MotoGP 2018: Johann Zarco Back on Track?

Johann Zarco’s form seemed to have dropped after his crash at Le Mans.
Some speculated that success had gone to his head.
But he had just fought back to finish 2^nd fastest during the post-Czech GP tests yesterday.

Johann Zarco had a great start to the MotoGP 2018 season, when he finished 2^nd twice in four races and well ahead of the factory Movistar Yamaha team.

But after the heartbreaking crash at Le Mans in front of his countrymen, his form had a taken a dip somewhat. The sudden drop in performance even prompted his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 boss, Herve Poncharal, to state that Zarco had suddenly been basking too much in the MotoGP limelight and life in the fast lane, especially after meeting his current girlfriend. Others speculated that he might have contemplated about his mortality after the crash. These riders risk their lives and limbs for the sake of our entertainment, after all.

Poncharal knew the crash at Le Mans was different to any other and Zarco had dropped down the order, finishing 10^th in Italy, 7^th in Catalunya, 8^th in The Nederlands, 9^th in Germany and 7^th again in the Czech Republic races.

“I’m happy about the race, a good race, good pace, and we were able to fight at the beginning,” said an upbeat Zarco. “The soft rear tyre was a good choice, I’m happy for that, it helped me to fight at the beginning. Maybe I could have overtaken more riders at the beginning, but it was difficult. In the race I tried to do the best I can, and in the end for sure the tyre was getting used and it became a little bit more difficult, not because of the tyres just because we’re working on the bike to find the best feeling,” said the 2-time Moto2 champion when interviewed by MotoGP.

But if the results of the just-completed post-Brno tests were anything to come by, Zarco certainly hasn’t lost his motivation and certainly not his skills. With the help of his team on the 2017-spec Yamaha YZR-M1, the Frenchman completed a punishing number of 71 laps and emerged 2^nd fastest overall.

Zarco continued, “Now we are coming back on good things, from the Saturday we are quite fast, not enough to be on the podium but I understood good things this weekend so, I’m pretty happy and when everything isn’t perfect I’m taking points and that’s the main thing at the moment.”

He was honest about the dip in his performance, too, “… maybe in the last races I was racing like a guy who is going to buy the bread every morning. Now I can ride the Yamaha well and the answer is yes, I’m happy.”

A happy rider is a fast rider. The next round is at Austria this weekend, from 12^th August 2018.

Tech3 Akan Berpisah Dengan Yamaha Pada Tahun 2019

Tech3 tidak akan terus kekal sebagai pasukan satelit Yamaha pada tahun 2019.
Ketua pasukan, Herve Poncharal, mengatakan bahawa dia telah diberikan satu tawaran yang istimewa.
Dia bagaimanapun tidak mendedahkan sebarang maklumat tambahan.

MotoGP: Dani Pedrosa Kuasai Ujian Thailand!

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) telah menetapkan catatan masa yang terpantas di Litar Antarabangsa Buriram sewaktu sesi ujian tiga hari MotoGP di Thailand.
Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech3) tidak ketinggalan jauh di atas jentera Yamaha M1-nya.
Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) menduduki tangga ketiga setelah menyempurnakan lebih daripada 300 pusingan di Litar Antarabangsa Buriram.

MotoGP: Dani Pedrosa conquers Thai Test!

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) set the fastest lap ever around Buriram during the three-day MotoGP Thai test.

Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech3) was not too far off on board his developed Yamaha M1.

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) settled for third after having completed over 300 laps around the Buriram International Circuit.

After the concluding their first ever maiden MotoGP pre-season testing in Thailand, the entire MotoGP field are now well aware of the what the Buriram International Circuit has to offer. The rider that gained the most advantage was none other than Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda. (more…)

MotoGP: Marquez Tetapkan Masa Terpantas Di Buriram pada Hari 2

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) telah menyambut hari lahirnya yang ke-25 dengan penuh bergaya sekali semalam dengan mencipta rekod catatan masa terpantas di Buriram.
Dani Pedrosa tidak jauh ketinggalan di belakang, berada di kedudukan P2 dengan catatan masa 1:30.127.
Jack Miller (Alma Pramac Racing) terus mengagumkan semua orang dengan mencatatkan masa pusingan ketiga terpantas pada hari tersebut di atas jentera Ducatinya.

MotoGP: Hafizh Syahrin Gembira Dengan Kemajuan Hari Pertama

Ujian kali pertama di atas jentera Yamaha M1 untuk Hafizh Syahrin ternyata menunjukkan kemajuan yang ketara pada Ujian Buriram MotoGP 2018.
Walaupun berada di kedudukan terakhir, penunggang bagi pasukan Monster Yamaha Tech3 itu hanya berada 0.4 saat di belakang seorang lagi penunggang ‘rookie’, Tom Luthi (Marc VDS).
Hafizh Syahrin adalah penunggang Malaysia pertama yang mengemudi jentera MotoGP zaman moden.

MotoGP: Marquez sets fastest lap yet in Buriram on Day 2

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) celebrated his 25^th birthday with style yesterday after setting the fastest ever lap time in Buriram.

Dani Pedrosa was not too far behind sitting at P2 with a 1:30.127.

Jack Miller (Alma Pramac Racing) continues to impress everyone by setting the third fastest lap of the day with his Ducati.

The second day of the MotoGP 2018 pre-season test in Buriram saw a mixture of results but the boys from Repsol Honda sealed the deal by setting the fastest times of the day. Marc Marquez celebrated his 25^th birthday in style by being the first rider ever to lap the Buriram International Circuit below 1 minute 30 seconds at 1:29.969. (more…)

MotoGP: Hafizh Syahrin happy with first day progress

The first ever outing on the Yamaha M1 for Hafizh Syahrin proved to be quite a progress in the first day of the MotoGP Buriram Test 2018.

Despite finishing last, the Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider was only 0.4 seconds behind another rookie, Tom Luthi (Marc VDS).

Hafizh Syahrin is the first Malaysian ever to ride a modern day MotoGP bike.

The last minute replacement for the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team that is our very own Hafizh Syahrin seems quite happy with his performance in the first day of the Thailand pre-season testing. Held at the Buriram International Circuit, Hafizh has become the first South East Asian rider to ride a modern day MotoGP bike. (more…)
