Most don’t understand that the purpose of a Can-Am is not practicality or to satisfy transportation needs, and most are quick to dismiss it as a complete sham of a bike. (more…)

Aprilia gets 1-2-3 at Phillip Island World Superbike Race 1. It’s the second time that the manufacturer from Noale monopolise the podium (first one was at Nurburgring last year) with works rider Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia Racing Team) taking his 4th win of the career in his first race onboard the RSV4, ahead of team mate Eugene Laverty. HONDA launched its new generation CTX700 model range just last week. Based on the NC700, the CTX concept (short for Honda’s Comfort Technology Experience) embodied in all four variants (CTX700, CTX700N, CTX700D, and CTX700ND) merges the essences of a commuter, cruiser, and tourer all at once. Honda VTR 250 F

WITH a production history dating back to the early 1980s, the Honda VTR250F made its comeback recently in the Japanese domestic market.

Dubbed by many as a mini-VFR750, the 2013 model retains its signature fuel-injected 249cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine configuration generating up to 29bhp. The 2013 VTR250F also features the CBR250R’s headlamps to go with its half-fairing body that strongly hints towards the FireStorm. (more…)

I’ve never really liked scooters. It is just so hard to look macho on one and only girls should ride them. That’s why macho men have always posed for photographs with real motorcycles, not scooters. (more…)

The British have a long history of two-wheeled rebellion. In the 50s, biker groups called the ‘ton up boys’ roamed London’s inner city streets, congregating in iconic places such as Ace Café. These boys with greased up hairstyles got their name from riding 100mph-capable bikes in the days of spindly frames and wobbly forks. A result of the 1950s era’s economic prosperity, youths from the lower income had the means to indulge in what was previously an elitist hobby of the 1930s – biking. This became a way of life, giving bikes like the original Speed Twin cult status. (more…)

Renowned automotive custom designers Vilner have taken another (rare) step into the world of motorcycles. The result: a heavily customised Aprilia Tuono aptly named the Stingray.

Vilner-Aprilia-Stingray-12[3]

The Stingray’s transformation from its Tuono base-bike is pretty extensive. It sports a brand new set of fenders, redesigned headlamps and turn signals with LEDs, new side spoilers with two-vents carved in each, tinted/smoked rear lamps, and a redesigned fuel tank. Topping it off, Vilner has reupholstered the seats on the Stingray, re-sprayed the wheels, painted parts of the Tuono’s frame in black, repositioned the license plate holders, and extended the Tuono’s orginal fork and driving chain length by 150mm. KAWASAKI has unveiled its Z250 naked bike. Essentially a Ninja 300 minus its front fairings, the new naked is fairly simple and packs the same powerplant as its full-bodied brethren. (more…)

SPANISH bike maker Rieju has released a naked version of its RS3 125 learner sports bike. Capitalising on an ever-growing bikes segment in Europe, the naked RS3 is set to compete against competitors such as the Yamaha YBR125.

Ironically, a Yamaha-Minarelli sourced four-valve liquid-cooled engine producing 14.8bhp powers the RS3 NKD. Weighing in at just 120kg, the power output should give the featherweight naked a very punchy power delivery. Specs on the RS3 125 NKD include a multi-function digital instrumentation display, 41mm Paioli inverted forks, a wavy 300mm front disc brake by Galfer, as well as cast alloy swingarm. (more…)

THE BMW Group has announced that the firm has sold its Husqvarna sub-brand at an undisclosed price. The swedish sub-brand is now under the stewardship of Pierer Industries AG, a firm coincidentally owned by KTM CEO Stefan Pierer.

“Hate it, or love, the underdogs still on top”, rapped The Game and 50 cent in ‘hate it, or love it’, a song off the game’s earlier albums. For Wayne Rooney haters, that one line cannot be more true. (more…)
