This year’s Art of Speed Malaysia 2017 will be giving away a very special grand prize on Sunday in the form of a Yamaha RXZ Twinboss dragster motorcycle.

The RXZ Twinboss dragster is powered by two two-stroke engines which run in tandem in a combined capacity of 270cc which is equivalent to a middleweight four-stroke sports bike by capacity.

This year Art of Speed will be held from 29 to 30 July 2017 at MAEPS, Serdang so be sure to be there when they announce the lucky attendee to bring this baby home!

As Malaysians who are deep in the motorcycle scene or industry, there’s no denying the fact that two-stroke motorcycles play a huge role in the how the motorcycling scene has developed through the years. Mforce Bike Holdings has launched SM Sport, a new brand of locally produced motorcycles with their first ever bike; the 2017 SM Sport 110R.

The home-grown motorcycle brand has been developed by Benelli and Keeway to provide top quality machines at affordable prices to the ASEAN market.

The new 2017 SM Sport 110R is priced at RM3,788 (basic price without GST).

The 2017 SM Sport 110R is the first ever moped that was launched just moments ago by a home-grown motorcycle brand under the Mforce Bike Holdings, SM Sport. Kawasaki Motors Malaysia (KMSB) organised a very special Hari Raya open house earlier today specially-planned for orphans and the entire Kawasaki family.

From staff, friends, families to the members of the Kawasaki Owners Group Malaysia all attended the prosperous event held at the Dewan Angkasaraya near TUDM airbase, Sungai Besi.

Apart from great food, company and activities, KMSB also prepared a special test ride session for those who were interested in trying out the Kawasaki Z900 ABS, Z650 ABS, Ninja 650 ABS and Versys-X 250.

BMW Motorrad is happy to report an increase sales figure of 9.5% for the first half of 2017 compared to the same time as 2016.

It was reported that the number of units sold has reached 88,389 units; an increase of 7,735 units compared to the previous year.

The most popular model to contribute to the sales figure was the BMW R 1200GS reportedly sold at 17,159 units around the globe.

Despite other manufacturers are facing quite a difficult time for the opening half of 2017, it seems that BMW Motorrad managed to stay on top of their game. At present, they were more than happy to report that for the first half of 2017, they recorded a 9.5% sales increase worldwide. (more…)

Jakusa Design has released some interesting concept designs for some of present and older Ducati bikes with some pretty futuristic updates.

They’ve rendered a few concept mock-ups on some of the Ducati flagship models such as the Panigale, XDiavel, Desmosedici, Hypermotard, Monster and many more.

While most concepts tend to be too futuristic, the ones from Jakusa Design seems like they can be rolling out of the factory in the near future (at least, in our opinion).

As we slowly but surely move ourselves into the future, the thought of super futuristic modes of transportation are not just things we see on movies anymore. In fact, some great inventions and top vehicle designs came from motion pictures, animes and plenty other creations concocted by graphic designers and artists which started life purely as their wildly vivid interpretations of the future of transportation. The latest report from Reuters points to more names being dropped as the potential new owners of the Ducati.

Currently, the new favourite leading the bidding wars is the Italian Benetton family which are the same people who run the United Colors of Benetton.

Other like Bajaj, Polaris, Harley-Davidson and Eicher Motors might still have a chance to buy Ducati as they head into the second round of biddings starting next month.

According the latest report made by Reuters, the possibility of the Volkswagen Group letting go of Ducati seems inevitable but the main question remains on who will be “The Chosen One”. As of now, they have been receiving quite a few bids and offers from companies and firms that are not even remotely close to the motoring industry. In some cases, that might be a good thing. (more…)
