Thailand has confirmed that they will start hosting the MotoGP race for three years beginning in 2018.

The deal was finalised between the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and Dorna last weekend during a meeting in Italy.

The MotoGP Thai Round will run its course from 5 to 7 October 2018.

According to a report made by the Bangkok Post, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and Dorna has come to an agreement which will see Thailand hosting the MotoGP race for three years beginning in 2018. Both parties finally struck the deal the past weekend back in Italy. (more…)

  • West originally finished third in Race One and first in Race Two at the Buriram International Circuit

  • “Team Akeno Speed Racing had refused to strip the motorcycle at parc ferme for post-race scrutineering.”

Following the recent round of Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in Thailand just last weekend, we saw that our home-grown hero Azlan Shah from the Manual Tech KYT Kawasaki Racing Team emerged victorious in both races of Round 2.

The race ran its course around the Buriram International Circuit which was filled with more than the usual drama and excitement. One of which would be Anthony West’s disqualification from both races in which he had obtained podium positions.

The recent ARRC (Asia Road Racing Championship) round held at the Buriram International Circuit saw plenty of action from all of the categories that took part from 13 – 15 April 2017. The second round saw Malaysian rider Azlan Shah as the double winner for both Super Sports 600cc races at the 4.554km track. (more…)

It was a rookie who stole the limelight in Race 2 of the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 2017. MUSASHi Boon Siew Honda rider and 2016 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship Champion Zaqhwan Zaidi started his 2017 title defence perfectly with a win in Round 1 of the SuperSports 600cc Asian category. Starting from pole position, the 22 year old rider from Selangor, Malaysia earned a satisfying but challenging victory with close battles from the runner up, Taiga Hada from the RAMA Honda by NTS T.Pro Ten 10 outfit from Japan. Pelumba Yamaha Thailand Racing Team, Decha Kraisart menamatkan sesi ujian pra-musim Kejuaraan Motosikal Asia FIM (ARRC) dengan muncul sebagai pelumba terpantas dalam saingan SuperSports 600cc yang berakhir di Litar Johor, Pasir Gudang, hari ini.

Juara dua kali ARRC itu mencatat masa terbaik 1’31.051s, menghampiri catatan terpantas litar 1’31.016s milik Md Zaqhwan Zaidi (Musashi Boon Siew Honda Racing) yang dilakukan pada musim 2016.

Juara bertahan, Zaqhwan yang menguasai hari pertama semalam kekal memberikan aksi bertenaga apabila muncul pelumba kedua terpantas dengan masa 1’31.381s diikuti seorang lagi pelumba negara, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (Manual Tech Kawasaki Racing), dengan masa 1’31.441s.   (more…)
