AGV has updated its popular modular helmet, the Tourmodular, for 2022.

  • AGV Tourmodular now meets the latest ECE22.06 standard.

  • integrated with DMC System developed by Cardo.

According to the company, the new and improved Tourmodular helmet now meets ECE 22.06 homologation as a result of AGV’s extreme safety manufacturing protocol developed over 75 years.

The Tourmodular features a unique combination of carbon, aramid fibre and fibreglass structure that provides solidity and lightness, allowing riders to feel comfy and less fatigue while on the road.

Meanwhile, the visor is designed for a better field of vision and to protect the face and eye. The visor is optical class 1 and is 4m thick.

Inside, the helmet features Ritmo and Shalimar fabrics that absorb moisture and sweat, while the (water-repellent) synthetic leather keeps the water out of the helmet during heavy rain.

Thanks to its aerodynamic design, the Tourmodular helmet minimises turbulence and helmet movement and offers a dynamic weight of zero at 130km/h.

Other notable features:

  • AGV Micro-opening system
  • four adjustable air-vents
  • exceed P/J homologation – safe and secured with the chin guard up

In addition, the AGV Tourmodular helmet is the first helmet built to be compatible with the Dynamic Mesh Communication system. Developed with Cardo, the AGV INSIDE intercom allows interaction with up to 15 riders while guaranteeing connection stability with a total distance of 6km.

The new AGV Tourmodular helmet is currently on sale in the US, starting from USD599.95 (RM2.6k).

New Givi LE X.20 Expedition Evo is a feature-rich modular helmet that promises not to break the bank.

Some time ago, Scorpion was almost unknown to the motorcycle industry. Still, the company rose to the spotlight after it became the helmet of choice for 2021 MotoGP world champion Fabio Quartararo.

While Quartararo will continue to wear the company’s helmet for the 2022 season, Scorpion has revamped its range of helmets for the new year, especially its ever-popular ADX-1 modular adventure helmet.

After five years in the market, Scorpion decided to update its popular modular ADV helmet with the ADX-2.

According to Scorpion, the ADX-2 offers better comfort and increased safety as the helmet now meets ECE 22.06 standard after undergoing a more stringent test process.

The ECE 22.06 compliant also means that the ADX-2 received double P/J homologation, making it safe to wear the helmet with the chin-bar up.

Nonetheless, the ADX-2 maintains the same versatility as its predecessor, whereby the helmet can be worn in various ways to suit the rider riding style. The peak is detachable to suit the riders need and can also act as an open face helmet with the chin-bar up.

The Scorpion ADX-2 also offers a detachable and washable interior, retractable sun visor and multi-channel ventilation system. The visor is also Pinlock ready and compatible to wear with an intercom.

According to Scorpion, the ADX-2 is available for EUR249.99 (RM1,2k).

As it is, the modern safety helmet has come a long way indeed. However, a firm called Vozz Helmets is out to change that with its range of helmets that feature a rather unorthodox yet ingenious design.

Vozz’s unconventional design features a rear access application without straps. The shell opens rearwards and makes wearing it much easier compared then the regular top-down insertion method. As a result, the design negates the need for chinstraps whilst boasting several benefits such as enhanced aerodynamics and increased protection.

Despite the narrow lower rim design, the Vozz’s rearward entry appears much easier to don. We also cannot help but notice that this rearward and strapless entry will favour riders who wear spectacles as well. Check out the video attached above for a better grasp of how this works.

Furthermore, the design also has several extras to protect its users beyond the point of operation. One of which is the rear shell doubling up as a head cup for attending paramedics during emergency extraction. The six-step disassembly can be accessed quickly via scanning a QR code placed in the helmet’s bottom rim by attending paramedics or emergency services personnel.

Vozz currently holds the master patent for the helmet design and is open towards licensing its technology to other parties. More information about the Vozz Helmet can be viewed via its official website, vozzhelmets.com.
