Travis Pastrana moves to KTM from Suzuki

If you’re into anything remotely related to motorcycles, then you would know one of its biggest royalties; Travis Pastrana. The X-Games legend/stunt rider/freestyle motocross champion/Nitro Circus founder recently posted up quite a bomb on his social media regarding his new fleet of KTM two-stroke machines.

Travis Pastrana is known throughout his career as a Suzuki man. In fact, his history with Suzuki goes back to about 18 years and his favourite machine to ride? His trusty Suzuki RM 250. No doubt, the old bike has served him well but with parts having discontinued 15 years ago and Pastrana still going strong, he needs new bikes. Pronto.

It was at this moment that his team thought about two possible outcomes; moving to four-stroke machines or switching to another manufacturer. Pastrana’s love for two-strokes is still firing strong and with most of his stunts requiring something light yet powerful, four-stroke bikes are just not up for it. Hence, the move towards KTM – the only manufacturer right now with modern two-strokes.

Below is his announcement posted up on his several social media platforms.

Huge thanks to the man himself, Roger Decoster along with Ian Harrison and Ryan Morais for helping me with some new 250cc 2 Strokes! I’ve practically bled yellow for the past 28 years and I’m thankful for every day with Suzuki.. But with RM 250’s being discontinued close to 15 years ago, it’s been getting harder and harder to find bikes and parts. It was time for me to either go 4-Stroke or switch colors. Thanks to Trevor Piranha for making the call… Some video of my first day on KTM. Shout out to my friend Tim Montana for clearing his song #americanthread for me to use in the piece!

Looks like the X-Games legend has fallen hard for the KTMs and we’re pretty sure that he has something huge planned to commemorate to newfound relationship with Team Orange. What else can the man do after being the first to pull off a double backflip, back-to-back double backflip, and the triple backflip on a dirt bike? WE.CAN’T.WAIT.

Travis Pastrana is going to jump over 52 cars, 16 buses AND a fountain!

A passionate individual when it comes to anything related to two wheels (or sometimes more), he enjoys the chaotic and magical world of motorsports as much as riding leisurely to the shops on his beloved Vespa. With an education-based background, he is always eager to learn and share about the poetic arts of motorcycling.
