These days, Royal Enfield’s name appears almost every day on any two-wheel website.

  • Royal Enfield to introduce five new motorcycles featuring an all-new 450cc platform.
  • The Himalayan 450 could be the first to make public debut next year.

That’s because the Chennai-based motorcycle company has been busy introducing a range of new bikes in the last couple of years.

However, Royal Enfield will soon grow its portfolio with five all-new 450cc motorcycles.

According to reports in India, the 450cc range is likely to include an adventure tourer alongside a more off-road capable machine, possibly called the Himalayan 450. Also in the pipeline are a 450 roadster, 450 scramblers and a 450 cafe racer.

Royal Enfield has been caught testing an adventure tourer over the last few months, with reports claiming that it could be the first among the five to make its global debut next year.

Meanwhile, the Himalayan 450 will feature a single-piece flat seat, higher ground clearance and a longer travel suspension to boost the bike’s off-road ability.

Secondly, the roadster is a street-biased motorcycle, thus offering a lower seat height, sportier riding ergonomics and sharper bodywork.

The 450 scramblers and 450 cafe racer are similar to the roadster, offering slightly differing packages, including wired-spoke wheels, lower set clip-on handlebars, shorter fenders and a front beak.

In addition, all five models will boast LED lighting, including modern instrumentation.

Royal Enfield will be taking over its UK distribution beginning 2023.

  • Royal Enfield UK takes over UK distribution from MotoGB.
  • The move is part of Royal Enfield’s initiative to increase the brad presence in the country.

The move is part of Royal Enfield’s plan to boost its presence in the UK after previously used third-party distributors, MotoGB to run its operation in the country including sales and marketing.

However, Royal Enfield UK will handle its UK distribution totally in-house on 1 May 2023, subsequently ending the 9-year relationship with MotoGB.

“The Royal Enfield senior leadership team extends sincere thanks and appreciation to MotoGB for their association with the brand over the last 9 years,” said Royal Enfield in a statement.

Meanwhile, Arun Gopal, Royal Enfield’s Head of International Business is adamant that the business will continue to grow despite ending long partnership with MotoGB.

“The United Kingdom is a key home market for Royal Enfield, having a long legacy of cooperation with India and a rich history.

“From the foundation of the brand in 1901 to the first UK import sale of India produced motorcycles in 1977 and the sales growth in recent years with the assistance of MotoGB, Royal Enfield has seen good sales momentum and acceptance in the UK market.

“We will continue to make investment in the UK localising our operations and giving our stakeholders the best possible brand experience,” he said.

The waiting game has come to an end as Royal Enfield finally rolls out the Super Meteor 650 at the EICMA show in Milan.

  • Royal Enfield adds the Super Meteor 650 to its 650cc family.
  • The Super Meteor features an all-new frame and revised suspension setup.

The Super Meteor 650 is the third motorcycle to feature Royal Enfield’s 650cc parallel-twin engine after the Continental GT and Interceptor.

However, this is not simply an engine swap from the smaller Meteor 350 or a different aesthetic from the existing 650 Twin. Instead, the Super Meteor 650 gets a newly built frame, revised suspension geometry, redesigned fuel tank, new side panels and a new swingarm.

Also, the Super Meteor 650 is the first 650cc model from Royal Enfield to be equipped with full-LED lighting. In addition, the Super Meteor is also the first Royal Enfield to be fitted with upside-down forks.

Nonetheless, the motorcycle continues to offer conventional cruiser-style riding ergonomics similar to the 350.

Meanwhile, instrumentation comes from a digital-analogue display with tripper navigation.

According to Royal Enfield, the Super Meteor 650 will be available in two trims; Standard and Tourer, with the latter is fitted with a range of accessories, including saddlebags, a tall windscreen, an engine guard and a pillion backrest.

We’re just days away from EICMA 2022 which is set to open its doors next week in Milan.

  • The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 to make an appearance in Milan.
  • Powering the Super Meteor 650 is the firm’s 650cc parallel-twin engine.

Among those who are expected to make headlines is Indian motorcycle manufacturer, Royal Enfield.

It’s first official teaser has confirmed that Royal Enfield upcoming Super Meteor 650 cruiser is set to break cover at EICMA 2022 after unveiling the SG650 Concept during the 2021 edition.

The unveiling is scheduled to happen on Tuesday, November 8, which is the first press day at EICMA and can be catch on Royal Enfield’s official YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, the teaser revealed the rear view of the upcoming Super Meteor 650 and while the green curtains brilliantly blocked some part of the motorcycle, we can clearly see the twin pipe setup similar to the 650 Twin (Interceptor and Continental GT).

Also visible is the twin rear shocks with black springs and a single round, red taillight.

However, it is yet to confirm whether the teased model is actually the upcoming Super Meteor or it could just be a misdirection.

Anyway, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Royal Enfield’s 650 Twin, the Interceptor and Continental GT is proven to be one of the most popular retro-style motorcycle available in the market.

  • Royal Enfield to introduced a new scrambler-type motorcycle.
  • Powered by the firm’s trusted parallel-twin motor.

The success is down to the bike’s trusted 649cc parallel-twin engine as well as excellent value for money compared to the rest of its competitors.

Just last month, the India-based company were caught testing a new scrambler-style motorcycle in the UK, powered by its parallel-twin motor.

However, in a latest development, the upcoming motorcycle was caught testing in India for the very first time.

As such, latest spy photos revealed more noteworthy details including a minimalist side panels similar to the Interceptor 650, small windshield above the front headlamp and an upside down fork.

Perhaps the most striking difference is the 2-into-1 exhaust system that is the first for the firm’s 650 range.

Nonetheless, the upcoming scrambler features the same tubular steel frame with bolted trussing similar to the 650 Twin.

Looking at how well dress the test mule is, we assume it will roll into production soon. Maybe a 2023 release is on the card?

As the world is shifting towards a sustainable ecosystem, motorcycle manufacturers are also moving towards the same direction.

  • Royal Enfield begins testing electric motorcycle prototypes in several facilities around the globe.
  • Royal Enfield’s production-ready EV is set to roll out in 2025.

The latest is Royal Enfield, which has started testing its EV prototypes at various locations worldwide.

According to reports, after investing in a dedicated infrastructure specialising in electric vehicles, Royal Enfield has also hired relevant individuals to boost its EV development in India and the UK.

However, while other manufacturers – such as Kawasaki and Triumph – is already in the advanced stages of introducing their production-ready electric motorcycles, Royal Enfield will only launch its EV in 2025.

This is because the India-based company wants to ensure that its EV project can set a similar quality benchmark as its 350cc to 650cc range.

That said, Royal Enfield is working to understand what buyers want in an electric motorcycle which, in turn, allows the firm to develop an EV that meets the customer’s needs similar to its petrol-powered motorcycle.

Royal Enfield will also focus on expanding its ICE-based motorcycles with the soon-to-be-launch Himalayan 450 and Shogun 650.

Royal Enfield recently recorded a staggering 145 per cent worldwide sales increase in September 2022 compared to the same period last year.

  • Royal Enfield sold more than 80,000 motorcycles in September 2022.
  • India remain as the biggest market for Royal Enfield.

That’s certainly a significant boost to the Indian motorcycle company, especially as we are nearing the end of the year.

However, if you ever wonder what could be the major contributor behind those high numbers, look no further ahead than the company’s Hunter 350.

According to the firm’s sales report, Royal Enfield sold 18,197 units of the Hunter 350 in August and 17,118 units the following month in September.

To put it in perspective, the Hunter 350 outsold Honda’s H’ness 350 by a considerable margin, with the latter recording just 3,980 units in September.

Despite the H’ness 350 being launched in India some time ago, the Hunter 350 garnered higher demand in a shorter period.

Several factors are in play, including how the Hunter 350 is priced lower than the H’ness 350. Also, since the H’ness 350 are only available in India and Japan, it is to be expected that the numbers will be lower.

Nonetheless, it also indicates an upward trend for Royal Enfield’s bike in the global market, especially for the Hunter 350.

If you owned a Royal Enfield motorcycle, then you are probably one of the contributor to the brand staggering growth in global sales for September 2022.

  • Royal Enfield sold more than 80,000 motorcycles in September 2022.
  • India remain as the biggest market for Royal Enfield.

The Indian-owned motorcycle company has just recorded a 145 percent increase in sales for the month of September 2022.

That said, Royal Enfield sold 82,097 units of motorcycles purchased over the 30 day period compared to 33,528 units sold in the same period last year.

As expected, 73,646 units from the total sales was generated in India which continue to become the stronghold of the Royal Enfield brand to this day.

Nevertheless, the major surge of sales in comparison to last year is down to the brand latest model, led by the all-new Royal Enfield Scram 411 and the Hunter 350.

Moreover, with the demand of small and middleweight capacity motorcycle on the rise will only continue to boost the sales of Royal Enfield motorcycles.

In fact, the Meteor 350 – introduced in 2020 – is currently contesting the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure for UK”s best selling full-size two-wheelers.

Meanwhile, the brand sales figure is expected to reach greater heights in months to come with a number of other arrivals on the way, including the Himalayan 450, Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650.

Royal Enfield also rumoured to be working on a Himalayan. 650. Coming from a fan of ADV motorcycles, a bigger Himalayan is a big yes from us.

After its global introduction in March 2022, local distributor Didi Group has officially launched the Royal Enfield Scram 411 for the Malaysian market.

  • New Royal Enfield Scram 411 is a stripped-down Himalayan poised for the urban scrambler.
  • Features the same 411cc single SOCH engine as the off-road capable Himalayan 411.

Dubbed as an ‘urban scrambler’, it’s essentially the brand’s Himalayan adventure bike that’s been stripped down and given a proper modern retro styling twist.

Whilst the Scram 411’s base chassis remains unchanged from the Himalayan, it does employ identical 41mm front forks tweaked with slightly less travel – 190mm down from 200mm. The rear monoshock’s 180mm travel figure remains unchanged though.

That, along with the adoption of 21-inch (front) and 19-inch (rear) wheels ought to see the Royal Enfield Scram 411 boast slightly better on-road manners compared to the Himalayan ADV it underpins.

Also unchanged is the Himalayan’s powertrain package employed by the Royal Enfield Scram 411. You get the same air-cooled 411cc single with 24.3bhp @ 6,500rpm and 32NM @ 4,000RPM in this urban retro redux of said ADV machine.

Other major changes from the Himalayan obviously lay in the overall styling. The Scram 411 trade’s away the Himalayan’s fairing and high mudguard for a stripped down look with a small bit of bodywork to covering the instrument dial’s back.

There’s also a new single-piece seat that Royal Enfield says will offer enhanced comfort for long riding stints allowed by the sizeable 12.5-litre tank present, not forgetting the brand’s Tripper navigation unit brimmed as standard a feature too.

Royal Enfield revealed new colours for the 2023 Royal Enfield Meteor 350.

  • Royal Enfield brings new colours for the 2023 Meteor 350 range.
  • The Fireball variant features two new colours.

The new colour scheme is introduced for the Fireball and Supernova variants.

Despite the new colourway, technical aspects remain unchanged, with Royal Enfield only using the new colours to refresh the Meteor 350 for 2023.

According to the Indian firm, the Fireball gets two new colours; Fireball Blue and Fireball Matt Green.

Meanwhile, the top-of-the-range Supernova edition now features “Supernova Red”. However, the third variant, Stellar, continues to feature the same visuals.

For those unaware, the Fireball is the base model; the Stellar features a backrest, while the Supernova is fitted with a front windscreen and a backrest.

Powering the Meteor 350 is a 349cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air/oil-cooled engine capable of pumping 20hp @ 6,100rpm and 27Nm @ 4,000rpm.

Despite the retro look, the Meteor 350 is fitted with modern features, including dual-channel ABS, LED taillights and Bluetooth connectivity.

It looks like Royal Enfield is set to introduced alloy wheels to its Continental 650 GT motorcycle after the test mule was spotted recently in India.

  • The new alloy rims appears to be same 18-inch size as the current motorcycle.
  • Announcement to be made soon.

The alloy rims feature on the test mule sport a 7-spoke design and is likely to be same size as the 18” spoke wheels on the current Continental.

Also, this could mean that the Continental GT 650 will get tubeless tyres, as opposed to the current model.

That said, we expect that the 650 twin, the Interceptor 650 will also get the same update, which is likely to happen in the coming months.

Interestingly, the spy shot (which you can check out HERE) also revealed that the Continental GT 650 is fitted with a new round taillamp, replacing the rectangular unit found in the current model.

Looking at how RE not bother to cover the test mule with the usual camo paintjob, it is safe to assume the motorcycle compay will announced the minor upgrade soon.
