Yamaha XV950R Bolt-based Son Of Time café racer is the latest addition to the Yamaha Yard Built series.
Now THIS is how you do a proper café racer custom work on the Yamaha XV950R Bolt cruiser. Called the Son Of Time, this custom work is the very latest addition into the Yamaha Yard Built series of exquisite custom bikes.
The Son Of Time was the result of a Dutch-born collaboration between Amsterdam-based builders Numbnut Motorcycles and watchmakers TW Steel. The build saw Numbnut Motorcycles stripping the stock Yamaha XV950R down to its bone before proceeding to give it a rebirth as a café racer.
The transformation from cruiser to café racer is complete to say the least. Notable traits here include the swept back foot controls, single-seat layout, clip-on handlebars, as well as a full spectrum of performance upgrades.
Much of the minimalist outlook pays tribute to salt flat racers of yester-year. Bespoke components include the air intake, engine covers, the single-seat, as well as the fuel tank. The custom exhaust work was sourced from fellow Dutch builders Nozem whilst the weight-saving carbon wheels were from Dymag.
Numbnut Motorcycles also opted to give the Son Of Time an upgraded set of brakes. The front is now primed with twin floating 320mm Brembo discs that are grabbed by Brembo monoblock calipers plus the addition of a Brembo RCS19 brake master as well.
Another major upgrade lie in the custom suspension primed front and aft. The Son Of Time is suspended using fully adjustable front forks and rear shocks supplied be renowned UK specialists K-Tech. Other upgrades include the adoption of sticky Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres as well as the addition of a power commander unit and quickshifter from Dynojet for added performance.
