2020 Bajaj Dominar 250 to be launched soon

The presence of Bajaj here in Malaysia has been an outstanding one ever since its first collaboration work with national motorcycle manufacturer, Modenas. With several successful models currently available like the Modenas Dominar D400, the Indian market will soon see one particularly new model that we too are excited about – the 2020 Bajaj Dominar 250.

Known as the 2020 Bajaj Dominar 250 BS6, dealerships across India have already begun accepting bookings for the new Bajaj model which also means that its official public launch will be very close. Heck, videos of the 250cc sport-touring model have also been published online ahead of its debut.

The 250cc sport-touring model carries some of the goodies available on the Dominar D400 like LED headlights, LED tail lamp, and twin digital LCD instruments. For now, the Indian market will be able to choose between two colour options; red and matt black.

Green is now reserved only for the Dominar 400

The engine is derived from the KTM 250 Duke but retuned for more durability and better fuel efficiency. We’re guessing that the power output might be lower than the what the KTM 250 Duke is punching out at around 30hp and 24Nm of maximum torque. It is also expected that the six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch from the KTM model will be brought over to the Bajaj Dominar 250.

Everything else is expected to be more or less like its bigger 400cc brother. The question is, what will the pricing be if Modenas decides to bring in this bad boy into the Malaysian market? The current 200cc range lies just below the RM10,000 mark while the Dominar D400 is now priced more competitively at RM13,800. Only time will tell.
