya di tempat ketiga untuk perlumbaan GP Argentina pada hari ini.

MotoGP 2017: Marquez Starts from Pole Position in Argentina GP

2016 MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez was the only rider to go below the 1 minute 48 second mark
Karel Abraham shocked everyone after battling for pole position with the MotoGP champion
Brit rider Cal Crutchlow was only 0.003 seconds behind Abraham, putting him in P3 for the Argentina GP race later today

It was a wet and very interesting MotoGP qualifying session with a surprising grid line up to match. After a series of unpredictable results, the reigning MotoGP champion, Marc Marquez from the Repsol Honda squad came up on top after clocking in a blistering 1:47.512. Marquez was the only rider yesterday who ran a sub 1 minute 48 seconds. The track was so wet that this happened when Marquez tried to practice his start. (more…)

New generation YZF-R15 boasts nearly 20% improved power output
Yamaha also plans to start sales in other ASEAN countries
Jakarta dealership retail price – 34,500,000 rupiah (RM11,460)

It was announced earlier today by Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Yamaha Japan) that the all-new YZF-R15 small capacity sports bike will be launched in April this year for the Indonesian market first. Recall due to the loosening of lower handlebar holder
All models from 2015 to 2017 are affected with the safety issue

Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia (HLYM) has issued an official notification regarding the Yamaha MT-09 and MT-09 Tracer here in Malaysia. As stated in the official HLYM website, Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd., Japan made the announcement to proactively recall the Yamaha MT-09 and MT-09 Tracer due to the lower handler bar holder loosening. (more…)
