Hafizh Syahrin continues to improve pace in Qatar Test

The Moto2 and Moto3 teams and riders are currently in Qatar for the final pre-season testing sessions at the Losail International Circuit. Looking at our very own two-wheels motorsports hero, Hafizh Syahrin, the young Malaysian lad continues to improve his pace on board the 765cc Triumph-powered Moto2 machine provided by the Angel Nieto squad (Aspar Team).

After confirming yet another sponsorship deal with UMW Grantt just yesterday, the 25-year-old former MotoGP rider came in strong for the first day of testing as the seventh fastest rider of Session 1. Session 2 saw him maintaining his fast pace but with other riders being able to throw down some incredible times, he finished Session 2 in P12.

It’s still a very positive outcome considering that Hafizh Syahrin is less than a second apart from the fastest riders of the two sessions, Thomas Luthi (Liqui Moly Intact GP) and Jorge Navarro (Speed Up Racing). Being one out of only four riders riding with the Speed Up chassis, it’s a step in the right direction for Hafizh against the whole field of Kalex machinery.

The Moto2 and Moto3 riders still have two days of testing ahead as they head closer and closer to the opening round of MotoGP 2020 at the same track from 6 to 8 March 2020. Go, Hafizh, go!
