Moto3: Super KIP ready for redemption in Austria

The Petronas Sprinta Racing Moto3 squad heads to Spielberg, Austria, ready to redeem themselves this weekend. It’s now or never for Malaysian rider, Super KIP or Khairul Idham Pawi, who didn’t start the season as well as he had hoped. John McPhee on the other hand looks to repeat his success at the Red Bull Ring after finishing on the podium last season.

It’ll be a test for all teams and riders as they head into the second race of the three back-to-back events, but with no points collected so far for Super KIP, it’s not going to get any easier for the young Malaysian, especially with super-competitive riders in Moto3 this season and his injury isn’t really helping either.

According to Super KIP, “Clinica Mobile has given me something to stop me moving the injured finger, so that I can rest it as much as possible before the next race. This is really important because I know Austria will be tough with my injury, as it requires a lot of hard braking in the corners. We need to understand what we can do to help speed my recovery along.”

“I’m going to be trying my hardest and we’ll see what we can do when we get there. Last year I couldn’t participate in this GP so it’s been a while since I’ve been at the circuit, but we have two weekends at the same track so this will help me over these next two races,” added Khairul.

As for John McPhee, his strong start to season placed him third in the 2020 championship with 51 points to his name so far. He’s only 19 points behind the championship leader, Albert Arenas (Gaviota Aspar Team Moto3). With strong records at the Red Bull Ring, McPhee is confident that he’ll perform this coming weekend.
