  • A shop talk session is where the manager of the business hosts customers and potential customers to introduce them to the services and programs the shop offers.
  • Last year, MV Agusta owners were left in a lurch when the company distributing the brand in Malaysia ceased operations.
  • In December of 2018, GB Workshop entered into a partnership with MV Agusta Motor S.p.A to provide after sales service to MV Agusta owners.
  • Recent shop talk session is the first such program for MV owners, with over 30 bikers showing up.

Last December, we reported that there is a new official after sales service centre for MV Agusta motorcycles in Malaysia.

Goh Brothers Motorcycles Sdn Bhd (GBMC) made an official announcement that it had entered a partnership with MV Agusta (MV) Motor S.p.A to provide after sales support to all MV Agusta motorcycles in Malaysia. Click here to read about the major announcement.

Following the announcement, GBMC today organised a “Shop Talk” session for MV Agusta owners. The session took place at GB Workshop which is located at The Gasket Alley.

The session, which was attended by about 30 MV Agusta owners, aimed to introduce the owners to the crew behind the service centre.

The session was headed by Idon Pang, Aftersales Manager of GB Workshop, who has been trained by MV Agusta in after sales service.

“This session was organised to introduce owners to the team behind the service centre as well as our standard operating procedures. We want to show MV Agusta owners that we are prepared and well equipped to service MV Agusta motorcycles,” said Pang about the session.

Topics discussed during the session included an introduction to the service centre and its machineries, warranty claims as well as parts ordering.

“We are thrilled and grateful for the unexpected show of support for this shop talk session. We are committed to maintaining MV Agusta motorcycles the way they are meant to be with all the right technical equipment as well as trained mechanics. We sent the head of our aftersales division to Italy to be trained by MV Agusta and we will continue to invest in training and technical equipment so MV Agusta owners can expect only the best service and we achieve this by first listening to our owners,” said Juan Chow Wee, General Manager of GBMC.

GB Workshop is now accepting all MV Agusta motorcycles for maintenance work as well as warranty claims.

Forward Racing has unveiled the MV Agusta F2 Moto2 race bike.

It signifies the return of the Italian marque after a 42-year absence in GP racing. Forward Racing has a new title sponsor hence the change in colour scheme from black to red/white and the team being officially called MV Agusta Idea Lavoro Forward Racing.

The F2 features MV Agusta’s red-painted steel trellis frame mated to an aluminium swingarm. Suspension is supplied by Öhlins and the engine is the new Triumph 765cc triple.

Team riders Stefano Manzi and Dominique Aegerter unveiled the F2 alongside Giacomo Agostini’s MV Agusta 500cc 4-cylinder championship winning bike.

The team had first signed Romano Fenati to ride the bike this year. However, Fenati went to on to grab Manzi’s front brake lever at Misano after trading hard passes on track. He was immediately dropped from his old Moto2 team and banned for the entire season. MV Agusta CEO Giovanni Castiglioni followed up by declaring that he will not allow Fenati to ride his bikes.

The team will join other Moto2 contenders at the first pre-season tests at the Jerez Circuit in Spain from 20th February and the final test at Losail in Qatar from 1st March. The 2019 MotoGP season kicks off on 10th March.

  • A collection of MV Agusta classics will be sold in Paris.

  • The collection consists of 90 bikes including prototypes, one-off race bikes, production bikes, scooters.

  • They are expected to fetch between €3,000 to €250,000 each.

We’ve seen vintage, classics and modern motorcycles individually listed in Mudah.my, but this is something amazing. Up for sale is a collection of approximately 90 classic and iconic MV Agusta motorcycles.

The collection was put together by a family through their love for the Italian marque. The current owner’s uncle worked in the family’s MV workshop long ago. He even raced some of the bikes at the Giro d’Italia and Milan-Tarento races.

It was him who bought these bikes, which didn’t cost so much at the time. As the collection grew over time, he rented an unused factory near Monaco to store this massive collection. The man had some of these bikes were restored by ex-factory mechanics, evidently without thought to cost. There are among these bikes that were built by Arturo Magni himself.

Consequently, all the bikes are in running condition and are certified by the MV Agusta museum.

The collection consists of volume production models and one-off specials, scooters, road bikes, and prototypes from as far back as 1945. There’s even a mini bike that was made for Phil Read’s son before it went into production. It was modelled after Read’s own race bike. The owner wasn’t boasting when he claimed it to be the world’s largest collection of the Italian brand.

  • MV Agusta motorcycle owners in Malaysia were previously left out in the cold with no official service centre to maintain MV bikes.
  • Goh Brothers Motorcycles Sdn Bhd has entered into an agreement with MV Agusta motor S.p.A to provide official after sales service in Malaysia.
  • GB Workshop at The Gasket Alley will be the first workshop to provide official support for MV Agusta owners including general servicing, repairs and even warranty claims.

MV Agusta has had a chequered history in Malaysia, enjoying some success before disappearing from the mainstream for a while.

A few companies have been tasked with the distribution and dealership of the iconic brand, but not too long ago, the brand was again caught in a limbo when the last company that took on the distributorship for MV Agusta motorcycles in Malaysia sadly folded. With no official after sales support, MV Agusta owners in Malaysia were left out in the cold.

Well, the best times seem to be ahead of the company, and current owners of MV Agusta motorcycles in Malaysia have a lot to look forward to.

Goh Brothers Motorcycles Sdn Bhd (GBMC) has announced a partnership with MV Agusta (MV) Motor S.p.A to provide peace of mind for all MV owners in Malaysia. With the partnership, GBMC will start to provide aftersales support to all MV Agusta motorcycles in Malaysia, in the form of general service and maintenance, repair and even warranty claims.

The first outlet ready to accept MV owners is the GB Workshop at the renowned motorcycle hub at The Gasket Alley in Petaling Jaya.

“We are honoured to be selected as the partner for this renowned super-premium motorcycle brand in Malaysia and to start the process of building the brand and ownership experience via after sales, we have sent our team for training at the Italian factory on top of ensuring proper tools and equipment are ready on the service floor” Mr Goh Kian Sin (below), Chairman of Goh Brothers Motorcycles.

MV Agusta Motor SpA Far East Country Manager Judah Sangaran “We are working closely with GBMC to sustain and build the confidence of our current owners in our brand in Malaysia and one of the exercises now is to ensure faster availability of parts on top of reliable service and repair for all existing MV Agusta owners in Malaysia.

In charge of servicing old and new MV Agusta motorcycles is Idon Pang (above), Aftersales Manager of GB Workship, who himself has been trained by MV Agusta motorcycles in Italy. So you can rest assured that your MV Agusta is in good hands, probably better than it has ever been.

  • The 2019 MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro is now the most powerful super naked with 205 bhp.

  • MV Agusta worked on reducing friction in the engine and reducing weight.

  • Only 300 will be built.

Has MV Agusta’s Brutale finally lived up to its name? It has now with this 2019 MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro.

The MV Agusta Agusta Brutale line-up has always looked awesome but let’s face it, they were never truly that fierce. It is especially true when compared to its contemporaries in the shape of the Ducati Monster 1200 S, BMW S 1000 R, Aprilia Tuono 1000 and 1100, Triumph Speed Triple, and the completely mental KTM 1290 Super Duke R. But it had a great name: “Brutale” which means brutal in Italian.

Well, it’s time MV steps out of the closet and create the most powerful Brutale and most powerful super naked, yet.

For starters, the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro (Italian for Golden Series) is endowed with 205 bhp. That’s put it way out of the ballpark of current super nakeds that produce 160 to 180 bhp.

But if 205 bhp isn’t enough to blow you backwards off the bike, you can try it with 209 bhp by bolting on the SC Project 4-1-4 titanium exhaust system.

MV Agusta achieved this by drawing on their experience in the WorldSBK and WorldSSP Championships. Their overriding objective was friction reduction.

The Brutale 1000 continues MV’s four-cylinder heritage. The 998cc engine employs 79mm bore and 50.9mm stroke, with a 13.65:1 compression ratio, which are identical to the F4 superbike race machine. The valves are still titanium but the guides are now sintered. The combustion chamber has been redesigned. Camshaft timing is revised, besides changes to the intake and exhaust lobes. The pistons employ low friction Asso compression rings. The crankshaft is all-new.

What sets the Serie Oro apart are the details. The wheels are carbon fibre. However, the radiator shrouds out to capture your attention quickly. They are shaped like aerobody winglets. They start creating downforce from 200 km/h and above. The bodywork is entirely carbon fibre.

Other smaller details include carbon fibre clutch cover and phonic wheel covers. Note also the clip-on handlebars instead of a tapered bar like on all other naked bikes.

The use of carbon fibre brings down the bike’s weight. The MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro tips the scales at 186 kg dry. Using the race kit sheds another 2 kg.

Suspension is electronic Ohlins on both ends, featuring NIX forks and TTX36 rear shock. Brembo Stylema calipers anchor the front.

Another bit of wonderful news: MV Agusta has moved to a 5” TFT rather than retaining the old LCD screen.

Bad news is the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro is a limited production model. Only 300 will be built.

  • Only 100 units will be sold with a price tag of $83,000 for the US market (RM345,280).

As we all come to sadly realise, the flagship from MV Agusta is coming to the end of its line and the premium Italian bike manufacturer is sending it off with a bang thanks to this final edition of the F4. The 2019 MV Agusta F4 Claudio pays homage to its great lineage and also to its creator, Claudio Castiglioni. (more…)
