GP Britain: Quartararo Salahkan Rins, Dovizioso Alami Hilang Ingatan

Pelumba Petronas Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo mendakwa kemalangan yang menimpanya berlaku daripada kesilapan Alex Rins yanng memintasnya di selekoh pertama.

Quartararo mengalami insiden ‘highside’ lalu terbabas yang turut menyaksikan jenteranya dilanggar Andrea Dovizioso.

Dovizioso terpaksa dikejarkan ke hospital susulan mengalami hilang ingatan sementara apabila mengalami hentakan kuat susulan perlanggaran tersebut.

Quartararo kemudiannya menjelaskan bahawa kemalangan tersebut berlaku disebabkan Alex Rins yang hampir hilang kawalan.

Disebabkan mahu mengelak, pelumba Perancis itu telah melepaskan pendikit secara mengejut lalu mencetuskan kejadian ‘highside’. Quartararo menegaskan dia tidak akan terbabas jika Rins tidak melakukan kesilapan itu.

“Rins memintas saya di selekoh pertama tetapi dia mula hilang cengkaman di bahagian tayar belakang jadi saya telah melepaskan pendikit dengan agresif bagi mengelak daripada melanggarnya.

“Nasib saya tidak baik apabila senario itu mencetuskan ‘highside’, katanya menurut Motorsport.com

Aksi di Silverstone menyaksikan Rins berjaya merekodkan kemenangan kedua musim ini selepas Austin apabila dia berjaya memintas pendahulu kejuaraan, Marc Marquez di selekoh terakhir.

Tempat ketiga jadi milik pelumba Yamaha, Maverick Vinales sementara rakan sepasukan, Valentino Rossi yang bermula di petak kedua, meraih tempat keempat.

Dalam perkembangan lain, pengurus pasukan Ducati, Davide Tardozzi, memaklumkan bahawa Dovizioso telah diterbangkan ke hospital di Coventry untuk menjalani pengimbasan.

“Dia hilang ingatan untuk tempoh 15 hingga 20 minit.

“Dovi turut mengalami kesakitan di pinggul kanan namun doktor mengesahkan tiada sebarang keretakan berlaku.

“Kita tunggu keputusan imbasan tersebut dan diharapkan dia bebas daripada sebarang masalah,” katanya.

Rins won by just 0.013 second, the closest finish in MotoGP history.
Fabio Quartararo and Andrea Dovizioso collided and crashed.

The British MotoGP 2019 saw Alex Rins (Ecstar Suzuki MotoGP) pip Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) at the finish line for the victory.

Marquez, Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha) and Rins stormed off the grid at the start, but it didn’t take long for Marquez to lead the race. Rins didn’t take long to overtake Rossi for second position not long after. He chased down Marquez and started shadowing the world champion for lap after lap.

Rins had used the Suzuki GSX-RR’s superior to close with Marquez’s Honda RC213V which had better acceleration and top speed.

The duo started trading places a number of times in the third act of the race, but Marquez fought back every single time. Rins stayed close and slipstreamed the Honda to pip Marquez by just 0.013 second. It was the closest finish in MotoGP’s history.

The battle allowed Maverick Vinalez (Monster Energy Yamaha) to catch up after dispatching his teammate Rossi many laps earlier. He would eventually finish in third, just 0.620 second behind Marquez.

The anticipated showdown among Marquez, Andrea Dovizioso (Mission Winnow Ducati) and Fabio Quartararo (PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team) did not materialize as Quartararo crashed at the start and his bike took out Dovizioso’s. The latter’s bike flew into the air upon contacting the Yamaha and threw him into the air. He landed heavily and continued rolling off the track, while his Ducati ruptured its fuel tank and exploded into flames. The Italian was sent to mobile clinic for checks afterwards.

Dovizioso’s team announced that although he had not suffered any broken bones, he’s sent to the Coventry Hospital for further checks after a severe blow to his head caused him to lose short term memory.

The newly resurfaced Silverstone provided the thrills expected, especially in a hectic Moto3 race.

Marc Marquez now leads the championship with 250 points, 78 points from Dovizioso at 172 points and Alex Rins with 149 points. There are seven rounds to go.

GP Austria: Selekoh Terakhir Bawa Perbezaan Di Antara Dovizioso Dan Marquez

Pelumba Ducati, Andrea Dozioso muncul juara di GP Austria selepas berjaya memintas pendahulu kejuaraan, Marc Marquez di selekoh terakhir.

Sementara pelumba Petronas Yamaha SRT, Fabio Quartararo, melengkapkan podium ditempat ketiga selepas berjaya mengetepikan cabaran wakil Yamaha, Valentino Rossi (keempat) dan Maverick Vinales (kelima).

Quartararo berjaya mendahului kelompok depan buat sementara waktu apabila Marquez dan Dovizioso tersasar di selekoh pertama namun mudah dipintas kedua-dua pelumba sejurus selepas itu.

Dovioso menamatkan perlumbaan dengan catatan masa 39 minit 34.771 saat.

Keputusan itu menandakan Red Bull Ring sebagai satu-satunya litar dalam kalendar MotoGP yang masih gagal ditawan Marquez.

Meskipun tidak tergolong dalam perebutan tempat pertama dan kedua, Quartararo menampilkan aksi konsisten sepanjang perlumbaan untuk merekodkan podium ketiganya musim ini.

Lebih manis, pelumba satelit Yamaha itu berjaya mengetepikan cabaran Rossi dan Vinales.

Marquez kini mendahului kejuaraan dengan 230 mata, 58 mata dihadapan Dovizioso diikuti Danilo Petruci ketiga dengan 136 mata.

Dalam perkembangan lain, Brad Binder berjaya merekodkan kemenangan manis buat KTM dalam aksi Moto2 setelah pengeluar motosikal Austria itu mengumumkan tidak lagi akan beraksi di segmen itu musim depan bagi memberi tumpuan kepada kelas premier.

Tempat kedua dan ketiga jadi milik Alex Marquez dan Jorge Navarro setelah Luca Marini dan Enea Bastini terlibat kemalangan dengan perlumbaan berbaki lima pusingan.

Aksi Moto3 pula menyaksikan pelumba VNE Snipers melengkapkan kemenangan satu dua menerusi Romano Fenati dan Tony Arbolino sementara wakil Petronas SRT, John McPhee melengkapkan podium dengan tempat ketiga.

Marquez Menyamai Rekod Mick Doohan, Zarco Bermula Di Petak Ketiga

Marc Marquez yang mengambil risiko dalam penggunaan tayar ketika sesi kelayakan di litar Brno semalam berjaya merekodkan petak pertama buat kali ke-58 sekaligus menyamai rekod disandang Mick Doohan.

Pelumba Repsol Honda itu memilih untuk menggunakan tayar jenis ‘slick’ meskipun hujan baharu sahaja berhenti dan berjaya mencatat masa 2 minit 02.753 saat – 2.524 saat lebih pantas berbanding Jack Miller daripada Pramac Ducati.

Sementara itu, pelumba Perancis, Johan Zarco – yang berjaya melepasi sesi kelayakan pertama buat julung kalinya musim ini – berjaya membawa pasukan KTM menduduki petak ketiga.

Dalam perkembangan sama, pencabar terdekat Marquez, Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) yang ketinggalan 58 mata di belakang, bakal bermula di petak keempat.

Yamaha Pesaing Utama Musim Ini, Bukan Ducati – Marquez

Pendahulu kejuaraan MotoGP, Marc Marquez menyifatkan pesaing utamanya memasuki separuh musim 2019 adalah pelumba Yamaha dan bukannya Ducati.

Pada masa sama, Petrucci bersetuju Vinales kini menjadi halangan utama Ducati.

“Ketika ini saya gembira dengan keadaan semasa, menduduki tempat ketiga keseluruhan/

“Tetapi masalahnya sekarang Vinales berjaya mengutip beberapa mata penting jadi untuk bersaing kami perlukan jentera yang lebih baik,” katanya.

5 Kali Juara Dunia Tapi Buat Silap Macam Pelumba Baru – Vinales

Pelumba Yamaha, Maverick Vinales, mahu Jorge Lorenzo memulakan perlumbaan seterusnya di kedudukan terakhir selepas kesilapannya menyebabkan tiga pelumba lain terpaksa bersara awal dalam GP Catalunya yang berlangsung semalam.

Senario itu menyebabkan Vinales menggesa FIM untuk menghukum Jorge Lorenzo susulan tindakan gopoh pelumba Sepanyol itu di selekoh sepuluh menyebabkan tiga pelumba lain gagal menamatkan perlumbaan.

Menurut Crash.Net, Vinales menyifatkan kesilapan Lorenzo umpama seorang pelumba baharu di samping menyebabkan pencabar kejuaraan, Andrea Dovizioso ketinggalan 25 mata dibelakang pendahulu, Marc Marquez.

“Lorenzo boleh memintas saya di bahagian jalan lurus. Dia hanya perlu bersabar untuk empat selekoh lagi.

“Dia menyebabkan empat pelumba (termasuk dirinya) terkeluar daripada perlumbaan. Jika hanya saya atau Valentino, kami tidak merebut kejuaraan jadi senario itu tidak terlalu teruk.

“Tetapi pada masa sama dia juga menyebabkan Andrea terkeluar. Bukan mudah untuk mengutip kembali 25 mata.

“Saya mengharapkan Race Direction mengambil tindakan tegas terhadap Lorenzo sepertimana yang saya hadapi,” jelas Vinales.

Sementara itu, pelumba berusia 24 tahun itu turut berasa tidak puas hati kerana Lorenzo – juara dunia lima kali – tidak mengutarakan permohonan maaf yang sewajarnya. Lorenzo kemudiannya mendakwa dia telah pergi ke garaj Monster Yamaha, tetapi tiada kelibat Vinales dan Rossi.

“Dia tidak datang untuk memohon maaf. Ketika pusingan pemanas, dia memaksa saya membuat potongan di bahagian dalam, saya tak faham untuk apa. Dia Mugello, dia ada masalah dengan Jack Miller ketika pusingan pemanas. Ini adalah kesilapan biasa bagi pelumba baharu tetapi dia bekas juara dunia lima kali,” tambahnya.

Catalunya MotoGP: Marc Marquez Wins as Jorge Lorenzo Brings Down Competition

His Repsol Honda teammate Jorge Lorenzo brought down three other riders who were challenging Marquez for the lead.
Fabio Quartararo secured his and Petronas Sepang Racing Team’s maiden podium finish.

Marc Marquez rode to his fourth victory of the season at the Catalunya MotoGP, after dodging the carnage behind him. His Repsol Honda teammate Jorge Lorenzo brought down three other riders who were challenging Marquez for the lead.

Mission Winnow Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso was leading the charge into the “bus stop” Turn 10, but Marquez outbraked him, causing him to take a wider line into the corner. Behind them, Lorenzo was slipstreamed the three riders in front of him and outbraked Maverick Vinalez who was behind Dovizioso. Going for the gap, Lorenzo suddenly found the Ducati man sweeping back towards the apex, so he hit his front brakes and went down, clipping Dovizioso’s rear wheel. Both the Ducati and Honda then slid into Vinalez’s Monster Energy Yamaha, sending clattering off the track.

Valentino Rossi who was following closely in fifth had nowhere to go and ran over Lorenzo’s Honda. He remounted his Yamaha and rode back to the pits and out of the race.

That bowling session allowed Marquez to escape the intentions of his closest pursuers and he held on to the lead all the way to the chequered flag. The win increased his championship lead over Dovizioso to 37 points, up from just 12.

Behind him, a fierce tussle developed among Danilo Petrucci (Mission Winnow Ducati), Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar) and pole-sitter Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Sepang Racing Team).

It was clearly apparent that the Petrucci’s Ducati was much slower in mid-corner compared to the Suzuki and Yamaha, as they closed right back in after Petrucci opened up a gap on the straights. At one point, a frustrated Rins lunged aggressively inside Petrucci, putting tyre marks on the latter’s suit’s right sleeve and shoulder.

Rins kept up the pressure but Petrucci would not yield, until the former ran into a turn too fast and almost outbraked himself into a highside. Rins fell back to 7^thand fought his way back up to 4^th, eventually.

With Petrucci’s tyres spent in defending from Rins, Quartararo pounced. Quartararo had secured his second pole of the season on Saturday but was again out-dragged into the first corner at the start. Aggressive riders then pushed him down to as far as 9^th. But he kept his patience and prevailed to score his and team’s maiden MotoGP podium, in their very first season.

Petrucci followed Quartararo in 3^rdfor his 3^rdpodium in three races. Jack Miller (Pramac Ducati) fought up the field to finish 5^th, escaping Cal Crutchlow’s (LCR Honda) aggressive push (the Englishman crashed immediately after overtaking Miller).

In 6^thwas Rins’s teammate Joan Mir. It was his best finish of the season. Pol Espargaro once again did well to finish in a high position for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in 7^th. Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda) was the top independent Honda rider again in 8^th. A resurgent Tito Rabat (Reale Avintia Ducati) came home in 9^th. Johann Zarco finally finished in the Top 10 on the other Red Bull KTM Factory Racing bike.

There were only three other finishers, Andrea Iannone (Factory Aprilia Gresini), Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Tech 3) and Sylvain Guintoli (Suzuki Ecstar).

11 riders did not take the checkered flag.

Italian MotoGP 2019: Emotional First Win for Danilo Petrucci

Danilo Petrucci wins his first and emotional MotoGP race at the Italian MotoGP.
It was a thrilling race from start to end, but it was only decided on the last lap.
Alex Rins fought hard, but his Suzuki was outgunned by the Ducatis and Honda.

Danilo Petrucci has come agonizingly close to a win on many occasions, but he couldn’t have scored his maiden MotoGP race at a better place than at the Italian round in Mugello. Petrucci was having a fever coming into the race, making the win even sweeter.

It was a nail-biting race from the start, with eight riders battling for the lead. The front group included Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda), Andrea Dovizioso (Mission Winnow Ducati), Danilo Petrucci (Mission Winnow Ducati), Jack Miller (Alma Pramac Racing), Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda), Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda), Fabio Quartaro (Petronas SRT) and Maverick Vinalez (Monster Energy Yamaha).

Marquez led into the first corner, stalked by the Ducati riders and Cal Cructchlow. But it soon developed into a slipstream race as the Ducatis made good on their supreme horsepower. Quartararo found himself swamped by the more powerful bikes and was ninth into the first turn.

The race settled down to a five-horse race by mid-point but Alex Rins overtook everyone and led the race for a number of laps, only to find his Suzuki outgunned by the Ducatis and Honda along Mugello’s long, long front straight.

Soon, Petrucci and Dovizioso overtook Marquez to set the pace. Behind Rins, Jack Miller started pushing, recording the fastest lap of the race. Unfortunately, the Australian made a mistake and crashed out at the chicanes.

That left Petrucci, Dovizioso, Marquez and Rins to battle it out until the end of the race.

Dovizioso stalked his teammate Petrucci before pouncing with three laps to go. But Petrucci fought back the next lap and held on until to start the last lap.

As Dovizioso slipstreamed Petrucci on the straight, Marquez played the role predator as he double-slipstreamed both rider and passed them into Turn One.

However, Marquez couldn’t hold on to his line and went wide mid-corner. Dovizioso slipped into the gap, but Petrucci didn’t give up and slotted inside Dovizioso turning it into three bikes abreast in the corner! Rins, holding ship in fourth probably thought he had a chance of the podium had all three crashed.

The move surprise Dovizioso who had to stand his bike up into Marquez, which forced Marquez into second and Dovizioso back into third.

Marquez kept up the pressure but Petrucci didn’t crack and held on through the last turn and past the finish line with the former in firmly in his slipstream.

Rins attempted a gutsy last gasp past on Dovizioso into the last turn but was again out-dragged to the checkered flag.

An emotional Petrucci apologized his teammate Dovizioso for the last lap move, but also thanked him for the support and assistance.

Nakagami rode a steady race to complete the top five. Maverick Vinalez fought up the field to cross the line in sixth, Mission Mission Winnow test rider Michele Pirro in seventh, Crutchlow faded to eighth at the end, Pol Espargaro made it to ninth on the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing bike, Quartararo eventually finishing tenth.

Valentino Rossi had a torrid weekend after qualifying 18^thbefore coming together with Francesco Bagnaia and running off the track. He managed to get back to racing but crashed out eventually.

MotoGP 2019: Marc Marquez Wins Honda’s 300th Victory

Honda had found more power in the engine.

Marc Marquez put on another dominating show at the French MotoGP 2019 to claim Honda’s 300^thvictory in the premier class.

Marquez had crashed multiple times over the weekend, including sliding off the track on Saturday after setting the pole position time in qualifying.

It turns out that Honda has given the four-time world champion more power from the engine wrapped in the 2019 chassis. According to the Spanish rider, it has allowed him to do away with risky late and hard braking. Consequently, he could use the softest tyre option in the race at the legendary Le Mans circuit.

“Last year we just tried to find the lap time on the brake point. This year maybe we lose a little on the brake point, but we gain in other areas and this is the right way because always the brake point means risk. And risk means it’s difficult to be constant,” he said when interviewed.

Jack Miller had challenged Marquez in the opening stages, but the Australian faded to finish third. Andrea Dovizioso moved in second at the finish line.

The world champion now leads the 2019 MotoGP championship table despite crashing out at Austin. Andrea Dovizioso is relegated to second ahead of Alex Rins.

Spanish MotoGP 2019: Marc Marquez Wins, Shattered Dreams for Fabio Quartararo

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) won the Spanish MotoGP 2019 race convincingly, but it was a heartache for Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamah SRT).

Staring from 3^rdon the grid, Marquez blasted into the lead with the two Petronas Yamaha SRT riders, polesitter Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli trailing behind into Turn 1.

As Marquez controlled the race from the front, both satellite Yamaha riders followed closely. But on Lap 8, the reigning world champion upped his pace and started to drop the pursuing duo.

But it wasn’t long before Morbidelli’s started dropping into the clutches of his teammate Quartararo and Maverick Vinalez (Monster Energy Yamaha). Quartararo passed Morbidelli in the next lap and hunted down Marquez. Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar) once again rode his way up the field and passed Vinalez for 4^th.

Although the Frenchman was only 0.1s slower than Marquez, the latter had opened up a 2-second lead.

Suddenly, Quartararo’s bike began to slow on Lap 16 and he pulled off the circuit to a stop. It was revealed later that his quickshifter had broken. With no way to reset the system to manual shifting, his and the team’s dream evaporated underneath the Spanish sunshine.

In the meantime, his Petronas Yamaha teammate Morbidelli started to slow drastically down the order to 6^th. Rins had overtaken him by that point into 2^ndwhile Vinalez had to defend from Andrea Dovizioso (Mission Winnow Ducati).

Vinalez held on to his nerve and position at the flag to complete the podium positions.

Dovizioso finished 4^th, followed by his teammate Danilo Petrucci to complete the Top 5.

Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha) worked his way up to 6^thafter a disastrous qualifying which saw him starting from 13^thon the grid. Morbidelli finally crossed the line in 7^th; Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) in 8^th; his teammate Takaaki Nakagami in 9^th; and wildcard rider Stefan Bradl rounded out the Top 10.

It was a race to forget for KTM as the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders Pol Espargaro came home in 13^thfollowed by his teammate Johann Zarco in 14^th. The Red Bull KTM Tech 3 Racing riders Miguel Oliveira took the flag in 18^thin front of Hafiz Syahrin in 19^th.

Pertahan juara, Marc Marquez, mendominasi perlumbaan di Litar Jerez sekaligus merekodkan kemenangan keduanya musim ini.

Marquez bangkit daripada kekecewaan di GP Amerika dua minggu lalu apabila gagal menamatkan perlumbaan ekoran kemalangan.

Pelumba Sepanyol itu berjaya memintas dua wakil Petronas Yamaha, Franco Morbidelli dan Fabio Quartararo sebaik perlumbaan dilepaskan untuk menduduki petak pertama.

Pelumba Repsol Honda itu kemudiannya mudah meninggalkan Franco Morbidelli dan Quartararo untuk mendahului perlumbaan sehingga ke pusingan terakhir.

Quartararo kemudiannya terpaksa bersara di pusingan ke-14 apabila jenteranya mengalami masalah gear.

Ketika itu, wakil Suzuki, Alex Rins – yang memenangi GP Amerika sebelum ini – memecut laju dari kedudukan ke sembilan untuk menduduki tempat kedua. Keputusan tersebut menyaksikan Rins kini hanya satu mata dibelakang Marquez dalam kedudukan kejuaraan keseluruhan.

Tempat ketiga menjadi milik seorang lagi wakil Sepanyol, Maverick Vinales dari pasukan Yamaha.

Pelumba veteran, Valentino Rossi – yang memulakan perlumbaan di kedudukan ke-13 – menghabiskan kebanyakkan masa perlumbaan di belakang Jack Miller namun berjaya memperbaiki kedudukan ke tempat ke-6 sebaik berjaya memintas wakil Pramac Ducati itu.

Sementara itu, Morbidelli – meskipun memulakan perlumbaan di kedudukan kedua – hilang lima kedudukan sekaligus menamatkan perlumbaan di tempat ke-7 di hadapan dua wakil LCR Honda, Cal Crutchlow dan Takaaki Nakagami.

Wildcard Honda, Stefan Bradl turut membuat kejutan menamatkan perlumbaan di tempat ke-10 di hadapan rakan sepasukan Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo yang menduduki tempat ke-12.

Dalam perkembangan sama, wakil tunggal negara, Hafizh Syahrin menamatkan perlumbaan di kedudukan terakhir (ke-19).

Marquez Akui Terkejut Dengan Kepantasan Quartararo, Morbidelli

Marc Marquez mahu merampas kedudukan Fabio Quartararo dalam perlumbaan di Jerez yang akan berlangsung hari ini.

Fabio Quartararo – pelumba pasukan Petronas Yamaha – membuat kejutan di Litar Jerez dalam aksi kelayakan semalam apabila menjadi pelumba termuda untuk menduduki petak pertama, sekaligus memecah rekod yang sebelum ini dipegang Marquez.

Sementara itu, rakan sepasukan Quartararo, Franco Morbidelli akan memulakan perlumbaan di petak kedua di hadapan Marquez.

Minggu lalu, Marquez kecundang di GP Amerika – meskipun mendominasi litar tersebut selama enam tahun sebelum ini – namun pelumba berusia 26 tahun itu berharap dapat kembali ke podium di laman sendiri.

“Saya masih gembira kerana dapat menduduki kelompok depan kerana bukan mudah untuk melakukan pintasan di litar ini.

“Saya tidak menjangkakan kedua pelumba di depan mampu mencatat masa yang sangat pantas! Tetapi saya akan terus berikan yang terbaik di perlumbaan nanti,” katanya.

Ketika Marquez melakar rekod sebagai pelumba termuda yang berjaya menduduki petak pertama, dia kemudiannya meneruskan kecemerlangan di Austin pada tahun 2013.

Quartararo berharap dapat mengikut langkah Marquez di samping memperbaiki rekod terbaiknya kedudukan ketujuh di MotoGP.

“Saya langsung tidak menjangkakan keputusan ini.

“Saya berasa teruja untuk memulakan perlumbaan di petak pertama,” tambahnya.
