Dengan pelonggaran sekatan perjalanan, State Railway of Thailand (SRT) telah mengumumkan ia akan mengembalikan kereta api ulang-alik Hat Yai-Padang Besar kembali kepada operasi biasa seperti dua tahun lalu.

Perkhidmatan ini telah berhenti operasinya sejak 18 March 2020 iaitu hari pertama Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) disebabkan wabak Covid-19.

Kereta api itu membawa penumpang dari Padang Besar, Perlis ke stesen Hat Yai dalam tempoh masa lebh kurang satu jam.

Hat Yai merupakan pekan terbesar di Thailand Selatan yang paling dekat dengan Malaysia dan sangat terkenal dalam kalangan pelancong untuk pasar terapungnya, makanan Thai dan kraftangan.

Tiket sehala dari Padang Besar ke Hat Yai berharga THB50 (RM6).

Menurut jadual, hanya dua kereta api ulang-alik setiap hari, oleh itu anda digalakkan membuat tempahan tiket awal di laman web SRT.

From Padang Besar to Hat Yai, there are only two timings: train number 948 departing at 9.55am (Malaysia time) and train number 950 at 4.40pm (Malaysia time).

Untuk ke stesen Padang Besar, anda boleh memilih untuk menaiki KTM Komuter (yang datang dari Butterworth, Pulau Pinang) atau tren ETS (yang datang dari sejauh Kuala Lumpur dan Gemas, Negeri Sembilan) yang berakhir di Padang Besar.

Anda boleh pulang menggunakan KTM Komuter ataupun ETS dari stesen Padang Besar.

Sepang Racing Team (SRT) waves goodbye to MotoGP as the team will now venture into the upcoming 2022 season as RNF MotoGP Racing.

RNF Racing has signed a five-year deal with IRTA that sees the rebranded team continue participating in the premier class as an Independent Team, spearheaded by team principal Datuk Razlan Razali.

“It has been a whirlwind journey for us.

“In recent months, we have put all our efforts to reset, rebrand and relaunch as a fresh and stronger MotoGP team.

“I would like to thank Carmelo for his continued trust and confidence in me to begin this second chapter with a newly rebuilt team competing in MotoGP’s premier class for the next five years.

“For the season ahead, under the new entity of RNF MotoGP Racing, the rebranded team will continue our blueprint that has proven success before,” said Razlan in a statement.

Despite the uncertainties, especially when the team is yet to name the other rider that will race alongside Andrea Dovizioso in 2022, Razlan is adamant RNF Racing is ready to take up the challenge.

“Expectations will be high, and we will push hard to meet these aspirations. Equipped with the experience we gained and having achieved multiple highlights in the past, we look forward to the 2022 season as an even stronger team entry,” he added.

SRT entered the premier class in 2019 with a bang thanks to Fabio Quartararo, who recorded seven podiums, while Franco Morbidelli consistently finishes the majority of the race in the top five.

Quartararo then went on to win Rookie of the Year in his debut season.

SRT then recorded six premier class win last season, with both Quartararo and Morbidelli sharing three apiece.

Era baharu bermula bagi pasukan kendalian Datuk Razlan Razali setelah Sepang Racing Team (SRT) kini dijenamakan semula sebagai RNF MotoGP Racing.

Penjenamaan semula ini turut menyaksikan RNF Racing menandatangani perjanjian lima tahun bersama IRTA bagi meneruskan cabaran selaku Independent Team di Kejuaraan Dunia FIM MotoGP.

Meskipun membawa nama baharu, RNF Racing akan terus diterajui oleh Datuk Razlan.

“Pengembaraan kami berjalan dengan cukup pantas.

“Dalam tempoh kurang beberapa bulan, kami telah tetapkan semula segala usaha kemudian dijenamakan semula sebagai sebuah pasukan MotoGP yang lebih kukuh dan segar.

“Saya mahu mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Carmelo (Ezpeleta) atas kepercayaan dan keyakinan diberikan kepada saya untuk memulakan babak kedua dengan pasukan serba baharu di kelas MotoGP untuk lima tahun akan datang.

“Bermula dengan musim depan, RNF Racing akan meneruskan rangka tindakan sama.

“Dengan pengalaman dan pencapaian sebelum ini, kami tidak sabar untuk memulakan kempen 2022 dengan pasukan yang lebih kuat,” jelas Razlan.

Penjenamaan semula ini telah pun dijangka berlaku sebelum ini setelah penaja utama (title sponsor) SRT, Petronas membuat kejutan apabila tidak akan meneruskan kerjasama sebaik tamat musim 2021.

Langkah sama turut diumumkan pihak Litar Antarabangsa Sepang (SIC) yang tidak lagi bersama SRT dalam apa jua senario memasuki musim 2022.

Sementara itu, RNF Racing akan meneruskan cabaran 2022 bersama Andrea Dovizioso yang telah pun disahkan sebagai pelumba baharu dan akan turut membantu SRT menghabiskan baki saingan musim ini.

Bagaimanapun, belum dikenal pasti siapaka yang bakal diumumkan sebagai rakan sepasukan Dovizioso musim depan.

Pelumba berpengalaman, Andrea Dovizioso kembali ke MotoGP setelah sah diumumkan sebagai pelumba baharu Petronas Sepang Racing Team (SRT).

Bekas pelumba Ducati itu akan membantu SRT menghabiskan baki saingan musim ini bersama rakan sepasukan, Valentino Rossi.

Dovizioso juga akan turut bersama pengendali, Datuk Razlan Razali dan pengurus pasukan Johan Stigefelt membawa cabaran ke musim 2022.

Menariknya, pelumba Itali itu mengakui dia pernah berhasrat untuk sertai factory Yamaha pada 2013 namun peluang itu terpadam selepas Rossi kembali ke Yamaha susulan bergelut di Ducati musim sebelumnya.

“Selepas musim yang baik pada 2012 (bersama Monster Yamaha Tech3), impian sayan adalah sertai pasukan factory Yamaha. Namun itu tidak berlaku,” jelasnya.

Sementara itu, Yamaha turut mengumumkan Franco Morbidelli sebagai pelumba baharu pasukan factory menggantikan Maverick Vinales.

Morbidelli telah pun menandatangani kontrak dua tahun sehingga 2023.

After the previous announcement by Sepang International Circuit (SIC), Petronas Sepang Racing Team (SRT) has officially announced that they are pulling out from every class of racing at the end of 2021 MotoGP World Championship season.

SRT has confirmed that it will conclude all activities both racing and non-racing at the end of the 2021 World Championship season together with Petronas Sprinta Racing in Moto2 and Moto3.

However, SRT Team Principal Razlan Razali and Team Director Johan Stigefelt, will continue to march forward into the 2022 season with a new entity set to be unveiled on September 16 at Misano.

“The team will race its final race in Valencia and we thank all our crew, riders, fans and partners for their support.

“In particular, we thank PETRONAS, with whom none of this would have been possible. Together we pushed the PETRONAS brand and Malaysian expertise to the forefront of the grid and captured unprecedented brand exposure and coverage, exponentially surpassing all expectations.

“We also thank Sepang International Circuit for their vision and support of upcoming Malaysian talent over a long period.

“Our collective dream was to have a Malaysian rider competing for podiums in the MotoGP World Championship.

“Sadly, we were not able to achieve this in the short life of our squad, but we can reflect upon tremendous success by every other measure.

“Our final season has not reached its conclusion yet and we continue to strive for the very best results possible across all three classes. Thank you all,” said Razlan in a statement.

Meanwhile, SRT will continue to compete in the remaining seven rounds of MotoGP starting with this weekend at Silverstone.

Malaysian rider, Adam Norrodin is given the chance to represent Petronas Sprinta Racing in the Moto2 category, replacing Jake Dixon, who will be making his debut in the premier class alongside Valentino Rossi.

Dixon will feature in front of his home crowd as he seeks the opportunity to be Razlan’s new team rider for the upcoming 2022 season.

Petronas Sepang Racing Team (SRT) mengesahkan bahawa pasukan itu akan menamatkan segala penyertaan dalam kelas MotoGP, Moto2 dan Moto3 setelah berakhirnya musim 2021.

Bagaimanapun, Prinsipal SRT, Datuk Razlan Razali dan Pengurus Pasukan, Johan Stigefelt akan meneruskan usaha dalam kategori MotoGP dengan entiti baharu yang akan diumumkan pada 16 September ini di Misano.

“Perlumbaan terakhir SRT adalah di Valencia dan untuk itu kami mengucapkan terima kasih kepada semua kru, pelumba, peminat dan rakan kongsi atas sokongan selama ini.

“Terutamanya, terima kasih kepada PETRONAS, kerana mereka menjadikan segalanya dapat dilaksanakan. Bersama-sama kami berjaya mengetengahkan jenama PETRONAS dan kepakaran Malaysia di pentas antarabangsa melebihi segala jangkaan.

“Kami juga mahu berterima kasih kepada Litar Antarabangsa Sepang (SIC) atas sokongan mereka dalam membangunkan bakat muda Malaysia.

“Sasaran utama kami adalah melahirkan pelumba Malaysia yang akan beraksi di Kejuaraan Dunia MotoGP tetapi kami berdukacita kerana tidak dapat mencapai matlamat ini,” jelas Razlan.

Setakat GP Britain 2021, SRT telah pun merekodkan 12 petak pertama, 16 podium dan enam kemenangan di kelas MotoGP diikuti satu petak pertama dan satu podium di Moto2 manakala kategori Moto3 menyaksikan enam petak pertama diraih, 12 podium dan dua kemenangan

Pengurus pasukan ZK Racing, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, telah pun mengesahkan bahawa pelumba di FIM CEV, Adam Norrodin akan menggantikan Jake Dixon dalam perlumbaan Moto2 di Silverstone, hujung minggu ini.

Perkara itu dimaklumkan menerusi Facebook Live bekas pelumba negara itu di akaun Facebook miliknya.

Bagaimanapun, menurut Zulfahmi, tiada sasaran diletakkan setakat ini sehinggalah Adam dapat merasa jentera Triumph 765 Moto2 itu nanti.

“Kategori Moto2 sememangnya sangat susah sebab ramai rider laju.

“Tapi jentera Petronas Sprinta Racing sangat kompetitif jadi sekarang ni bergantung pada “feeling” Adam.

“Selepas itu baru kita akan nilai apa sasaran untuk dia,” jelas Zulfahmi.

Berita mengenai Adam akan menggantikan Dixon di pusingan GP Britain Moto2 hujung minggu ini mula tersebar beberapa hari lalu namun setakat ini masih tiada pengesahan dari pihak Petronas Sepang Racing Team (SRT).

Dixon pula akan diberi peluang menguji jentera YZR-M1 dalam kelas premier bersama-sama Valentino Rossi dalam usaha merebut slot ke MotoGP bagi musim 2022.

Sementara itu, Zulfahmi turut mendedahkan pihaknya akan mengadakan perbincangan dengan Litar Antarabangsa Sepang (SIC) bagi menentukan haluan musim 2022.

Pelumba Petronas Sprinta Racing Moto3, Darryn Binder, akan diberi peluang menguji jentera Yamaha M1 di Brno, Republik Czech.

Keputusan itu bukan satu kejutan tatkala adik kepada Brad Binder itu dicanang akan naik ke kelas premier bersama pasukan satelit Yamaha SRT bagi mengisi kekosongan yang akan ditinggalkan Valentino Rossi dan Franco Morbidelli memasuki musim 2022.

Rossi disahkan akan bersara hujung musim ini sementara Franco Morbidelli didakwa akan diangkat ke pasukan factory Yamaha.

Pada masa sama, Binder juga dilaporkan akan digandingkan dengan pelumba Sprinta Racing Moto2, Jake Dixon.

Sejauh mana dakwaan itu masih belum dapat dipastikan apatah lagi pelumba Britain itu jauh ketinggalan dalam kejuaraan dunia Moto2 di tempat ke-19 berbanding rakan sepasukan, Xavi Vierge, di tempat ke-10, ketika ini.

Sekiranya gandingan Binder dan Dixon disahkan, kedua-duanya bakal menjadi pelumba baharu bagi pasukan kendalian Datuk Razlan Razali dan Johan Stigefelt yang akan bergerak sebagai entiti baharu musim depan setelah kerjasama dengan Petronas (selaku penaja utama) dan SIC berakhir hujung musim ini.

Meskipun SRT memberi peluang kepada pelumba WorldSBK, Garret Gerloff, untuk dua pusingan sebelum ini, pelumba itu dilihat gagal menarik perhatian Yamaha.

Sementara itu, Toprak Razgatlioglu, dikatakan turut menolak tawaran sertai SRT dan telah pun menandatangani kontrak lanjutan dua tahun dalam usaha merebut kejuaraan WorldSBK.

Razgatlioglu hanya ketinggalan tiga mata dibelakang pendahulu, Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki) setelah merekodkan lima kemenangan daripada 10 perlumbaan. – GPOne

Sepang Racing Team (SRT) will continue to compete in the 2022 MotoGP season as an independent team, as confirmed by Sepang International Circuit (SIC) CEO Azhan Shafriman Hanif.

According to Azhan, while SRT will no longer be associated with SIC, the decision to rebrand the MotoGP team for 2022 is up to Datuk Razlan Razali.

“I leave it to Datuk Razlan to comment on this so that we (SIC) get a clearer picture of how he wants to lead the team in MotoGP after this.

“But as I mentioned before, they (SRT) will move as a new entity and no longer under SIC. Everything rests on Datuk Razlan’s shoulders moving forward,” said Azhan.

However, Azhan stresses that while the partnership with SRT has ended, SIC has no plans to set up a new MotoGP team.

“There are no plans yet; as you know, forming a team in the World Championship takes a lot of budget and sponsorship.

“But looking at the current situation, our focus is to look back at our program. Our concentration will be on MiniGP to CEV.

“Get our boys ready and competitive. I’m sure we will get there, God willing,” he added.

Nonetheless, SIC will continue to focus on riders development, especially talents in SIC MiniGP and CEV.

“Looking at the current situation, we need to review our program. Our focus is to bring riders from MiniGP to CEV,” he added.

Baru-baru ini, berlaku kejutan melibatkan pasukan Sepang Racing Team (SRT) apabila Petronas mengumumkan pengunduran selaku penaja utama (title sponsor).

Perkara itu kemudiannya disahkan pihak Litar Antarabangsa Sepang (SIC) menerusi satu kenyataan media.

Kami kemudiannya berpeluang menemu bual Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif SIC, Azhan Shafriman Hanif mengenai kedudukan SIC bersama SRT, semalam.

Menurut Azhan, kerjasama di antara SIC dan SRT tidak akan diteruskan memasuki musim 2022 namun terserah kepada prinsipal pasukan, Datuk Razlan Razali untuk menentukan sama ada perlunya penjenamaan semula.

“Saya serahkan kepada Datuk Razlan untuk memberikan komen mengenai perkara ini, supaya kami (SIC) mendapat gambaran yang lebih jelas bagaimana dia mahu membawa pasukan di MotoGP selepas ini.

“Tapi seperti yang saya utarakan sebelum ini, mereka (SRT) akan bergerak sebagai entiti baharu dan tidak lagi dibawah SIC. Segalanya terletak pada bahu Datuk Razlan selepas ini” jelasnya.

Bagaimanapun, Azhan turut menjelaskan SIC tidak merancang mewujudkan pasukan MotoGP meskipun kerjasama dengan SRT berakhir.

“Buat masa ini tiada perancangan lagi kerana perlukan bajet dan tajaan besar untuk tubuhkan pasukan di kejuaraan dunia.

“Namun melihat kepada situasi semasa, kami perlu melihat semula program kami, fokus kami adalah terhadap membawa pelumba dari MiniGP kepada CEV terlebih dahulu.

“Mempersiapkan mereka ini dahulu sebelum membawa mereka bertanding di Kejuaraan Dunia.

“Bila dah betul-betul bersedia, saya yakin kami akan sampai ke peringkat itu,” tambahnya.

Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and Petronas have mutually agreed to end their partnership as title sponsor of Petronas Sepang Racing Team (SRT).

The official announcement came after an initial report by motorsport.com that Petronas is seeking to withdraw its sponsorship from SRT on Friday.

The Malaysian giant oil company has been the title partner to SIC since 2018, with Petronas Sprinta Racing in Moto2 and Moto3 before the project was expanded to MotoGP with SRT.

“SIC wishes to thank Petronas for the unwavering support during the partnership and a remarkable journey together.

“We respect Petronas decision and mutually agreed that this partnership had accomplished its purpose and objectives. We have enjoyed a meaningful partnership with great achievements and memorable moments with the team.

“I believe this is not the end of our collaboration in motorsports as we continue our quest in nurturing Malaysia’s motorsports talents,” said Azhan Shafriman Hanif, Chief Executive Officer of SIC.

Meanwhile, Datin Anita Azrina Abdul Aziz, Petronas Head of Strategic Communications, lamented that it was the right time to conclude the partnership.

“We entered into this partnership with SIC to showcase our R&D capabilities, and we are proud that PETRONAS Fluid Technology Solutions have been instrumental towards establishing the team’s status as a championship contender.

“Together, we have created some standout moments in the sport, serving as an indication that we have achieved what we set out to do, and we feel it is the right time for us to conclude the partnership.

“On behalf of PETRONAS, we would like to express our gratitude to SIC for their commitment towards ensuring the success of the partnership,” she explained.

Meanwhile, SIC suggests that SRT will continue in MotoGP from 2022 under a new independent entity, with an official announcement to be made soon, including the dissolution of Moto2 and Moto3.

Malaysian oil giant Petronas reportedly decided to pull the plug as title sponsor for Sepang Racing Team (SRT) in MotoGP starting next season.

According to motorsport.com, SRT will also set to abandon its Moto2 and Moto3 project in an effort to protect the MotoGP team.

Moreover, it is understood that Yamaha has renegotiated its current deal with SRT, whereby two ‘B-spec’ M1 will be provided for the 2022 season instead of one factory-spec and one A-spec the team is running on at the moment.

SRT is still in a dilemma ever since Maverick Vinales decided to quit the factory Yamaha team at the end of the season, while Franco Morbidelli is expected to make the jump to the factory team as a replacement.

Meanwhile, veteran rider and 9th world champion, Valentino Rossi, is set to retire at the end of the season, leaving team principal Datuk Razlan Razali the pressure to look for two new riders for the 2022 season.

Raul Fernandez from KTM Ajo was earlier seen as a top candidate before Team Orange decided to promote him to Tech3 MotoGP.

Rossi protege Marco Bezzechi was next in line to join SRT, but the latest development suggests he will now move up to the premier class with VR46 Ducati alongside Luca Marini.
