2020 Triumph Street Triple R unveiled

The folks from Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the 2020 Triumph Street Triple R, their latest 765cc streetfighter that combines the brand’s aggressive styling, amazing Euro 5 compliant firepower, and ‘in your face’ attitude all within a comfortably affordable price package.

In terms of design, the new 2020 Triumph Street Triple R is packed with goodies found on their range-topping RS variant which includes all-new bodywork, fly screen, air intake, side panels and rear unit. This gives the Street Triple R a more aggressive feature that goes hand in hand with its new front headlights.

Underneath all that cover lies a race-proven 765cc inline-three engine that has been tuned for better response and enhanced torque in the low and mid ranges plus 7% reduction in rotational inertias. While the engine is now Euro 5 compliant, the 2020 Street Triple R still produces the same 118hp at 12,000rpm and 77Nm of maximum torque at 9,400rpm with the addition of a new airbox and exhaust unit to meet with the emission regulations.

Also similar to the top-of-the-line RS model is its smooth gearbox that comes together with a slip-and-assist clutch and bi-directional quickshifter for some great fun under the sun. Thanks to a shorter first and second gear ratios, blasting the Street Triple R off the line is as exhilarating as the range-topping RS.

Other amazing specs include:

  • Brembo M4.32 four-piston radial monobloc front callipers
  • Brembo single-piston sliding rear calliper
  • Showa 41mm upside down separate function big piston forks
  • Showa piggyback reservoir monoshock RSU
  • Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres

The official price for the Asian market has not been released just yet but for the folks living in the US, it is said that the 2020 Triumph Street Triple R is around $700 cheaper than the 2019 model. The current 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS (which is already available here in Malaysia) comes in at around RM67,900 which means that the new Street Triple R will definitely be more affordable.
