Ketika Aprilia menayangkan Tuono 660 dan RS660 di EICMA tahun lalu terdapat sebuah lagi jentera yang turut ditayangkan namun terlindung di dalam ruang berkaca dan dipenuhi dengan tumbuhan.
Aprilia juga tidak mendedahkan sebarang informasi mengenai jentera tersebut namun hanya membiarkan orang ramai membuat spekulasi sendiri.
Bagaimanapun, bagi yang melihat dengan teliti jelas terpampang nama ‘Tuareg’ di bahagian sisi tangki di dalam balang kaca tersebut sekaligus menandakan usaha Aprilia untuk kembali ke segmen motosikal adventure.
Kini, media Itali, motoblog.it berjaya mendapatkan imej intipan yang didakwa merupakan Aprilia Tuareg 660 sedang menjalani ujian di negara itu.
Sekali imbas, Aprilia Tuareg 660 ini menampakkan bayangan Yamaha Tenere 700 dan Honda Africa Twin susulan elemen jentera enduro menerusi ketinggian tempat duduk, penggunaan tayar spoke, penghadang angin tinggi dan skid plate.
Tatkala Aprilia disahkan akan melancarkan RS660 tahun ini, tarikh pelancaran bagi Tuono 660 masih belum diumumkan sekaligus beri bayangan mungkin pengeluar motosikal Itali itu bercadang merasmikan Tuono 660 serentak bersama Tuareg 660 ini?

Most of us here in Malaysia are waiting eagerly for the arrival of the Aprilia RS 660, but all plans have been considerably delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the launch of its official production model. Earlier this month, eagle-eyed spotted came across a very unusual Aprilia naked bike testing at the Imola Circuit. Aprilia test rider, Lorenzo Savadori, was seen riding an Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory fitted with front wings from the Aprilia RS-GP bike. Agensi Anti-Doping Dunia (WADA) mahu penggantungan empat tahun dikenakan terhadap Andrea Iannone.
Iannone dikenakan penggantungan 18 bulan oleh FIM setelah didapati gagal ujian doping yang dijalankan terhadapnya secara rawak ketika di GP Malaysia, tahun lalu.
Bagaimanapun, dia berpeluang mengurangkan tempoh penggantungan menerusi Mahkamah Timbang Tara Sukan (CAS).
Meskipun begitu, dia kini berdepan laluan berliku tatkala WADA mahukan tindakan penggantungan maksimum – empat tahun – dikenakan terhadap pelumba Aprilia itu.
Perkara itu disahkan sendiri Presiden FIM, Jorge Viegas.
“WADA berasakan penggantungan – 18 bulan – itu tidak memadai,” jelasnya.
Senario ini sekaligus bakal memberi kesan besar terhadap karier Iannone yang mungkin perlu mengumumkan persaraan sekiranya keputusan CAS berpihak kepada WADA.
CAS dalam satu kenyataan turut menjelaskan bahawa mereka telah menerima rayuan daripada Iannone dan WADA berkenaan dengan keputusan diambil oleh FIM bertarikh 31 Mac 2020 dengan mengenakan penggantungan 18 bulan.
“Iannone mahu mencabar keputusan FIM sementara WADA mahukan penggantungan empat tahun terhadap pelumba itu.”
Iannone yang sebelum ini perlu menjalani penggantungan sehingga 16 Jun 2021, kini berdepan masa depan yang tidak menentu setelah ujian doping mendapati dia positif drostanolone, sejenis sterod dalam ujian sampel A dan B.
Aprilia Racing Team Gresini has confirmed that their current rider, Aleix Espargaro, will continue racing with them in MotoGP until the end of the 2022 season. A new two-year contract was inked with the Spaniard who was been riding and developing the Aprilia RS-GP machine since their return back in 2017. (more…)
