If the Ducati DesertX already turned heads with its distinctive design, the Rally version is set to elevate the off-road experience with a host of notable enhancements. Its unique appearance, reminiscent of the Cagiva Elefante, features a towering stance and muscular side panels. However, it seems that the stock DesertX may not be as bash-friendly as some riders would prefer, and this is precisely where the Rally steps in to address these concerns.

One of the standout improvements is the elongated, motocross-style front fender that graces the new model. This significant addition is complemented by robust fork protectors, extending upward to shield the upper tubes and embrace the stanchions, reducing the likelihood of oil seal damage – a welcome sight for off-road adventurers.

Another alteration to note is the revamped windshield, which, though maintaining its characteristic polka-dot pattern, appears taller compared to the standard DesertX. For those who dare to venture further off the beaten path, a new engine bash plate takes center stage. Reinforced with the trellis chassis and featuring a forged carbon construction, it ensures durability while adding a touch of rugged sophistication.

Ducatisti will also appreciate the inclusion of the Rally saddle from the accessory catalog. This dual-tone (red-black) flat, single-piece seat replaces the stock split setup, providing greater ease of movement when navigating through dirt and challenging landscapes. While the seat height may see a slight increase, the overall riding experience and triangle should remain largely unchanged.

When it comes to the bike’s rear, it bears a familiar look, with the fender and lights closely resembling those found on the existing DesertX. However, keen-eyed observers will spot the addition of side racks as the only noteworthy update.

To top it all off, the Ducati DesertX Rally flaunts a striking special livery that is sure to turn heads. The keen observer will notice a hidden red hue beneath the surface of the covered plastics, while the subframe and pillion grab rail proudly sport a vibrant red finish. In contrast, the tank and rear fender appear to embrace a sleek white shade, resulting in a captivating dual-tone livery that showcases Ducati’s signature red in all its glory.

The newest family member of the Multistrada, the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally has entered production and is set to arrived global dealership from February.

  • The 2023 Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally features a new adaptive ride height function similar to the Harley-Davidson Pan America.
  • Equipped with longer suspension travel and a bigger fuel tank.

The Borgo Panigale factory announced the off-road-focused edition late in 2022 with the production only to begin this year.

While it carries the same Granturismo V4 engine as the base model, the Multistrada V4 Rally offers greater off-road capabilities thanks to an increase of 30mm of wheel travel on the Showa Skyhook suspension.

Also new on the Rally edition is an off-road specific mode that cuts the peak power to just 114hp – from the 170 peak power – which also reduced the electronic intervention particularly the traction control. This allows the Rally to offer better slip and slide while off-road.

In addition, the Rally also features a massive 30-liter fuel tank and low-speed deactivation of the engine’s rear cylinder bank.

Nonetheless, the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally feature much of its equipment from the standard Multistrada V4 including a 6.5-inch TFT display.

According to Ducati, the Rally comes in three variants; Adventure Radar, Adventure Radar & Travel and Full Adventure.

The 2023 Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally are available in ‘Ducati Red’ and ‘Brushed Aluminium and Black’ colour scheme.

Two new special editions Tiger 900 is set to join Triumph’s lineup for 2023, according to the latest vehicle certification filed in Australia.

  • Latest certification confirmed the arrival of two special edition models.
  • The special Aragon Edition Tiger is to celebrate Ivan Cervantes 2022 success.

The special edition models will comprise the road-going Tiger 900 GT and the off-road equipped Tiger 900 Rally.

According to reports, it is likely that the pair is to celebrate Ivan Cervantes’ victory at the 2022 Baja Aragon.

That said, the special edition Tiger 900 GT and Rally is also likely to feature the same racing livery on the Tiger 900 Rally Pro ridden by Cervantes back in July.

Interestingly, the document reveals that the Tiger 900 GT Aragon Edition is 1.8kg heavier than the Tiger 900 GT Pro while the Tiger 900 Rally Aragon Edition is 3.1kg heavier than the Tiger 900 Pro.

While the certification did not explain the reason behind the extra weight, both Aragon Edition is likely equipped with extra goodies.

Mechanically, both the Tiger 900 GT Pro and Tiger 900 Rally Pro features the same 888cc inline triple.

Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Voge has introduced the 2022 Valico 300 Rally variant in Italy.

  • the 300 Rally now joins the base strim in Italy.
  • features 292cc single-cylinder engine that puts out 28.6hp and 25Nm.

The Rally variant will now join the based model launched just one month ago in the country.

Powered by the same engine as the standard trim, the Valico 300 Rally features a 292cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine that pumps a respectable 28.6hp @ 9,000rpm and 25Nm @ 6,500rpm.

The drivetrain is mated to a six-speed manual transmission with the engine fed from an 11L fuel tank. In addition, Voge claimed that the Rally could reach around 300 kilometres with a full tank of gas.

Weighs just 150kg (dry), the Rally is suitable for not only experienced riders but also beginners.

Other notable features include:

  • digital LCD instrument cluster
  • USB port
  • handleguards
  • halogen headlamps with LED taillights

According to Voge, the Valico 300 Rally is available in Italy for a recommended selling price of EUR4,440 (RM20.4k).

  • A Honda X-Adv had won in the 2019 Gibraltar Race ahead of other dual-purpose bikes.

  • It took the middleweight category and placed seventh overall.

  • A competitor will ride an X-Adv in the upcoming GIVI Rimba Raid at Janda Baik 2019.

A Honda X-Adv had won in the 2019 Gibraltar Race ahead of other dual-purpose bikes.

Renato Zocchi steered the X-Adv to the Class 2 victory in the especially tough 7,000-km rally through Europe. His class win also puts him as seventh overall in the event, beating our scores of purpose-built dirtbikes and adventure-tourers.

Class 2 is designated to motorcycles between 601 to 950cc, hence includes some menacing middleweight adventure bikes such as the KTM 790 Adventure R, KTM 690 Enduro, KTM 950 Super Enduro, Husqvarna 701 Enduro, BMW F 800 GS Adventure and many more.

While the X-Adv was specially prepared for the race, the bike was reliable. Competitors faced various terrains including dirt roads, rocky mule tracks, river crossings, mud and grass. Zocchi kept the DCT (dual clutch transmission) and G (gravel) mode. The suspension was modified to provide extra wheel travel and ground clearance. The footboards remained in place.

The route covered several countries, taking the riders from the Baltic Sea to the Atlantic Ocean coast. It began in Gdansk, Poland, passed through the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, France and finally ending at the Cape Finiterre Lighthouse in Spain.

The results were surprising, of course but wait, you’ll get to witness a Honda X-Adv taking part in the GIVI Rimba Raid Janda Baik 2019 from 27th to 28th July!

  • Rali Dakar 2019 akan bermula dari 7 Januari 2019.

  • The 2019 Dakar Rally begins from 7thJanuary 2019.

  • It is the world’s toughest off-road endurance race.

  • However, the rally sees its largest participation in its history.

The countdown to the 2019 Dakar Rally has begun. “The Dakar” is known as the world’s toughest off-road endurance race.

The Rally’s 41stedition will begin on 7thJanuary 2019. 534 competitors on motorcycles, cars, UTVs, trucks, SxS and motorcycles will then begin the 5000-km trek. They will climb from sea level to 5000 metres of elevation over sand dunes, rocks and everything in between. The distance includes 3000-km of intense special stages through extreme weather conditions. It’s all designed to test the riders’ mental and physical perseverance, besides machine endurance.

However, there is a change for the upcoming rally. Held in Peru only, and will not involve neighbouring countries of Chile, Argentina and Bolivia. On the positive side, such an arrangement avoids the border complications that have dogged the earlier editions.

The 2019 Dakar Rally breaks a number of its own records. The rookie class sees the largest number of participants. The women’s class is also the largest yet with 17 participants. The new “Original by Motul Class” has 34 entries. Originally known as the “Malle Moto class,” the entrants can only fix their vehicles with the limited amount of supplies that can fit into a small trunk. (Malle is the French word for trunk.)

A new addition is the “half marathon.” Cars, trucks and SxS’s that have pulled out earlier by the opening half will get a second chance to complete the race. The category begins after the half-time rest day but as a separate classification. The competitors will wear orange plates and will not be included in the top 25 starters.

Do check in with us from time to time as we bring you the happenings from this most-punishing race.

  • Rimba Raid returns to Mat Daling from 6th to 8th July 2018.

  • There currently 200 registered participants representing 13 countries.

  • A rally kit handover was held together with GIVI Asia and Ducati Malaysia on 23rd June 2018.

If the previous editions of Rimba Raid were exciting, the latest iteration called GIVI Rimba Raid Mat Daling will be mind-blowing. Please click on the link below for our coverage of Rimba Raid at Janda Baik, Pahang earlier this year.

Rimba Raid @ Janda Baik 2018 a Rousing Success

Rimba Raid could probably regard Mat Daling as their spiritual home as it was here that the series began, hence would be incomplete without a return to the heart of Taman Negara (National Forest). The event takes place from 6th to 8th July 2018.

As Rimba Raid’s popularity grows over the years, this edition at Mat Daling will be the most ambitious yet, consisting of a 125-km rally spanning 3 days through some of the most beautiful environment Malaysia has to offer. There are currently 200 registered participants from 13 countries.

As such, the organizers provided the opportunity to competitors to collect their rally kit in advance prior to 6th July.

The event was held at Ducati Malaysia’s compound in Naza Auto Mall together with GIVI Asia as both Ducati is one of the sponsors and GIVI Asia is the main sponsor.

Each rally kit included a personalized rally jersey, official event shirt, numbered stickers for the participant’s motorcycle and extras provided by GIVI Asia.

These participants were also able to view and buy some of GIVI’s latest products (at special promotions) such as aluminium cases, waterproof luggage and helmets.

Some 130 participants showed up to collect their kits by the end of the day, allowing for a smoother registration process during the rally weekend.

The event will begin from Xscape Resort Taman Negara on 6th July 2018.
