In conjunction with Aprilia’s 30th anniversary of its maiden Grand Prix title, the Noale factory has introduced a specially built RSV4 Xtrenta.

  • The Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta is the first production bike to feature a MotoGP-derived under-wing (aka The Spoon).
  • The XTrenta makes a 230hp with 165kg.

The timing couldn’t be better as Aprilia is currently having its best season so far in MotoGP, with the likes of Aleix Espargaro winning the Argentinian GP followed by Maverick Vinales seizing his second podium of the season at Misano.

Jumping on Aprilia’s Grand Prix racing pedigree, the RSV4 Xtrenta features all the goodies from the firm’s RS-GP machine.

Firstly, the RSV4 Xtrenta utilized the same PAN Compositi process used by MotoGP teams. As such, the bike track-only motorcycle gets the same aerodynamic appendages and rear winglets similar to the RS-GP.

The XTrenta is also the first production bike to feature the swingarm-mounted MotoGP under-wing (The Spoon) that helps to regulate tire temperature.

Aprilia also revised the 1,099cc V4 engine on the RSV4 Xtrenta by increasing the compression ratio. Also, thanks to the newly-developed SC-Project titanium carbon exhaust system, the Xtrenta makes a whopping 230 peak horsepower.

Ensuring the engine runs at optimal temperature, the XTrenta features superbike-derived Taleo Tecnoracing water and oil radiators.

Other unique features available on the RSV4 Xtrenta include a specially-calibrated Magneti Marelli control unit, JetPrime racing panels, refined Ohlins suspensions and forged magnesium Marchesini M7R Genesi wheels.

Also, thanks to its lightweight construction, stopping is easier with Brembo GP4-MS billet monoblock callipers paired with a 330mm T-drive disc.

Limited to just 100 units, the Aprilia RSV4 Xtrenta will go on sale on 6 September for EUR50,000, which easily translates to RM222,400.

“Sangat mengujakan kerana kami akhirnya berjaya mendapat khidmatnya,” jelas Razlan.

RNF Aprilia has officially announced Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez as the team riders for the 2023 season ahead of the the Gran Premio Gryfyn di San Marino e della Rivieria di Rimini.

  • Raul Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira joins Aprilia’s newest satelite team next season.
  • Both riders will ride onboard the Aprilia RS-GP.

The former KTM riders will join the newly formed team headed by Razlan Razali after agreeing a two-year deal.

According to the team official statement, both riders will ride on board the Aprilia RS-GP machine for the next season.

That said, the announcement completes team RNF Aprilia line-up for the 2023 and 2024 season.

Meanwhile, Razlan Razali expressed his excitement over the new recruitment while also looking forward to the new season.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernandez to the WithU RNF MotoGP Team from 2023.

“It has not been a simple process, but together with Aprilia we are very clear on the riders that we wanted.

“They are both young riders with a good combination of experience coming from Miguel and Raúl who I’m personally a fan of since he shocked the Moto2 category last year to become Vice Champion.

“To finally secure him, is fantastic. Both, Aprilia and we believe in the talent of both riders, so we can’t wait for them to ride for us next season!,” he said.

The Aprilia RS250 is considered one of the grails of a two-strokes machine.

  • Aprilia produced the road-going RS250 between 1995 and 2002.
  • The RS250 runs on a repurposed Suzuki RGV250 V-twin engine with a modified ECU that makes 65hp.

The ultimate pocket-rocket of the 90s features a low-capacity, lightweight and high-revving engine inspired by the race bikes competing in the 250GP World Championship ridden by Max Biaggi and Valentino Rossi alike.

The current-day Aprilia RS 125 is a modern-day version of the iconic RS250; however, it lacks the same fun factor as its predecessors.

However, if you still adore the RS250 and coincidentally own an RSV4, you might want to consider doing a complete retro makeover.

French blogger Le Week-end De Course has done it by taking his RSV4 and turning it into the RS250.

The retro makeover successfully captures the RS250 bodywork with Aprilia’s traditional black and white colourway.

As a result, the RSV4 turned RS250 still looks like every 90s kid’s dream motorcycle with its curved nose and chunky headlamp.

The motorcycle also features the RS250 bubbled rear tail that helps to complete the overall look.

While there’s zero chance for Aprilia to bring back the RS250 due to the strict emission shenanigans, sportsbike manufacturers might want to consider applying a similar design language to modern motorcycles.

The second half of the 2022 MotoGP season resumed in full action in Silverstone, with Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia taking his fourth win of the season.

  • Bagnaia took his fourth win of the season at Silverstone.
  • Vinales claimed his back-to-back podium with second place.
  • Quatararo continue to lead the championship with 180 points.

The Italian came out on top after overcoming a late surge from Aprilia’s Maverick Vinales.

Pramac’s Johann Zarco led the earlier part of the race after starting from pole in search of his first ever MotoGP race win.

However, the Frenchman could not hold his ground coming at Turn 8, crashing on lap five, leaving Ducati’s Jack Miller in the lead with continued pressure from Suzuki’s Alex Rins.

Bagnaia took some time to warm up, slowly passed his teammate Miller at lap seven for second place, and started chasing Rins. Bagnaia soon caught up with the Spanish rider at the end of the first ten laps, with Miller doing well to stick behind his mate.

An intense battle was going on for fourth with Vinales and Jorge Martin before the former broke through and pressured Rins to take third.

Vinales wasted no time to pass Miller for second and somehow managed to squeeze for more speed from the RS-GP 22 machine to close the gap with Bagnaia.

Vinales tried to take the lead from Bagnaia – at the same spot he passed Miller – however, the Italian easily shakedown the effort and continued to take the lead onto the final lap.

This is the Italian rider fourth win – second win in succession – of the season, putting him third in the championship standings with 131 points, just 22 points behind leader Fabio Quartararo.

Aprilia is among the few manufacturers that has a rich racing pedigree, so when the company reached a significant milestone, its only fair to mark the occasion with a specially build motorcycle.

  • Aprilia RSV4 Trenta to feature ‘the spoon’, an aero device currently featured on Aprilia’s RS-GP 22 race bike.
  • Limited to just 30 units (expected).
  • A new benchmark for next-generation RSV4.

The Noale factory is set to celebrate its 30 years of title-winning success with a special edition Aprilia RSV4 Trenta.

The RSV4 Trenta was spotted testing at the Cremona circuit with ex-WorldSBK rider, Matteo Baiocco.

While no further details is reveal yet, the Trenta moniker can be seen on the side of the belly pan which could confirm the nameplate that it will carry.

Also, reports suggest that it could bear resemblance to the RSV4 X track-only motorcycle that was unveiled in 2019. Which means that the upcoming Trenta could make around 225hp.

That said, the RSV4 Trent might be limited to just 30 units correspond to Aprilia Racing 30th anniversary.

Closer look at the spy photos, the RSV4 Trenta is fitted with ‘the spoon’, an aero device currently features on Aprilia’s RS-GP 22 MotoGP machine. The ‘spoon’ sits in front of the rear-wheel to allow a direct airflow to the rear and helps to improve stability.

The new development could also signals Aprilia’s intention of bringing the MotoGP-derived technology to its road bike, especially the next-generation RSV4.

The Tuareg 660 is Aprilia’s answer to tackle the middleweight adventure segment which previously dominated by the likes of Yamaha’s Tenere 700 and KTM’s 890 Adventure.

  • Akrapovic features a new exhaust system designed specifically for the Tuareg 660.

  • adds 1.2hp and 2Nm.

Despite being a fresh model, the Tuareg 660 garnered a lot of attention ever since the motorcycle was teased at the 2019 EICMA.

Modeled after Aprilia’s newest 660 platform, the Tuareg also features top of the range electronic package and suspension.

While the 660cc parallel-twin mill makes a good throbbing sound, it still missing that robust adventure voice note like a proper ADV.

This is where Akrapovic comes in as the Italian expert has a new exhaust system developed specifically for the Tuareg 660.

Made out of lightweight titanium with stainless steel link pipe, the exhaust system is designed as a slip-on for the Tuareg.

Apart from delivering a proper ADV sound, the exhaust shed 1.9 kilograms from the stock pipes. Given how tall the Tuareg is, the weight loss is definitely a plus for any ADV riders.

Akrapovic also claimed that the new exhaust adds 1.2hp @ 4,800rpm and 2Nm @ 4,800.

Like the rest of the material, the link pipe and the optional header are also built out of stainless steel material.

However, it is important to take note that the installation for the new exhaust will invalidates the bike’s Euro5 compliance, making it not street legal.

Aprilia has entered the popular middle-weight maxi-scooter segment in Asia with the new SR MAX 250 HPE.

  • the SR MAX 250 gets a new high-performance 244cc single cylinder engine.
  • currently China-excuslive, the SR MAX 250 HPE features TFT instrument cluster and traction control.

The SR MAX 250 shares a similar platform as the SR MAX 300 but is designed to offer greater comfort for long rides and practicality for daily commuting.

Powering the SR MAX 250 is Aprilia’s 244cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, a fuel-injected engine capable of pumping 25hp and 21.6Nm.

Sadly, the SR MAX 250 HPE is currently a China-exclusive model, but it could find its way to the rest of the world just like the SR GT 125 and SR GT 200.

According to Aprilia, the SR MAX 250 HPE is priced at CNY26,700 (RM17,600).

SC-Project will continue to supply exhaust for the Aprilia MotoGP team until 2024 after agreeing on a two-year extension.

  • SC-Project supplied Aprilia’s RS-GP exhaust system since 2021.
  • The Italian company becomes Aprilia’s Official Technical Partner.

Aprilia and SC-Project partnership began in 2021 with the Italian manufacturer developing the exhausts for Aprilia’s RS-GP machine.

Since then, Aprilia took its first MotoGP podium in 2021 before claiming the maiden MotoGP race win in 2022 and is currently fighting for the World Championship with Aleix Espargaro.

That said, SC-Project has become an integral part of Aprilia’s climb to world championship glory.

“A solid and ambitious project like ours needs partners who share our same values.

“The one with SC-Project is a natural bond: two great Italian companies, technological leaders in their segments, with a sporty and innovative DNA.

“This is why we are proud to announce the continuation of our relationship, a path of common growth that, I have no doubt, will lead Made in Italy to excel on tracks all over the world,” said Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola.

Also, the two-year extension will now see SC-Project become the Official Technical Partner of Aprilia MotoGP. The SC-Project exhaust will be found in Aprilia’s production race bike department, including the RS660 Trofeo and the RS250 SP.

Meanwhile, Aprilia Racing Technical Director Romano Albesiano is relishing the extended partnership.

“The exhaust system is a key element of our new V4 engine, which is proving to be one of the most competitive in MotoGP.

This is also thanks to the technical synergy with SC-Project, a dynamic and competent company with whom we have established a profitable relationship. In a championship where it is the details that make the real difference, it is essential to be able to count on a supplier that has the technology and expertise to contribute to the development of our RS-GP project,” he said.
