2017 The new Mercedes-AMG E 63 4MATIC+ Estate and E 63 S 4MATIC+ Estate

Mercedes-Benz has added two new additions to their E-class lineup, the AMG E63 4MATIC+ Estate and the E63 S 4MATIC+ Estate. The new E63s offer Mercedes’ exquisite driving performance combined with the sophistication and style of the E-class.

As most AMGS, the new E63 comes with a recognisable sporty design that incorporates the wings and bumper of a coupé within the bonnets of the new AMG Estates. With a wider and more powerful looking stance, the Estates come with a wide front apron and splitter that also display AMG’s knowledge in cooling technology inspired from the track.

Both new saloons come with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that produces a whopping 571hp and 612hp for the E63 S. with a max torque of 750Nm and 850Nm between 2,250rpm to 5,000rpm, the new Estates will glue the passengers to their seats as they accelerate from 0-100kmh in only 3.5 seconds. One might think that this sort of performance will go through the fuel tank like water but thanks to its standard cylinder deactivation system, the engine is now more efficient than ever.

The new E63 Estates also come with the AMG Speedshift MCT (Multi Clutch Technology) and a 9-speed sports transmission. Coupled with the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system courtesy of AMG, the new E63s offer torque distribution to both front and rear axles that has been made full variable for the first time ensuring maximum traction in all road conditions. For the more adventurous, the S variant comes with Drift mode for added fun factor.

With a high-powered output and intelligent all-wheel drive configuration, the new E63 and E63S can stretch its mileage up to 9.1 litres / 100km with a low emissions making it environmental-friendly. The top speeds for both E63s have been limited to a mere 249km/h making the highway speeds a simple task to achieve.

The new AMG Estates are also fitted with AMG’s Dynamic Select Drive programmes, where drivers are able to choose from four different settings; Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual for a fully customised setting suited to the driver’s preferences. The addition of full-manual mode allows the driver to perform manual gearshifts solely from the paddle shifters connected to the steering wheel. If one opts for the S variant, one will also receive an additional “RACE” drive program designed especially for circuit driving.

With extreme power comes extreme stopping power. The AMG high-performance braking system included as standard offers a reliable, quick and fade resistant characteristics even at high loads of driving. Ventilated and perforated compound 360mm brakes discs with six-piston fixed calipers fitted at the front and 360mm single piston floating calipers at the back ensure safe and superior control braking modulations.

Whether it’s driving around town with its intelligent Drive Pilot semi-automated driving or pedal-to-the-metal blistering speeds around the track, the new Mercedes-AMG E 63 4MATIC+ Estate and E 63 S 4MATIC+ Estate are definitely a step further in the evolution of performance luxury vehicles.
