Royal Enfield Himalayan updated for 2021 – now with switchable ABS

The Royal Enfield Himalayan made its mark here in Malaysia when it was first launched back in 2018. After a couple of years and having gathered quite a following around the globe, the Himalayan is ready for its next step in evolution with a bunch of updates that we assumed were made through various feedbacks from the current owners.

New for 2021 for this adventure bike is the ability to switch off its rear ABS unit. The Royal Enfield Himalayan comes ready with dual-channel ABS but with more and more riders going for the road less travelled (and sometimes no real roads at all), the ability to gain more traction especially at the rear is very much welcomed for the 2021 model.

For better control, the new Himalayan also comes with an updated rear brake system that offers better feel and engagement while decreasing the distance needed to come to a full stop. Other updates include new hazard lights, as well as a redesigned side stand for better stability when you come to decide to rest for a bit before continuing with your journey.

For the US market, the 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan will be offered in three new colours options: Lake Blue, Rock Red, and Gravel Gray. For those who still favour the current options, you can still get it in Granite Black, Snow White, and Sleet Grey. Will it arrive here in Malaysia? Most probably, yes. When? Time will tell.

2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan now available in Malaysia – RM36,880!
