Buell

Buell Motorcycle has unveiled the production-ready SuperTouring 1190 at the ongoing 2023 Daytona Bike Week. This comes after the brand’s 2022 prototype failed to live up to expectations when it was unveiled last year.

While the bodywork remains largely unchanged, the new front fairing is a significant upgrade over the 2022 prototype’s boxy headlamp cluster. The updated fascia, developed in partnership with renowned industrial designer J. Ruiter, features winglets that give the SuperTouring a modern, sleek look.

Under the surface, the SuperTouring still features Buell’s 1,190cc ET-V2 engine. The 72-degree V-twin generates 185 horsepower at 10,600 rpm and 102 ft-lbs of torque at 8200 rpm.

Buell Motorcycle CEO Bill Melvin expressed his optimism for the SuperTouring 1190, stating that it will lead the American market in speed, handling, and performance. He added that Buell is building a strong reputation as a small, responsive company that provides a unique customer experience.

Melvin also noted that despite supply chain challenges, the SuperTouring 1190 is on target for production to begin this fall. With the bike’s significant improvements over the past year, it’s clear that Buell has high hopes for its upcoming contender.

Buell’s unveiling of the SuperTouring 1190 at Daytona Bike Week shows that the brand is back and ready to compete in the performance touring segment. With its sleek design and powerful engine, the SuperTouring is sure to turn heads and capture the attention of motorcycle enthusiasts.

Buell Motorcycle is ready to expand its brand into the cruiser segment with its all-new super cruiser.

  • Upcoming Buell Super Cruiser plans for 2025 launch.
  • The Super Cruiser to feature the firm 1190cc V-Twin engine.

Designed in partnership with Roland Sands Design, the super cruiser is equipped with the firm’s ET-V2 1190cc V-Twin engine that’s also found in the Buell Hammerhead 1990, 1190 SX, Baja Dune Racer and the Supertouring.

However, while the Hammerhead and 1190 SX is already available for purchase in the US, the Super Cruiser along with the Baja Dune Racer and Supertouring will not be available until 2025.

That said, 2025 is set to be a busy year for the American motorcycle company.

While Buell remains tight lipped on the bike’s specifications, they willingly shared several photos of the upcoming bike on social media.

Interestingly, the current 1190cc V-Twin engine makes 185hp and 138Nm, presumably no changes is done to the mill, the Super Cruiser could possibly be the most powerful cruiser ever build.

Buell Motorcycle recently made a comeback with a new range of motorcycles one of which is includes the upcoming Baja DR dirt bike.

  • Buell Baja DR to roll out in 2023.
  • Buell claimed the Baja DR is the world’s fastest production off-road motorcycle.

However, the Baja DR is not your typical dirt bike, it’s more of a hill climber/dune racer than a true motocross machine.

Bull first revealed the Baja DR back in March along with the SuperTouring 1190 which is claimed to be the world’s fastest touring bike.

Powering the Bajaj DR is the firm’s 1190cc 72-degree V-Twin capable of pumping 175hp and 137Nm. According to Buell, the Baja DR will be the world fastest production off-road machine.

In a latest development, the American company has confirmed that the Baja DR is set to roll out in 2023. However, Buell hasn’t exactly provided a specific date for the launch.

Nevertheless, if you’re still interested for the Baja DR, head over to the company’s website to submit your order for the USD19,995 (RM91k) dirt bike.

Buell Motorcycles telah pun mendedahkan dua jentera baharu untuk pasaran global, SuperTouring 1190 dan DR Baja, baru-baru ini.

Ketika DR Baja menampilkan rekaan konvensional bercirikan ‘dirt bike’, reka bentuk SuperTouring 1190 paling mencuri tumpuan.

Sejujurnya, rupa SuperTouring 1190 seakan gabungan cebisan pelbagai jenis motosikal Buell Motorcycles lain.

Buell Motorcycle has officially pulled the wrap off the SuperTouring 1190 and Baja DR dirtbike at the Daytona Bike Week.

The returning American brand decided Daytona Bike Week as the best platform to announce the company’s latest revival.

After the success of unveiling the Hammerhead 1190 RX sports bike back in November 2021, Buell began its 2022 campaign with the official launch of the SuperTouring 1190.

Claimed as ‘The World Fastest Touring Bike’, the SuperTouring 1190 makes 185hp and 137Nm from the Hammerhead’s detuned 1190cc V-Twin engine.

While it is a big claim from the American company – which the Kawasaki H2 SX can easily debunk – the SuperTouring 1190 comes with a hefty price tag of USD21,995 (RM92k).

Although the teaser photo – unveiled last year – looks promising, the finished product certainly caught our attention mainly because of its oddball looks and unusual road-bias set-up.

The side profile features an alloy fuel-in-frame design, while the front-end is dominated by two circular headlamps – taken from the Buell XB12 – wrapped in a chunky rectangular cowl paired to a vertical windscreen.

Frankly, it looks as if the bike pieces together from a different set of motorcycles altogether.

Meanwhile, the DR Baja marks the company’s first step into the dirt bike category.

The DR Baja is also fitted with the same 72-degree V-Twin 1190cc engine capable of pumping 175hp, making it the most powerful production dirtbike in the world.

Reborn American motorcycle firm Buell has announced that it will launch two new models at the Daytona Bike Week 2022.

Buell is set to unveil the SuperTouring 1190 and Baja DR dirtbike on March 5, 2022.

The two motorcycles will join the 1190 RX (Hammerhead) sports bike, launched last year.

The SuperTouring 1190 and Baja DR will mark the company’s next chapter of building a motorcycle from the ground up.

The Buell SuperTouring 1190 was first showcased as a rendered image together with the announcement of the company’s resurrection 12 months ago.

“The Buell SuperTouring 1190 is a next level touring bike with designs that will bring excitement back to American touring motorcycles! Plus, despite supply chain headwinds, it’s on target for production to start this fall!,” said Bill Melvin, CEO of Buell Motorcycle Co.

Claimed to be the ‘World’s Fastest Touring Bike’, the SuperTouring 1190 will go head-to-head with BMW’s R 1250 GS, KTM 1290 Super Adventure, Ducati Multistrada V4 and Harley’s Pan America 1250.

The SuperTouring 1190 makes a whopping 185hp and 137Nm from its venerable 1190cc V-Twin engine.

Meanwhile, the Baja DR features a 72-degree V-Twin engine that pumps 175hp and 137Nm. According to the company, the Baja DR will go on sale in 2023.

American motorcycle company Buell Motorcycle officially makes a comeback by unveiling the 2021 Hammerhead 1190RX.

The story of Buell to make a return came up earlier this year in February, as the company formally starts its production in America with ten performance models to be introduced by 2024.

It looks like Buell is finally holding on to its word by introducing the Hammerhead 1990X in the United States.

Nonetheless, the Hammerhead 1190X looks menacing, thanks to its ‘fish gills’ located on the side of the fairing, a curvature front (side-view), and an expose subframe.

Underneath the new motorcycle sits a 1190cc V-Twin, liquid-cooled engine, capable of punching out a 185hp @ 10,600rpm and 137.8Nm @ 8,200rpm.

While the Hammerhead might advertise as a 2021 motorcycle, the foundation is heavily based on the 2014 EBR 1190RX.

However, the company promised a batch of “brand-new” motorcycles, with the next in line rumoured to be a Sports Tourer version of 1190. Hopefully, that could be the model to put forth the Buell Motorcycle brand in the same pot as its fellow American competitors.
