Lewis Hamilton, Valentino Rossi Bertukar Jentera Di Valencia

Enam kali juara dunia Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton dan sembilan kali juara dunia MotoGP, Valentino Rossi, akhirnya bertukar karier di Litar Valencia, baru-baru ini.

Rossi diberi peluang memandu Mercedes W08 2017 sementara Hamilton menunggang Yamaha MotoGP YZR-M1 yang digunakan di MotoGP musim ini.

Hamilton dan Rossi sudah sekian lama mengidamkan peluang untuk mencuba jentera masing-masing dan kedua-duanya menjadi mentor antara satu sama lain apabila mereka turun beraksi di litar.

Hamilton menyifatkan saat tersebut sebagai mengagumkan.

“Cukup mengagumkan untuk melihat lagenda seperti Valentino (Rossi) memandu jentera tersebut. Saya sendiri berasa teruja kerana mengingatkan saya ketika mula-mula berpeluang memandu kereta F1,” jelasnya.

Pada masa sama, Hamilton turut tidak dapat menyembunyikan keterujaan menunggang jentera YZR-M1 bersama Rossi di litar.

“Saya sangat teruja dapat menunggang motosikal di litar sambil menyaksikan Rossi berada di hadapan,” tambahnya.

Sementara itu, Rossi turut menghamburkan perasaan sama.

“Saya sememangnya peminat Lewis (Hamilton). Ini adalah hari yang bersejarah kerana dua pelumba terbaik dalam sukan permotoran bukan sahaja dapat berjumpa antara satu sama lain malah dapat bekerjasama.

“Hari ini saya rasa seperti pemandu F1 yang sebenar.

“Saya juga berkesempatan untuk menunggang jentera M1 bersama Lewis di litar. Kami sangat bangga dapat berkongsi pengalaman ini,” jelasnya.

Ini bukan kali pertama Hamilton menguji jentera dua roada, tahun lalu di Jerez, dia berpeluang menguji Yamaha R1 M dengan bantuan pelumba Kejuaraan Superbike Dunia (WSBK), Michael van der Mark dan Alex Lowes.

Valentino Rossi will go to Formula 1 while Lewis Hamilton will take his MotoGP seat.

The swap will happen at Valencia circuit on 9th December. Rossi will drive Hamilton’s Mercedes AMG PETRONAS car. Hamilton on the other hand, will ride Rossi’s Monster Energy Yamaha YZR-M1. The deal was probably pushed through by both men’s sponsor Monster Energy.

Hamilton had expressed his wish to ride a MotoGP bike earlier in the year, but it was Repsol Honda who responded with the message “Bring it on, Bro” in a tweet. But it didn’t happen, as expected, as the Repsol riders are sponsored by Monster Energy’s biggest rival Red Bull.

It won’t be the first time Hamilton rides a motorcycle, although it’s his first time on a MotoGP bike. He had ridden the GYTR Yamaha YZF-R1M with PATA Yamaha WorldSBK riders Michael van Der Mark and Alex Lowes at Jerez. He tweeted “Valentino Rossi I need to come to the ranch ASAP.”

As for Rossi, it’s not the first time he’s behind the steering wheel of a four-wheeler, either. He competes in the Monza Rally annually and has won it seven times up to last year. He had also tested in Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari Formula 1 car many years ago. He impressed the multiple champion so much that Schumacher offered him a spot as a driver.

Valentino Rossi: Yamaha Crazy Not to Hold on to Fabio Quartararo

Valentino Rossi thinks Yamaha will be crazy if they don’t hold on to Fabio Quartararo.

Moving up to the factory squad means he will replace either Rossi or Vinalez.

Nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi says that Yamaha will be crazy if they do not hold on to MotoGP rookie sensation Fabio Quartararo from 2021 and beyond.

Speaking to autosport.com, Rossi says that Yamaha will “pull out all the stops” to make that happen. He added that it is very important that the factory retains Quartararo for the long term. It would mean a promotion to the full factory team in 2021, at the expense of either Rossi or Maverick Vinalez.

“I expected that he can be very fast, because he was always very fast from when he was young, but nobody expected like this,” said Rossi.

He added that that the Frenchman did something special and everybody would want him to ride for them.

“At 21 (years old) for sure Yamaha will want want Quartararo, if not it’s crazy.”

Quartararo has been the revelation of the 2019 season. His current form flies in the face of one-time critics who thought that it was a foolhardy for the PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team principal Dato’ Razlan Razali to have picked him over “other better riders.”

The French rider had not achieved much success in Moto2, except for a single win in Catalunya last year. His PETRONAS Yamaha SRT teammate Franco Morbidelli was the 2018 Moto2 champion, finishing way ahead in the championship.

However, he seemed to have found something which clicked in the satellite Yamaha and often finishing ahead of the factory riders. To date, he has scored four pole positions, finished on the podium five times and set two fastest laps.

Pelumba ikon MotoGP, Valentino Rossi mengakui tidak akan terkejut sekiranya Marc Marquez berjaya merekodkan sembilan kejuaraan dunia dalam kariernya.

Marquez mengesahkan kejuaraan MotoGP buat kali keenam di kelas premier selepas muncul juara di GP Thailand, baru-baru ini.

Dia kini memiliki rekod lapan kejuaraan termasuk satu kejuaraan dunia bagi segmen 125cc dan Moto2.

Kejayaan Marquez turut menerima pujian Rossi dan menjangkakan pelumba berusia 26 tahun itu akan memintas statusnya selaku pemegang sembilan kejuaraan dunia.

“Saya jangka Marquez mampu mengatasi rekod saya tetapi pada masa sama saya juga mahu memohon maaf kerana mensia-siakan beberapa peluang untuk muncul juara selepas itu.

“Tetapi Marquez menyebabkan saya hilang satu peluang untuk muncul juara buat kali ke-10,” jelas Rossi merujuk kepada musim 2015 yang berakhir dengan kontroversi.

Dalam perkembangan sama, Marquez enggan menafikan peluang untuk mengejar rekod 15 kejuaraan milik Giacomo Agostini.

The first day held a special surprise for the students with PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team rider Franco Morbidelli, fitness trainer Carlo Casabianca, VR46 Academy Moto3 rider Andrea Migno, and multiple flat track champion Marco Belli helping them to ride faster.

The participants were elated to find Morbidelli and Migno waiting for them at the Fisio Gym. The riders showed the students the proper work out regime of professional racers including stretching, spinning, Pilates and trying out the race simulator.

“In the morning the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp riders and I did some stretching, which is what we usually do at the VR46 Riders Academy. It’s important to do this, so you feel better with your body. Being supple is always important,” said Morbidelli afterwards.

“At the end, we did some Pilates, which is again something that will make your body more flexible. It’s important to keep this up, because it helps prevent injuries.”

The riders went to the Bar, Ristorante e Pizzeria da Rossi in Tavullia and spent time in Valentino Rossi’s hometown. They visited the Official Fan Club Valentino Rossi Tavullia and were handed presents by the Vice President, Flavio Fratesi, and shopped at the VR46 Store.

It was back to training afterwards at the VR46 Mtor Ranch. Marco Belli is the three-time English Flat Track, two-time American and European Flat Track Champion. He taught the students on correct riding position and bike control for their first flat track session aboard the YZ250F dirt bikes.

“The first day is always used to teach the guys about the correct body position and how to control the throttle. We got some very good feedback from them. There were no crashes, nobody got hurt, we saw a lot of speed, and – most importantly – they listened to the advice they’ve been given and put it into practice, which makes all the difference. They all have a good starting level. Therefore, starting from the next flat track training session, we will be riding on the oval and the full track – so we’re really happy!”

Sambar Petak Kedua, Rossi Akui Lebih Serasi Dengan Jentera

Valentino Rossi berjaya menempatkan dirinya di kelompok depan buat julung kalinya selepas GP Austiin, April lalu apabila berjaya menduduki petak kedua ketika sesi kelayakan di Silverstone, malam tadi.

Selepas merekodkan aksi hambar sebelum cuti musim panas, Rossi berjaya bangkit dengan tunggangan lebih baik sejak di Brno.

Menurut laporan Crash.net, Rossi akui dia berasa cukup gembira dengan jenteranya.

“Kami telah lakukan yang terbaik ketika sesi ujian bebas dan saya tahu sesi kelayakan kali ini amat penting kerana jika saya mahu menaiki podium, saya perlu memulakan perlumbaan di petak lima terbaik,” jelasnya.

Pada masa sama, Rossi mahu melupakan senario gagal menamatkan perlumbaan di tiga saingan berturut-turut.

“Saya masih kompetitif, ini sangat penting kerana sebelum cuti musim panas kami alami pelbagai masalah. Saya tidak berlumba selaju yang diharapkan, kami agak terumbang-ambing kerana saya gagal mencapai keserasian dengan jentera.

“Tetapi selepas Brno, kami melakukan pelbagai perubahan terhadap jentera saya dan semenjak itu, saya berjaya bangkit,” tambahnya.

Terdahulu, Marc Marquez berjaya menempah petak pertama sementara Jack Miller dan Fabio Quartararo mengisi slot ketiga dan keempat.

Saya Akan Siap Sedia Hadapi Musim 2020 – VR46

Selepas merekodkan prestasi mengecewakan musim ini, pelumba veteran, Valentino Rossi menggunakan cuti sebaik mungkin untuk kembali bangkit bagi separuh kedua musim 2019 MotoGP.

Jika dibandingkan dengan rakan sepasukan, Maverick Vinales, Rossi berdepan laluan lebih berliku kerana dia masih bergelut untuk mencapai keserasian dengan jentera M1.

MotoGP akan kembali bersambung hujung minggu ini di Brno, Czech Republic, litar yang membantu Rossi merekodkan kejuaraan sulungnya dalam kelas 125 pada 1996.

Pelumba berusia 40 tahun itu telah pun merekodkan tujuh kemenangan – kali terakhir pada 2009 – dan 14 podium sepanjang kariernya di Brno lantas dia tekad bangkit di litar keramatnya hujung minggu ini.

Menurut GPOne.com, The Doctor mahu berikan tumpuan sepenuhnya selepas berminggu berehat.”

“Ketika cuti musim panas, saya mengambil masa itu untuk berehat secukupnya tetapi saya kini tidak sabar untuk kembali ke atas M1.

“Saya perlu perbaiki prestasi semasa kerana kami juga akan bersiap sedia untuk menghadapi musim 2020, bermula dengan sesi ujian pada Isnin.

“Brno merupakan antara litar kegemaran saya. Saya mahu dapatkan keputusan yang baik,” jelasnya.

Lin Jarvis: Valentino Rossi is Not Yamaha’s Future

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP outfit boss Lin Jarvis dropped the bombshell during an interview with Motorsport.com. According to him, Valentino Rossi does not represent Yamaha’s future.

Rossi’s contract with the factory team ends in 2020. While Rossi is still very much revered by his fans and grudgingly respected by some of his peers, 2019 has proven to be the lowest point in his career. He had collected only 8 points from the last four races, with 3 non-finishes. He is currently behind his teammate Maverick Vinalez in the championship standings.

On the other hand, rookie sensation and satellite Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo has exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Jarvis said that Rossi had given Yamaha four championships in 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009 before switching to Ducati in 2009. That had complicated things upon his return to Yamaha.

“He (Rossi) is now in a different stage in his life and career. With all due respect, I feel that Rossi does not represent Yamaha’s future in MotoGP,” said Jarvis.

However, the team boss was quick to add that the option is open for Rossi to continue from 2021 onwards. The decision will made after bilateral discussions.

At the moment, the 10^thtitle still eludes Rossi.

Demikian kenyataan dibuat pengurus pasukan Yamaha MotoGP, Lin Jarvis mengenai masa depan pelumba veteran, Valentino Rossi yang kini telah mencecah usia empat dekad.

Kontrak Rossi bersama Yamaha akan berakhir pada 2020 namun dia gagal memenangi sebarang perlumbaan dalam tempoh dua tahun ini di samping sedang berdepan prestasi terumbang-ambing.

Rossi sekadar mengutip lapan mata dalam empat perlumbaan terakhir di samping tiga kali gagal menamatkan perlumbaan yang menyaksikan dia jatuh ke kedudukan keenam dalam carta kejuaraan dibelakang rakan sepasukan, Maverick Vinales.

Pelumba pasukan satellite Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo turut membayangi persembahan Rossi musim ini dengan mengungguli sesi kelayakan dan beberapa kali menaiki podium.

Menurut Motorsport.com, Jarvis tidak menafikan Rossi akan terus menyambung kontraknya bersama Yamaha namun mengakui juara dunia tujuh kali kelas premier itu tidak lagi mewakili masa depan pasukan itu.

“Valentino telah menghadiahkan kami empat kejuaraan sehingga 2010 – 2004,2005,2008 dan 2009 – jadi ketika dia berhijrah ke Ducati telah meninggalkan kesan yang besar pada kami sepertimana jika Marc Marquez meninggalkan Honda ketika ini.

“Dia (Rossi) kini berada di peringkat berbeza dalam hidup dan kariernya. Secara hormatnya, saya berasakan dia tidak lagi mewakili masa depan Yamaha dalam MotoGP.

“Ada kemungkinan dia akan terus bersama kami untuk satu atau dua tahun ini. Tetapi hubungan dua hala di antara Yamaha dan Rossi kini berbeza.

“Bukan berniat untuk mengatakan dia tidak lagi penting, tetapi fungsi dan watak dimainkan Rossi bersama Yamaha kini berbeza. Jadi saya harap dia akan terus menjadi duta Yamaha pada masa akan datang.”

Sementara itu, Jarvis berasakan sebarang keputusan mengenai persaraan Rossi akan ditentukan kedua-dua belah pihak.

“Keputusan akan datang selepas perbincangan di antara kedua-dua belah pihak. Apa yang pasti, saya yakin tidak akan berlaku sebarang konflik,” tambahnya.

Rossi Tidak Sehebat Dulu – Agostini

Pelumba legenda, Giacomo Agostini percaya Valentino Rossi tidak lagi setanding pesaing lain dalam siangan MotoGP namun berasakan pelumba Yamaha itu harus dipuji kerana masih menikmati kariernya di atas litar.

Agostino merangkul 15 kejuaraan Gran Prix di antara tahun 1966 hingga 1975 dengan lapand daripadanya hadir menerusi kelas 500cc.

Menurut temu bual dengan akhbar Quotidiano Nazionale, Agostino berasakan pelumba yang telah memasuki usia 40 tahun itu tidak lagi mampu menyaingi dengan pelumba lain yang jauh lebih muda.

Rossi gagal menamatkan saingan dalam tiga perlumbaan berturut-turut musim ini selepas terpaksa bersara di awal perlumbaan di Assen, minggu lalu.

“Valentino sedang berikan yang terbaik tetapi dia tidak mampu untuk menandingi pelumba yang lebih muda dan ini mencetuskan masalah.

“Zaman dia sudah berlalu tetapi seperti orang lain, saya juga mahu menyaksikan dia kembali menjadi nombor satu. Tetapi segalanya sudah jelas bahawa pesaing yang ada jauh lebih hebat.

“Bagaimanapun, Rossi tampak masih teruja untuk beraksi. Meskipun menduduki tempat keempat atau kelima, dia kelihatan gembira kerana masih berpeluang untuk bersaing,” jelas Agostini.

5 Kali Juara Dunia Tapi Buat Silap Macam Pelumba Baru – Vinales

Pelumba Yamaha, Maverick Vinales, mahu Jorge Lorenzo memulakan perlumbaan seterusnya di kedudukan terakhir selepas kesilapannya menyebabkan tiga pelumba lain terpaksa bersara awal dalam GP Catalunya yang berlangsung semalam.

Senario itu menyebabkan Vinales menggesa FIM untuk menghukum Jorge Lorenzo susulan tindakan gopoh pelumba Sepanyol itu di selekoh sepuluh menyebabkan tiga pelumba lain gagal menamatkan perlumbaan.

Menurut Crash.Net, Vinales menyifatkan kesilapan Lorenzo umpama seorang pelumba baharu di samping menyebabkan pencabar kejuaraan, Andrea Dovizioso ketinggalan 25 mata dibelakang pendahulu, Marc Marquez.

“Lorenzo boleh memintas saya di bahagian jalan lurus. Dia hanya perlu bersabar untuk empat selekoh lagi.

“Dia menyebabkan empat pelumba (termasuk dirinya) terkeluar daripada perlumbaan. Jika hanya saya atau Valentino, kami tidak merebut kejuaraan jadi senario itu tidak terlalu teruk.

“Tetapi pada masa sama dia juga menyebabkan Andrea terkeluar. Bukan mudah untuk mengutip kembali 25 mata.

“Saya mengharapkan Race Direction mengambil tindakan tegas terhadap Lorenzo sepertimana yang saya hadapi,” jelas Vinales.

Sementara itu, pelumba berusia 24 tahun itu turut berasa tidak puas hati kerana Lorenzo – juara dunia lima kali – tidak mengutarakan permohonan maaf yang sewajarnya. Lorenzo kemudiannya mendakwa dia telah pergi ke garaj Monster Yamaha, tetapi tiada kelibat Vinales dan Rossi.

“Dia tidak datang untuk memohon maaf. Ketika pusingan pemanas, dia memaksa saya membuat potongan di bahagian dalam, saya tak faham untuk apa. Dia Mugello, dia ada masalah dengan Jack Miller ketika pusingan pemanas. Ini adalah kesilapan biasa bagi pelumba baharu tetapi dia bekas juara dunia lima kali,” tambahnya.

What Happened to Valentino Rossi in Mugello?

Valentino Rossi struggled immensely at the Italian MotoGP round at Mugello.
He qualified a lowly 18^thafter making mistakes in Q1.
He went off the road once and finally crashed out during the race.

To recap, it was a horrible weekend for Valentino Rossi at Mugello. He qualified 18^thon the grid, went off the road once before ultimately crashing out altogether.

Rossi had won nine times at Mugello, after all. But even when Yamaha started suffering, he qualified in pole position and led the race in 2016, only to see his Yamaha YZR-M1’s engine blow up later in the race. A year later, he finished fourth despite an injury prior to the race. Lastly, he finished on the podium last year.\

But everything unraveled at the Italian MotoGP 2019.

Although it seems that Yamaha has solved the tyre degradation problem, the bike still lacks acceleration and top speed. This is especially critical at the Tuscany track where we saw how the Ducati and Honda took the top spots in qualifying.

In Q1, Rossi was caught together with Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar). Matters were complicated by the presence of Mission Winnow Ducati riders Andrea Dovizioso and Michele Pirro who found themselves in Q1, too, due to their botched FP3 session. Keep in mind that only two fastest riders will advance to Q2.

Rossi didn’t want to provide Rins with the all too important slipstream but neither did Rins to Rossi. Because if one did so, one rider will progress to Q2 while the other stays behind.

Then Rossi made a mistake at the end of the session. His bike developed a huge headshake while exiting a corner in fourth gear. When he braked for the last turn, the brake lever came back all the way to the handlebar. Rossi overshot the corner, thereby ruining his chance to set a good time and progress to Q2.

The headshake had forced the brake pads back like after how a mechanic pries the pads apart to re-install the calipers. Brembo has a system which brings the pads back in contact with the brake disc, but Rossi didn’t install it because the system yields a different feel at the brake lever.

In the end, Rins was stuck in 13^thwhile Rossi ended up in 18^th. Both Dovizioso and Pirro snuck into Q2.

Over to the race, Rossi came together with Joan Mir on the other Suzuki and both went into the gravel. The former kept the bike going and rejoined the race. He finally crashed at the Arrabbiata 2 corner from pushing too hard.
