2018 Honda PCX150 introduced in America – RM14,341

The updated 2018 Honda PCX150 has been introduced to the American market.

Updates include a brand new design, chassis, engine parts, transmission, suspension, and more.

The US market has priced the new PCX150 at $3,699 (RM14,341) and $3,999 (RM15,504) for the ABS version.

An updated version of the Honda PCX150 has been introduced for the American market earlier this week and it comes with a host of different upgrades including a Smart Key system. In terms of looks, it certainly looks edgier and more modern compared to the 2017 model available here in Malaysia.

These updates go deep within the modern scooter including its chassis apart from that sexier front end where it houses a newly-designed LED headlights and full digital speedometer. The current PCX150 uses the underbone type frame whereas the new 2018 Honda PCX150 comes with a steel duplex cradle frame which Honda says it offers better riding stability.

A larger airbox and revised intake have been fitted to its 149cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which allow great efficiency and breathability of the new scooter. This is all possible thanks to a redesigned twin rear shocks with tri-rate springs which also allow for greater suspension travel.

To ensure that everything runs as smooth as they can be, a brand new low-friction V-Matic automatic transmission has been matted to the engine for silky and comfortable riding all day long. A pair of 14-inch eight-spoke wheels which are now lighter also help in this department as it cut down its kerb weight to 131kg even with a bigger set of rubbers attached to them (100/80 front, 120/70 rear).

There’s is still no news on whether Boon Siew Honda will bring this new model over to Malaysia. The American market is able to purchase the new PCX150 in July at $3,699 (RM14,341) while the ABS version sits at $3,999 (RM15,504). There’s only one colour option for now; Bright Bronze Metallic.
