  • the all-exclusive Tamburini F43 Centenario is the first motorcycle from the Tamburini brand.
  • the F43 Centenario will be auction off for a good cause.

This exclusive bike, based on the MV Agusta F4, marks the debut of the Massimo Tamburini brand. While Massimo Tamburini himself passed away in 2014, his son, Andrea, carries on his father’s legacy by designing motorcycles and related accessories.

The F43 Centenario is an extremely limited-edition masterpiece, with only one unit ever being crafted to pay tribute to the Italian Air Force. Although specific details are scarce at the moment, the build incorporates an abundance of carbon fiber, showcasing the brand’s commitment to performance and innovation.

The Moto Club Massimo Tamburini intends to auction this singular F43 Centenario to support the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC), an immensely worthy cause. Those interested in learning more about AIRC or providing support can find additional information and donation options on their website.

This unveiling comes just six months after the announcement of the Tamburini Corse F43 Tributo in December 2022. The Tributo featured five different variants, with Tamburini Corse producing only five units of each variant for public release.

Distinguishing the F43 Centenario from its predecessors is the accompanying helmet, which perfectly matches the bike’s design. Designed by Andrea Tamburini himself, the Arai RX-7V Evo helmet underwent meticulous hand-airbrushing to ensure a seamless aesthetic integration with the F43 Centenario.

As of now, Tamburini Corse’s website has yet to be updated with information regarding the F43 Centenario. However, their active social media channels contain numerous photos from the official unveiling held in mid-June 2023.

For further inquiries about the bike and details regarding the upcoming auction, interested individuals can contact Tamburini Corse at info@tamburinicorse.com.

Additionally, the limited-edition Arai RX-7V Evo helmet, available separately, can be purchased through Tamburini Corse using the provided email address for any inquiries or purchases.

Ducati is set to make waves in the motorcycle industry with the unveiling of their latest offering, the 2024 Multistrada V2 S.

  • 2024 Ducati Multistrada V2 S will arrive with a new colour scheme.
  • the Multistrada V2 S is equipped with the firm’s  937cc Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine, delivering a peak of 113hp.

While the spotlight has been on the V4 models, Ducati is focusing on refining their V2 lineup for the upcoming year.

The Multistrada V2 S will receive a bold new look with the introduction of a Thrilling Black and Street Grey color scheme. This new livery enhances the sporty spirit of the middleweight motorcycle, with eye-catching red wheel rims and sleek model name graphics on the front side panels. The additional aesthetic touches come at a small premium of $400 over the base price.

Mechanically, the powertrain remains unchanged, and that’s a good thing considering the major refresh it received in 2022. Powering the bike is the impressive 937cc Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine, delivering a peak of 113 horsepower @ 9,000 rpm and maximum torque of 98Nm @ 6,750 rpm.

The chassis also remains the same, featuring a front trellis frame and two lateral cast subframes that provide a rigid structure. The V2 S version comes equipped with Ducati’s renowned semi-active Skyhook Suspension EVO, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride. The Multistrada V2 S boasts a Brembo brake system with Cornering ABS and 19/17 wheels.

Ducati’s commitment to advanced electronics is evident in the Multistrada V2 S. The motorcycle features a comprehensive electronics suite that includes ABS Cornering, Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), and Ducati Traction Control as standard equipment. Riders will also enjoy the convenience of cruise control, a quickshifter, and a 5-inch color TFT dashboard. The V2 S offers four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro) and LED lighting, which is a rarity for an entry-level Multistrada.

BMW is making strides in motorcycle technology with the development of illuminated winglets, according to their latest patent.

  • This innovation could potentially be incorporated into future BMW Motorrad models, including the M 1000 RR and M 1000 R.
  • The illuminated aero is aimed at reducing weight whilst enhancing visibility.

Currently, BMW’s S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR motorcycles feature turn signals integrated into their mirrors, eliminating the need for additional protrusions on the sides of the bike.

However, this solution adds weight and cost. By utilizing the winglets as turn signals, BMW aims to reduce weight and improve cost-efficiency. The LED strips in the winglets have a lower and more forward mass distribution, providing a slight advantage in terms of weight distribution.

The illuminated winglets serve a dual purpose, combining daytime running lights (DRLs) and turn signals. When the turn signals are not in use, the DRLs remain illuminated, turning off on one side only when the turn signal is activated.

This arrangement enhances visibility, especially in low-light conditions, making the motorcycle more noticeable to oncoming traffic. The wider separation of the DRLs defines the bike’s widest part, allowing for easier estimation of its speed.

In addition to the lighting elements, BMW’s patent also includes a projector light mounted on the lower surface of the winglets. This light is designed to project a puddle of light onto the ground, similar to the puddle lights found in cars. This feature enhances visibility when stopped, providing a better view of the surface on which the motorcycle’s sidestand is placed.

The patent even suggests the possibility of incorporating a transparent liquid-crystal display into the projector light, allowing for customizable patterns to be projected onto the ground.

While the primary purpose of the winglets is aerodynamic, BMW’s lighting innovation could prove to be more advantageous for riders in terms of safety. With the combination of enhanced visibility and the projection of light onto the ground, these illuminated winglets could offer significant benefits to motorcyclists in the future.
