Aprilia Tuono 660

Didi Group selaku pengedar rasmi jenama Aprilia di Malaysia dengan rasminya memperkenalkan Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory untuk pasaran tempatan. 

Berbanding (model standard) Tuono 660 yang menawarkan 95hp daripada enjin 659cc parallel-twin, versi Factory pula menawarkan kuasa yang lebih tinggi, 100hp dan 67Nm.

Selain daripada kuasa yang lebih tinggi, Tuono 660 Factory ini juga hanya datang dengan pilihan warna Factory Black di samping memaparkan nama ‘factory’ di bahagian sisi fairing depan.

Bagaimanapun, ciri lain yang terdapat pada model standard masih dikekalkan pada model ini antaranya gear lebih pendek serta pakej APRC sama seperti RS660 yang merangkumi:

  • traction control
  • wheelie control
  • cornering ABS
  • mod menunggang
  • quickshifter
  • auto-blipper


Selain itu, varian Factory ini juga lebih ringan dibantu dengan penggunaan bateri lithium yang berjaya mengurangkan berat sekitar 2kg.

Antara ciri lain ditawarkan termasuk cakera brek berkembar (depan) 320mm, cakera berk tunggal (belakang) 222mm, kaliper brek Brembo dan lampu LED penuh. 

Menariknya, Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory ini juga datang dengan harga lebih murah berbanding versi standard yang diperkenalkan tahun lalu (2021).

Menurut Didi Group, Tuono 660 Factory ini dijual pada harga RM73,900.

New for the Malaysian market is the 2022 Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory, priced at RM73,900 as announced by local distributor, Didi Group. 

  • Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory brings higher power and better specs. 
  • The Tuono 660 Factory features the all-new 659 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine with a 270-degree crank. 

In terms of power, the Tuono 660 Factory is rated at 100hp, a 5hp increase from the base Tuono 660 but the peak torque remains unchanged at 67Nm.

That said, the Tuono 660 Factory also gets a shorter gear ratio for its gearbox plus all the electronic riding aids and APRC suite just like the RS 660 (traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, selectable riding modes, quickshifter, auto-blipper, etc.).

Despite the higher power than the base model that was introduced back in 2021, the Tuono 660 Factory is RM4,000 cheaper, making it very desirable among brand loyalists in Malaysia. 

Also, thanks to weight-saving improvements, including using a lithium-ion battery, the Tuono 660 Factory is 2kg lighter. 

The suspension is upgraded with a fully-adjustable 41mm Kayaba front fork and Sachs rear shocks. 

Other notable features include:

  • dual 320mm disc (front)
  • single 220mm disc (rear)
  • Brembo calliper
  • Aprilia LED (with bending light function)

The 2022 Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory is only available in the Factory Dark colourway.

Baru-baru ini, Aprilia telah melaksanakan panggilan semula beberapa model RS660 dan Tuono 660 di Amerika Syarikat.

Panggilan semula itu dibuat susulan terdapat kes telah dikemukakan kepada pihak berkuasa keselamatan trafik AS, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), di mana ‘connecting rod/conrod’ pada model RS660 telah patah meskipun baru merekodkan 2,300 kilometer.

Bagaimanapun, dalam perkembangan terkini, Aprilia bakal mengumumkan panggilan semula kedua-dua model membabitkan 700 unit seluruh dunia.

Difahamkan, panggilan semula secara global itu terpaksa dilakukan setelah mendapati ‘conrod’ yang dihasilkan bagi enjin 660cc parallel-twin itu tidak mencapai spesifikasi yang ditetapkan.

Sebagai langkah keselamatan, kesemua model yang dipanggil semula akan digantikan dengan enjin serba baharu di samping memperbaharui waranti kilang. – motorradonline

Aprilia set to issue a worldwide recall for the RS660 and Tuono 660 after identifying a batch of poorly installed connecting rods.

The connecting rods were not manufactured according to the Noale factory specifications, which could result in an engine failure.

A case was submitted to the United States traffic safety authority National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) whereby a connecting rod on an Aprilia RS660 got torn off after clocking 2,300 kilometres.

As a precaution, the Italian motorcycle company has decided to replace the entire engine, including renewing the factory warranty.

It is estimated that around 700 units (including RS660 and Tuono 660) worldwide are affected by the recall.

Tahun 2021 sememangnya waktu yang sibuk buat Aprilia apabila giat mempromosikan beberapa model baharu antaranya RS660 dan Tuono 660.

Pengeluar motosikal Itali itu juga dilaporkan sedang giat menguji model baharu, Tuareg 660 yang telah pun didedahkan sekitar September tahun lalu.

Dalam perkembangant terbaru, Pengurus Pemasaran Aprilia, Cristian Romeo Barelli mendedahkan maklumat lebih terperinci mengenai motosikal ADV itu.

Menurut Barelli, Tuareg 660 akan mengikut DNA generasi sebelumnya sebagai jentera berkeupayaan off-road dengan tayar berukuran 21″ depan dan 18″ belakang.

Tambah Barelli lagi, disebabkan pembangunan enjin 660cc memfokuskan prestasi yang lebih ‘sporty’, Tuareg 660 juga akan mengekalkan elemen sama seperti ditawarkan RS660 dan Tuono 660.

Aprilia Tuareg 660 ini dijangka akan memberi saingan terhadap Yamaha Tenere 700 dan beberapa model lain dalam segmennya.

“Tuareg 660 akan ditawarkan sebagai model 2022, dan akan didapati seawal hujung 2021,” dedah Barelli.

The Aprilia Tuono 660 finally lands in Malaysia, months after its official global introduction earlier this year.

This half-naked version of the RS 660 was initially planned to go into production last year, but COVID-19 really threw a wrench in Aprilia’s plans thus delaying the official released including Malaysia.

Better late than never, we guess.

The 2021 Aprilia Tuono 660 essentially carries all the same specs as its full-fairing siblings, minus a few things here and there. The most noticeable is of course the full front fairing, but the Tuono 660 still has that side aero-winglets but with a more compact design.

 

In terms of firepower, the Tuono 660 is said to produce around 95hp, which is 5hp less than the RS 660.

To make up for that, Aprilia offered a shorter gear ratio for its gearbox plus all the electronic riding aids and APRC suite just like the RS 660 (traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, selectable riding modes, quickshifter, auto-blipper, etc.).

The rest is pretty much the same as the RS 660, which should’ve made more sense if they were launched together, but that’s Aprilia for you.

The Tuono 660 are only available in Concept Black for the Malaysia market with a price of RM77,900.

 

Aprilia has hit colossal success ever since the introduction of the RS660 end of last year and the recent launched of the Tuono 660.

Sharing the same 660cc platform, Aprilia seems to be proud with the new unit (now Euro 5) which is also scheduled to power the upcoming middleweight adventure bike, the Tuareg 660.

The RS660 borrows styling cues from the established RSV4 1100 while the Tuono 660 (you guessed it right) drawn from its bigger sibling, Tuono 1100.

However, to progress, the Italian marque looks set to axe two models from its Noale factory, the Aprilia Shiver and Dorsoduro due to Euro 5 emission.

Both Shiver and Dorsoduro are the only models with Euro-4 engine, and that means if Aprilia plans to continue putting this in every dealer in Europe, it has to be Euro-5 compliant.

It is impractical for Aprilia to update the 900cc V-Twin engine to comply with Euro-5 and the fact that they are preoccupied with the 660cc unit, shifting their focus anytime soon do not add up.

Which brings us to the question, will Shiver and Dorsoduro be born again with the same 660cc Euro-5 platform?

The RS660 is a middleweight sportbike however unlike the dedicated supersport segment, the RS (an acronym for RennSport) is not designed for competition; instead, it is made for the street.

Meanwhile, the Tuono 660 provides a much comfortable riding ergonomics with taller handlebars and fall within the ‘naked’ sports motorcycle.

With the two 660 portrayed as a street machine, there is very little room for Shiver and Dorsoduro to make their mark again.

Personally, Shiver and Dorsoduro had an incredible run, and if Aprilia decides to bring back either one of these, it might not be anytime soon.

At the moment, let us enjoy the new revolution of the Noale factory via the RS, Tuono and the upcoming Tuareg 660.

Sejak Aprilia mendedahkan Tuono 660 sebagai jentera konsep di EICMA, rata-rata sudah tidak sabar untuk menyaksikan jentera itu dibawa ke peringkat pengeluaran.

Sambutan positif terhadap RS660 menjadikan Aprilia antara jenama yang paling mencuri tumpuan bagi segmen motosikal pertengahan yang kini menantikan kemunculan Tuono 660.

Menurut laporan media antarabangsa, Aprilia mendedahkan pembangunan Tuono 660 telah pun memasuki peringkat akhir dan imej ‘spyshot’ di Itali ini mengesahkan perkara itu.

Bagaimanapun, model 660 dari kilang Noale itu tidak akan terhenti dengan RS660 dan Tuono tatkala Aprilia turut bakal memperkenalkan jentera adventure, Tuareg 660.

Bukan itu sahaja, Aprilia turut dicanang bakal memperkenalkan jentera 400cc bagi setiap model di atas.

Senario ini sekaligus meletakkan Aprilia antara jenama Itali yang paling mencuri tumpuan bermula tahun depan.

Perkara itu didedahkan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif (CEO), Piaggio India, Diego Graffi yang memaklumkan bahawa Aprilia Tuono 660 akan dilancarkan di India pada pertenghan 2021.

Pendedahan itu sekaligus memberi bayangan Tuono 660 akan dilancarkan secara global pada tarikh yang lebih awal sepertimana yang berlaku terhadap RS660.

Meskipun Aprilia RS660 telah pun mula dijual ketika ini namun pasaran Malaysia hanya akan menyaksikan jentera tersebut sekitar suku pertama tahun depan.

Aprilia Tuono 660 pada awalnya didedahkan di EICMA tahun lalu sebagai jentera konsep meskipun reka bentuk yang ditayangkan itu jelas menggambarkan sebuah jentera yang lengkap.

Meskipun tiada info didedahkan mengenai jentera tersebut namun apa yang pasti Tuono 660 mendapat suntikan enjin sama seperti yang ditawarkan pada RS660, yang menjana 100hp pada 10,500rpm dan 67Nm pada 8,500rpm.

Bagaimanapun, dijangka kuasa itu akan ditala semula bagi menyesuaikan pada Tuono 660.
