MotoGP: Andrea Iannone confirms move to Aprilia!

Andrea Iannone has confirmed his place in the 2019 MotoGP season after signing a two-year deal with Aprilia.
The 28-year-old Italian will partner up with Aprilia’s current rider, Aleix Espargaro.
This also means that Scott Redding will be out of the Italian factory squad at the end of the 2018 season.

The current Team Suzuki Ecstar rider Andrea Iannone has announced that he will be riding for the Aprilia factory squad for 2019 and 2020. This comes to as no surprise thanks to a number of rumours floating around for a while and further discussed after announcing his exit from Suzuki at the end of the season. (more…)

Should Malaysia change the minimum age for motorcycle license?

The current laws regarding the minimum age for motorcycle license are currently being revised.
In order to curb street hooligans and street racing, there have been voices saying that the minimum age should be lowered.
Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) has set up an online survey in order to collect information from the public.

Discussions and proposals are currently being submitted to the Ministry of Transport with the idea of increasing the overall safety of road users here in Malaysia. One of the said ideas is changing the minimum age requirement to obtain a motorcycle license. (more…)

HLYM launches 20th Yamaha Balik Kampung Road Safety Campaign

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) launched their 20^th Yamaha Balik Kampung Road Safety Campaign.
The event was held earlier today at the Sg Besi Toll Plaza (Southbound).
In conjunction with the launch, all Yamaha branches will be providing complimentary 15-point safety checks from today until 11 June 2018.

In the name of road safety and corporate social responsibility, the good folks from Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) organised their 20^th Yamaha Balik Kampung Road Safety Campaign. The event was held at the Sungai Besi Toll Plaza (Southbound). The event was officiated by Yang Berhormat Loke Siew Fook, Transport Minister of Malaysia. (more…)

Images of the 2019 MV Agusta Moto2 race bike have been released by the brand.
The rendered images give us a taste of what the MV Agusta Forward Racing bike will look like.
The team will have a slight advantage as they are very experienced with triple cylinder engines and supersport machines.

It was only last month that MV Agusta that they will be returning to the world of MotoGP in 2019 after a 42-year absence. A four-year deal has been signed with the Forward Racing team which will see them compete in a brand new reworked intermediate class that will run Triumph’s 765cc inline-three engine. (more…)

MotoGP: Danilo Petrucci gets Ducati factory seat for 2019

Danilo Petrucci has been named Jorge Lorenzo’s replacement in the MotoGP Ducati squad for 2019.
He has signed a one-year contract extension which will see him riding the latest Ducati Desmosedici GP19 with full factory support.
Moto2’s Francesco Bagnaia will be replacing him in the Alma Pramac Racing team with the very likely Jack Miller.

It was only yesterday that current Ducati rider Jorge Lorenzo made one of the biggest moves in the history of MotoGP. After conquering Mugello and becoming the first ever rider to win a race on a premier class using Yamaha and Ducati machinery, Lorenzo has announced that he’ll be joining HRC’s Repsol Honda squad in 2019 and 2020. MotoGP: Hafizh Syahrin will ride a factory KTM RC16 in 2019!

Hafizh Syahrin will be riding a factory KTM RC16 in MotoGP next season as he signed a one-year contract extension with Tech 3.
Together with Miguel Oliveira, there will be four factory-spec KTM machines with Johann Zarco and Pol Espargaro.
This also marks Hafizh as the first ever Malaysian rider to race on a factory bike in the premier class.

The current Monster Yamaha Tech 3 squad has confirmed that their current MotoGP rider Hafizh Syahrin will be staying with them for the 2019 season. The Malaysian rider has signed a one-year contract extension where he will be piloting a factory-spec KTM RC16 next year. (more…)

Isle of Man TT: Two riders died in Superbike and Supersport

After the end of qualifying sessions and two days of racing at this year’s Isle of Man TT, two riders have tragically lost their lives.
30-year-old Dan Kneen died on 30 May 2018 and 26-year-old Adam Lyon died during the opening Monster Energy Supersport race.
More races will continue on 6 and 8 June 2018.

The race week at the 2018 Isle of Man TT is well on its way with a few races have concluded. While Michael Dunlop and Peter Hickman celebrated their wins in Superbike and Superstock respectively, two riders have lost their lives racing at the Mountain Course this year. (more…)

HOG PJ Buka Puasa Ride to Seafarer Restaurant, Melaka

The first ever HOG PJ Buka Puasa Ride was held last Saturday at the Seafarer Restaurant, Melaka.
Around 40 members of the Harley Owners Group Petaling Jaya chapter joined in the ride.
The Iftar session was also joined by Klebang’s state of legislative member, Gue Teck.

Last Saturday was the first ever Iftar ride for the Harley Owners Group (HOG) Petaling Jaya chapter where they organised a day trip to Melaka. Around 40 members of HOG PJ joined the festivities supported by Harley-Davidson of Petaling Jaya (HDPJ) conveniently located at the Gasket Alley. (more…)

MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo wins first ever race with Ducati!

After 18 months of struggle, Jorge Lorenzo finally took home his first ever MotoGP win with Ducati.
Finally able to feel comfortable on the Ducati Desmosedici GP18, the man put the hammer down and gave his signature win.
Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) and Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) completed the podium.

It was a race of epic proportions yesterday in Mugello, Italy. As hundreds of thousands gathered for the Gran Premio D’Italia Oakley on Sunday, the lights went off with their hometown hero, Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) leading the pack from pole position. (more…)

MotoGP: Andrea Iannone confirms split with Suzuki

Andrea Iannone will be leaving Team Suzuki Ecstar at the end of the MotoGP 2018 season.
The Italian rider also stated that his future in the premier class will be determined in the following week.
The Suzuki factory squad is currently trying to rope in 2017 Moto3 world champion and current Moto2 rider, Joan Mir.

MotoGP rider Andrea Iannone has confirmed that he’ll be leaving the Suzuki factory team (Team Suzuki Ecstar) at the end of the season. Despite giving the Hamamatsu factory their first ever back-to-back podium finishes since their return to the premier class, it seems that both parties have made up their minds. (more…)

Motonation 2018 organised a Ramadan Iftar dinner and business networking event last night.

The event was held at the Hype Motorsports Hotel KL (formerly known as Nouvelle Hotel).

They also conducted partners’ signing ceremonies, networkings, and business presentations for all the guests.

The good folks from Motonation 2018 invited fellow partners, networking members and media personnel to their Ramadan Iftar dinner and business networking last night. The event was held at the newly-refurbished Hype Motorsports Hotel KL (formerly known as Nouvelle Hotel). (more…)

The 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan is now available for booking at RM36,880 (basic price without GST).

Powered by their latest LS 410 engine, the 411cc adventure bike produces 24.5hp and 32Nm of torque.

RE Motorcycles Sdn Bhd will be offering the new Himalayan in two different colours; Granite and Snow.

It was late last year when Royal Enfield launched the 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan, an entry-level adventure bike with a bit more grunt, power, and style. It was promised to reach markets around the world around June and Royal Enfield Malaysia (RE Motorcycles Sdn Bhd) delivered the promise when the bike was brought over last week. (more…)
