Michael Van Der Mark

Current WorldSBK factory Yamaha rider Michael van der Mark has been selected to replace the injured Valentino Rossi in the next MotoGP round in Aragon on 24 September 2017.

The 24 year old Dutch will be making his MotoGP debut on the Yamaha YZF-M1 for the very first time with the support of Rossi’s current team.

Rossi is expected to make his return at the beginning of the three flyaway races starting in Motegi, Japan.

WorldSBK Yamaha rider Michael van der Mark has been selected to replace the injured Movistar Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi at Aragon in the next MotoGP round. As Rossi continues his rehabilitation procedure following an enduro-related injury, the 24 year old from Netherlands who is the current factory Yamaha rider riding for the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team will be making his MotoGP debut.   • Pusingan keenam dalam siri perlumbaan WorldSBK musim ini berlangsung di Donington Park hujung minggu lalu menyaksikan Tom Sykes dan Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) mendominasi kedua-dua perlumbaan, menyumbang kepada kemenangan yang ke-100 dalam kejohanan ini bagi pasukan itu.
  • Tom Sykes memenangi Perlumbaan 1 diikuti oleh Leon Haslam (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) di tempat kedua dan Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Racing) di tempat ketiga.
  • Jonathan Rea bertarung dengan hebat sekali di Perlumbaan 2 dan memenanginya diikuti oleh Tom Sykes dan Chaz Davies.

The sixth round of the WorldSBK race held in Donington Park last weekend saw Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) dominated both races contributing to the team’s 100th win in the championship.

Tom Sykes won Race 1 with Leon Haslam (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) in second followed by Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Racing) in third.

Jonathan Rea made an amazing comeback in Race 2 with the win followed by Tom Sykes and Chaz Davies.

It was a clear and landslide victory for both the Kawasaki Racing Team riders this past race weekend during the UK Round of the WorldSBK race held at the legendary Donington Park. After an interesting outcome from Race 1 which saw two of the top podium contenders crashing out, it was Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) aka “The King of Donington” who took the whole shot for Race 1. With a win in Race 1, Rea looked to have a challenge laid out for him with the new race format. The new ruling meant that Rea had to start the second race from the back of the third row in P9 but that did not stop him from being victorious. The top spot was fought viciously between four riders; Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team), Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri (Aruba.it Racing) together with Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team). The win also marked Rea’s 40th career victory in WorldSBK. (more…)
