Moto2: Hafizh Syahrin signs with NTS RW Racing GP for 2021

National Moto2 rider, Hafizh Syahrin, will be continuing his racing career next season after successfully signing a contract with the NTS RW Racing GP. The 26-year-old Malaysian will be racing alongside 16-year-old Belgian, Barry Baltus on the only bikes on the grid using NTS chassis.

According to NTS RW Racing GP team manager, Jarno Janssen, “We are proud and happy to have been able to capture Hafizh. He is not only an experienced and talented rider, but also a kind and pleasant person. The NTS gets better every week, but we are still developing the engine, and Hafizh’s input and feedback are very important.”

As for Hafizh Syahrin, “I’m glad to be able to stay in Moto2 and gain the confidence of NTS RW Racing GP. I know how much effort it takes to develop a new motorcycle, but I believe in this project. NTS and the team have improved the engine step by step in a relatively short time. I hope my experience and feedback allows us to make big steps. I’m sure we can do a good job together. I haven’t been to my best this season, so I am very happy with the confidence NTS RW Racing GP puts in me.”

It won’t be an easy feat for the Malaysian to go against the likes of other teams and riders who have already familiarised themselves with more popular Moto2 chassis options like Kalex and Speed Up, but the challenge is all part of the game and Japanese’s NTS is looking to break new grounds come 2021.

Hafizh Syahrin is currently P21 in the 2020 Moto2 world championship with 21 points, which is slightly better than what the current NTS RW Racing GP riders are doing. Bo Bensneyder has only 7 points to his name, while Piotr Biesiekirski has yet to collect any points this season. The 2021 season will begin with a test on 26 and 27 November 2020 in Jerez, Spain.
