Shell Advance Masterclass Series trains and rewards local motorcycle mechanics

The Shell Advance Masterclass Series organised as part of the Shell Advance ‘Outride Anything’ roadshow exclusively for local motorcycle mechanics.

The masterclass program was setup to help gear the local mechanics with useful knowledge and tips on proper motorcycle maintenance.

A total of seven online videos were developed in collaboration with Ducati to arm the mechanics with some bike wisdom related to brake maintenance, piston replacement and many more.

As part of its new ‘Outride Anything’ brand campaign, Shell Advance has launched an exclusive Masterclass training programme built for local motorcycle mechanics. The Masterclass programme comprises of seven online videos developed in collaboration with Ducati to guide and provide mechanics with expert knowledge and tips on proper motorcycle maintenance. Turbocharged Harley-Davidson Road Glide – “Mean, Green, Turbo Machine”

During the recent Art of Speed Malaysia 2017, we came across a very unique turbocharged Harley-Davidson Road Glide.

Owned by Mr Harun Hashim aka “Kicap”, the proud owner of the first turbocharged Bagger in Malaysia won the AOS2017 award for “Best Custom Bagger”.

The total cost for all the custom works was around RM180,000 which includes the turbocharger system, front 30-inch Sinister wheel, paint job and other awesome features.

You might think that the cruiser scene in Malaysia is getting bigger and bigger especially with the variety of manufacturers and bikes being more accessible in the country. While the stock or standard motorcycles are already awesome in their own ways, there’s a particular group of motoring enthusiasts who feel that their stock bikes are simply not enough. (more…)

New 2018 Ducati 959 Panigale Corse in the works?

A brand new 2018 Ducati 959 Panigale Corse emissions paperwork has been filed at the California Air Resources Board (CARB) recently.

According to the report, the emission numbers for both the standard 959 Panigale and the 959 Panigale Corse remains the same.

We’re guessing that the Corse version has the same engine but like all of Ducati Corse bikes, it’ll most probably come with some major upgrades to the electronics, suspensions, brakes and facade.

According to a recent report made by Motorcycle.com, Ducati has filed some paperwork to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for what looks like a new middleweight superbike that is the Ducati 959 Panigale Corse for 2018. (more…)

Malaysian Cub Prix: Kasma Daniel takes fourth win ahead of 600cc wildcard debut

Round 6 of the 2017 Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix belonged to race winner Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin which makes it his fourth victory this season.

This win is a definite morale boost ahead of his first 600cc Supersports wildcard appearance next week in the Idemitsu Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in Indonesia.

Kasma leads the CP150 premiere class championship with 100 points; 17 points ahead of Ahmad Afif Amran (Petronas Sprinta Yamaha – CKJ)

The Malaysian Wonderboy quickly on the rise in the motoring world Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin (Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor) has taken his fourth victory in Round 6 of the 2017 Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix. This fourth win out of six races is indeed a welcomed morale boost for the young rider who will be making his 600cc Supersports debut this coming weekend. (more…)

MotoGP: Oops! Marc Marquez did it again!

The second half of the MotoGP season saw the brilliant Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) taking the win in Brno in a sensational flag-to-flag race.

The 24 year old finished leaps and bounds ahead of his team mate, Dani Pedrosa who completed the Honda’s perfect one-two finish with a 12-second gap.

Maverick Vinales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) made sure that Marquez’s lead was not too far ahead in the championship by finishing in P3 ahead of his team mate, Valentino Rossi.

With the stakes for the 2017 MotoGP World Championship getting higher than ever, it was the ever brilliant Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) who yet again displayed his superb timing and strategy to take the win in the Czech GP. (more…)

13-time GP champion Angel Nieto has passed away

13-time GP world champion Angel Nieto has passed away after succumbing to his injuries sustained in a road accident last week near his home in Ibiza.

He was riding his quad bike when a collision happened between him and another vehicle on the road.

Angel Nieto won 13 Grand Prix world titles prior his retirement in 1986 back when he was racing in the 50cc and 125cc categories. He was 70 years old.

13-time GP world champion Angel Nieto has sadly passed way after succumbing to injuries sustained following a traffic accident just last week. It was reported that his quad bike was involved in a collision with a car nearby his home in Ibiza, Spain. (more…)

Volkswagen says Ducati NOT FOR SALE!

The latest report from Reuters stated that Ducati won’t be going on the auctioning block following a meeting by the supervisory board members.

The board which consisted of both corporate management and workforce representatives concluded that there’s not really a major reason on why Ducati should go on for sale.

Following a recent sales growth back in 2016 which racked up just over RM3 billion, Volkswagen and Audi believe that Ducati is still and will be valuable if it remains with them.

Following several rumours and news circulating around the globe pointing towards Ducati being auctioned off to the highest bidder, big momma company Volkswagen and its manufacturer’s board members has put a stop on any deals in regards of the big red Italian motorcycle brand. (more…)

2018 Kawasaki models receive new colours!

Some of the 2018 Kawasaki models will be getting a complete makeover with a bunch of new interesting colours.

These models are the Kawasaki Z1000, Z1000SX, Versys 650, Vulcan S, Vulcan S CAFE and the Versys-X 250/300.

The new 2018 colours will be available in the European market in stages starting from October this year.

It has been confirmed by Kawasaki that their 2018 models will be getting some new and interesting colours. These 2018 models range from the ever powerful Kawasaki Z1000 to the versatile entry-level Kawasaki Versys-X 250/300. (more…)

CONFIRMED: MotoGP Finland is happening in 2019!

MotoGP Finland is finally going to happening 2019 thanks an agreement made by KymiRing and Dorna officials.

KymiRing and MotoGP officials have signed a five-year contact to run the Finnish GP starting 2019 until 2023.

With the capacity to host around 100,000 spectators, KymiRing is said to be completed by next year.

The great land of Finland has finally been confirmed to join the FIM MotoGP World Championship calendar beginning 2019. The still under construction KymiRing and the folks over at Dorna has agreed on a five-year contract that will see MotoGP races in Finland from 2019 until 2023. (more…)
