Essential anti low-side cornering ABS now available as retro-fit for older BMW S1000RR model.

On another note, BMW Motorrad is now offering the option to retro-fit some of its older models with the cornering ABS suite from Bosch. The system, known as the Bosch MSC cornering ABS, has been hailed as a breakthrough in terms of motorcycle safety as it greatly reduces the risk of low-siding. Crucially, the retro-fit upgrade, which BMW brands as “ABS Pro”, is now available for S1000RR supersport model made between 2012 and 2014. Last year, the firm made a similar move when it made the option to retro-fit ABS Pro for its manic HP4 model. For owners of the newer 2015 S1000RR model, worry not as BMW Motorrad reassures that a retro-fit kit for it is currently in development and will be available relatively soon. The 2015 model’s ABS Pro suite will include the “Race” riding mode, whilst the slip threshold and brake pressure gradient have been set higher level road use with high friction coefficients as compared to the “Rain” and “Sport” modes.
