Motosikal kategori ‘sportsbike’ segmen pertengahan semakin mendapat permintaan tinggi dikalangan peminat dua roda seluruh dunia.

Qianjiang Motorcycle (QJMotor) becomes the second Chinese motorcycle manufacturer to confirm an entry at the 2022 Moto3 World Championship alongside CFMoto.

According to reports, QJMotor will feature at the 2022 Moto3 with a rebrand KTM RC250GP after striking a deal with KTM and Spanish-based Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 team.

The deal is similar to CFMoto whereby the two brands will not be developing their own Moto3 chassis instead, will be competing with KTM’s RC250GP.

The tactic will now account for five of the six manufacturers listed in 2022.

QJMotor Avintia Esponsoroma will run two VR46 Academy proteges, Matteo Bertelle and Elia Bartolini at this year Moto3 world championship.

Meanwhile, CFMoto has joined forces with Prustel GP and fielding 18-year-old Xavier Artigas and Carlos Tatay.

QJMotor is finally getting the attention it deserved ever since MV Agusta unveiled the near-production Lucky Explorer 5.5 at this year’s EICMA.

The Lucky Explorer 5.5 is born thanks to the collaboration between MV and Qianjiang Motorcycles, the parent company of QJMotor and Benelli.

Underneath the 5.5 sits a 550cc parallel-twin engine, the same platform taken from Benelli’s TRK 502 and QJMotor ST500.

In the latest development, the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer is said to be working on a new 400cc platform based on new type-approval documents published in China.

Usually, no one bats an eye but considering that it could also be the perfect basis for small displacement MV in the future, any new development from QJMotor is treated as crucial.

Yet to disclose even in China, the new motorcycle goes under the name QJ400GS-J but could also be renamed as GS400RR based on the decals on the fairing.

According to the documents, the new motorcycle features a 400cc parallel-twin engine and makes 44hp.

Interestingly the GS400RR is also equipped with a single-sided swingarm, something that could perfectly be fitted on an MV Agusta.

Italian motorcycle company, Benelli, is set to unveil a new 650cc adventure motorcycle as confirmed by a new patent filed by its parent company, Qianjiang Motorcycle.

While Qianjiang Motorcycle also runs its own QJMotor brand, the new patent suggests that it will cater to both of the brands.

Interestingly, the leaked images revealed a different take on a middleweight adventure bike, with a shorter windscreen, a single pod LED headlamp flanked by twin DRL (daytime running light), a chunky side fairing and a handguard.

The absence of a signature front beak (similar to Aprilia’s Tuareg 660 and Yamaha’s Tenere 700) also puts the motorcycle on a different design spectrum than other modern ADV machines.

The saddle features a split-seat setup with a big pillion grab rail, a similar aspect found on big ADV bikes such as the iconic BMW GS range.

Meanwhile, the 650cc V-Twin powerplant is underpinned by a new tubular steel trellis frame and is expected to punch out around 70hp, putting it around the same class as the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT.

The bike is also fitted with 19″ front, and 17″ rear spoke tubeless wheels, allowing the motorcycle to tackle both road and off-road conditions.

Despite the lack of further details, we can assume that Benelli or QJMotor will reveal the new motorcycle later this year in EICMA.

Chinese motorcycle manufacturer QJ Motor officially revealed the Chase 700 at the 2021 Beijing Motor Show.

Unlike the Chase 600 and Chase 350, the new naked motorcycle does not borrow its engine from a Benelli.

The Chase 700 is powered by a parallel-twin 693cc liquid-cooled engine capable of producing 75hp @ 8,750rpm and 68.2Nm @ 6,250rpm.

Despite the numbers similar to the Benelli 752S, another Chinese company, Chunfeng, provided the engine.

Nonetheless, the QJMotor Chase 700 comes with a host of impressive features:

  • twin 320mm disc at the front
  • single 260mm disc at the rear
  • Brembo 4-pot callipers
  • full LED lights setup
  • fully digital LCD

The QJMotor Chase 700 will compete with the likes of Yamaha MT-07, Kawasaki Z 650, Benelli 752S and CFMoto CL-X.

QJMotor, the Chinese parent company of Benelli, made one hell of a presentation yesterday by introducing seven new models for 2021. One of the biggest highlights is the QJMotor SRG 600, which is highly destined to be the first Benelli 600cc sports bike for markets outside of China and it looks quite good if you ask us. (more…)
