Reigning Asian SuperSports 600cc and CP130 Champion, Zaqhwan Zaidi and Asia Dream Cup titleholder, Khairul Idham Pawi has officially inked a new contract with Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd. This agreement will see both riders continue to pursue their racing careers domestically and internationally with the Japanese marque until 2019.

“We are pleased to announce that both Zaqhwan and Khairul Idham had agreed to be part of the Honda family for the next few seasons. We believe these new contracts are in everyone’s best interest,” said Musashi Boon Siew Honda Racing manager, Zulhelmi Ahmad.

“Zaqhwan is one of the best Malaysian riders of his generation. He won the Asian Championship and Cub Prix title last year. It is regrettable his Moto2 campaign at the start of 2015 was brief and difficult but we are convinced he still has the potential to go far. With plans for his future now secure, we hope he can focus on putting together a strong performance for the second half of the season,” he added.  (more…)

Honda MotoGP rider Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team RC213V) claimed victory in the MotoGP class, in Round 10 of the 2015 FIM Road Racing World Championship held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, USA. Beginning with its first world grand prix race in 1961, at the hands of Australian rider Tom Phillis on his Honda RC143 in the 125cc class of the season-opening Spanish Grand Prix, Honda has now achieved an unprecedented 700* grand prix wins.

By the beginning of the race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Honda had tallied 698 grand prix wins. The Moto3 class started under light rain, with most top riders choosing wet tires. 18 year old Belgian rider Livio Loi (RW Racing GP Honda NSF250RW) had taken a gamble to start on slicks, which paid off as the wet tire riders inevitably pitted, allowing Loi to claim his first victory after a consistent ride, taking Honda one step closer to the 700 win milestone.  (more…)
