The Qatar round saw a very interesting race as well as rumours indicating that Johann Zarco might move to Repsol Honda next year.

The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider took pole position and led the majority of the race before dropping to 8th due to tyre issues.

Rumours have indicated that Zarco might be replacing Pedrosa come 2019.

Ever since the very first MotoGP 2018 round which saw Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) winning the Qatar GP with a very familiar and stylish fashion against Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda), there have been other interesting happenings going around the paddock. Rumours have been going around regarding the possible launch of the 2018 Husqvarna 401 Vitpilen & Svartpilen here in Malaysia.

The stories have pointed towards the bikes being officially unveiled in a few weeks’ time.

Known as “White Arrow” and “Black Arrow”, both bikes are fitted with a 375cc single-cylinder engine with 44hp and 37Nm of torque.

Some very exciting news has been floating around town these past few days which indicated to the launch of the 2018 Husqvarna 401 series here in Malaysia. Officially unveiled a couple of years back during EICMA 2016, the Austrian bike manufacturer is ready to penetrate the world of street bikes with their highly-awaited 2018 Husqvarna 401 Vitpilen and Svartpilen. One particular 2018 Ducati Panigale V4 caught on fire last week in Vancouver, Canada.

The cause is unknown but the rider was riding normally on city streets when the bike was engulfed in flames.

Ducati North America has responded quickly and inspections are currently underway to ensure that this was only one isolated case.

Some worrying news has surfaced itself just recently about one of the most highly-regarded superbikes in the modern era. The technologically-marvelled 2018 Ducati Panigale V4 is all about being the best of the best but one particular machine in Canada was a bit too ‘hot’ to handle. (more…)

Swedish firm Cake has created the Cake Kalk, an electric off-road bike that’s a hybrid between a mountain bike and a motocross machine.

Weighing in at only 70kg, the bike is able to travel up to 80km at a top speed of 80km/h.

Each limited edition bike is priced at €14,000 (RM67,164).

When most of us think about the word Cake, we would normally associate it with a sweet confectionary or baked goods usually present during birthdays and other happy celebrations. Some rumours have been going around that the 2018 KTM 790 Duke will be arriving soon in Malaysia.

Dealers have already begun accepting bookings for the bike which is said to be officially launched within a few months.

Some of these babies have already made their way to the Modenas Service Centre in Shah Alam.

The 2018 Modenas Dominar 400 is said to be launched in the first quarter of the year at a price of below RM20,000.

Both the new Thunderbird 350X and 500X are designed for the younger generation with blacked out details and bright fuel tanks.

Priced from 156,000 INR (RM9,374), there is no news on whether the new Thunderbirds will be made available outside of India.

All 11 teams have been confirmed yesterday to join the 2019 MotoE World Cup during the Qatar MotoGP round.

Representatives from Tech 3, LCR, Marc VDS, Pramac Racing, Angel Nieto, Reale Avintia and Gresini sat down for a briefing yesterday.

Sky Racing VR46, Pons Racing, Dynavolt Intact GP, and SIC Squadra Corse from Moto3 and Moto2 will be joining as well.

The folks over at Dorna and MotoGP have finalised all the teams that will be racing in the very first 2019 MotoE World Cup series which will start next year. After announcing the Energica Ego electric superbike as the official race machine just last month, the teams who will be joining the cup have been selected to compete in the inaugural world cup. 15-time Isle of Man TT winner Michael Dunlop has confirmed his split with Suzuki for this year’s road races.

The Ballymoney Ace released a statement on his Facebook page last night stating his situation.

He will be racing his own MD Racing machines in the Superstock and Supersport races.

Nine-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi has unveiled his latest 2018 AGV Pista GP R.

Following the two-year contract renewal with Movistar Yamaha, the 39-year-old showcased a very retro-looking helmet.

With a minimalistic approach, his 2018 helmet was inspired by helmets used in Formula 1 back in the 70s and 80s.

Following the recent announcement of his two-year contract renewal with the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team, nine-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi introduced his latest 2018 AGV Pista GP R livery.
