Triumph Tiger 900

Triumph is back with an updated 2024 Tiger 900 range that boasts more power, enhanced capabilities, and improved comfort. The lineup now includes the Tiger 900 GT, GT Pro, and Rally Pro, all offering significant performance and feature upgrades.

Under the hood, the iconic three-cylinder engine of the Tiger 900 has undergone a major overhaul. This update results in a 13% boost in power, delivering a robust 108PS of peak power and an increased peak torque of 90Nm. The revised engine components also improve low-end tractability. The unique T-plane crank and offset firing intervals maintain the characteristic performance and sound of the Tiger 900 while delivering enhanced performance across the entire rev range and up to 9% better fuel efficiency.

The 2024 Tiger 900 range introduces advanced safety features, including improved braking for better control and reduced stopping distances. It also includes an emergency deceleration warning system that activates hazard lights during rapid braking and automatically deactivates them when you resume normal riding.

The new models feature prominent marker lights for better visibility at night and in adverse weather conditions. They are equipped with new 7″ TFT instruments with updated graphics and menus, along with a USB-C cockpit charger. My Triumph Bluetooth connectivity is now standard across all models.

The redesigned rider seat offers improved comfort for long-distance rides, with heated seats available on the GT Pro and Rally Pro models. All models feature a 20mm seat height adjustability, and there’s an option for a heated low rider seat, reducing the seat height by an additional 20mm. This results in a lower seat height as low as 800mm for GT models, enhancing accessibility.

A new damped handlebar mounting system enhances the ride’s comfort, while the Rally Pro’s enhanced handlebar position, positioned 15mm closer, facilitates a more agile ride, whether sitting or standing.

The 2024 Tiger 900 range receives a stylish makeover with new bodywork, giving each motorcycle a more aggressive and adventure-oriented appearance. The addition of contemporary paint schemes and graphics completes the refreshed look.

Triumph offers a wide selection of accessories for the new Tiger 900, including the Performance, Protection, Trekker, and Expedition kits, with more than 50 accessories in total. These kits provide various options to customize your ride.

The new Tiger 900 maintains its class-leading specifications, featuring:

  • Optimized cornering ABS and traction control with an IMU
  • Up to six riding modes, including Road, Rain, Sport, and Off-Road (with Rider Configurable for GT Pro and Rally Pro and Off-Road Pro for Rally Pro)
  • All-LED lighting
  • Triumph Shift Assist (GT Pro & Rally Pro)
  • Heated grips and seats (GT Pro & Rally Pro)
  • Illuminated switches
  • Tire pressure monitoring system (GT Pro & Rally Pro)
  • Brembo Stylema Monobloc brakes
  • Model-specific premium suspension tuned for maximum road and off-road capability

The Tiger 900’s engine, known for its distinctive T-plane crank and triple exhaust note, has been further improved. It now boasts 13% more power, reaching an impressive 108PS. This power increase is felt throughout the rev range, resulting in a more robust mid-range and improved acceleration. The Tiger 900 delivers a versatile performance, making it suitable for both low-speed city rides and high-speed touring, as well as technical off-road adventures.

Each model in the Tiger 900 range features specific suspension setups to cater to different rider needs. The GT comes with Marzocchi suspension, while the GT Pro offers electronically adjustable rear suspension. The Rally Pro is equipped with Showa suspension, providing versatility on all types of roads.

The range offers a balance between road handling and off-road capability, with the GT and GT Pro featuring cast alloy wheels and the Rally Pro using tubeless spoked wheels for pure off-road performance.

All three Tiger 900 models are equipped with Brembo Stylema brake calipers, ensuring effective stopping power and a responsive lever feel for controlled and smooth braking.

The 2024 Tiger 900 incorporates new active safety features to enhance visibility on the road. Optimized cornering ABS and Traction Control are standard, with multiple riding modes to suit various conditions. The GT Pro and Rally Pro models provide additional customization for riders. Triumph’s Slip and Assist clutch system offers a light clutch lever action to reduce rider fatigue.

The Pro models also feature the Triumph Shift Assist system, enabling clutch-less gear changes. My Triumph Connectivity System is standard on all Tiger 900 models, providing access to music, phone, and turn-by-turn navigation through a user-friendly 7″ TFT display.

Comfort is a priority with the redesigned seat, featuring 20mm adjustability and heated options on the Pro models. A damped handlebar mounting system and improved handlebar position contribute to a more comfortable and agile ride.

The Tiger 900 range embraces a bold and adventure-focused look with redesigned bodywork and striking paint schemes. Over 50 accessories and four accessory kits are available, including a new Akrapovič silencer for weight reduction and improved sound.

Triumph’s 2024 Tiger 900 range offers more power, enhanced capabilities, advanced safety features, and improved comfort, making it a formidable choice for riders seeking a versatile and adventure-ready motorcycle.

Coming in new for the Malaysian market is the 2023 Triumph Tiger 900 GT Aragon Edition commemorating Iván Cervantes’ outstanding victory in the grueling Baja Aragón race last year.

  • Available exclusively in 2023, the Tiger 900 GT Aragón, showcase unique liveries and specifications.
  • The Aragon Edition pays homage to Ivan Cervantes’ remarkable feat.

Cervantes, aboard a Tiger 900 Rally Pro, dominated the 450km race, finishing an impressive 1 hour and 6 minutes ahead of his competitors. This victory highlighted the Tiger’s exceptional endurance and performance capabilities, even in the most challenging terrains.

However, while Triumph globally introduced Tiger 900 Rally Aragón edition and Tiger 900 GT Aragon edition, only the latter made its way to the Malaysian market.

That said, the Tiger 900 GT Aragon edition offer the same cutting-edge features, technology, and capabilities found in the highly acclaimed Tiger 900 GT Pro. With their advanced performance and exclusive aesthetics, these special editions exude a fierce and race-ready demeanor.

The GT Aragón Edition features a bold and elegant triple color scheme comprising Diablo Red, Matt Phantom Black, and Crystal White. It shares the same twin-color seat design and includes Triumph Tiger and Aragón Edition detailing.

The motorcycle retain the powerful 87 Nm of peak torque at 7,250 rpm and are equipped with a slip and assist clutch, delivering an exhilarating triple performance. Their lightweight modular frames and high-specification suspension ensure exceptional handling both on and off the road, promising an agile and dynamic riding experience.

The GT Aragón Edition takes handling to the next level with fully adjustable 45mm USD Marzocchi cartridge forks, complemented by electronically adjustable RSU suspension. Meanwhile, the Rally Aragón Edition features Showa forks specially tuned to enhance off-road performance.

It also come standard with engine protection bars. To cater to individual preferences, a wide range of over 65 dedicated accessories is available for customization, allowing riders to personalize their Tiger 900 Aragón to suit their unique adventures.

Pricing and availability

According to Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia, the Tiger 900 GT Aragon Edition is priced at RM81,000.

Triumph Motorcycles showed class at the 2022 Baja Aragon by winning the Trail category with Ivan Cervantes aboard the Tiger 900 Rally Pro.

  • Ivan Cervantes rode the latest generation Tiger 900 Rally Pro.
  • The Trail category is a new class introduced alongside Trail-Max for the 2022 edition.

It was a maiden win for Triumph in the new Trail category, which saw Cervantes take home the winners medal riding the Tiger 900 Rally Pro.

Although the Baja Aragon was Cervantes’ second appearance with the Tiger 900 Rally Pro, it was his first rally-style competition with the middleweight adventure bike.

“We came to the Baja Aragón with a clear goal, which was to win the new Trail category on the Tiger 900 Rally Pro.

“Our greater ambition was to finish as high as possible in the overall rankings, where people have been amazed at the pace we have taken with the Trail. We are proud to have done a great job, and I believe we have given everyone a lot to talk about.” said the 40-year-old Spaniard.

The Trail category was new for 2022 along with Maxi-Trail, which saw Joan Pedrero win the event riding on board the Pan America 1250.

The Baja Aragon isn’t just a platform for Triumph to test out the Tiger 900 Rally Pro but also signalling the company’s intention to enter off-road racing. Also, it is in line with the company’s soon-to-be launch motocross and enduro range.

“Once again proves that Triumph is here in off-road racing – and is here to stay. We chose this race because in the future we plan to come here with the Enduro project, and of course we plan to succeed.” added Cervantes.

If Ian Fleming is alive today, the Triumph Tiger 900 might be the weapon of choice for his 007.

It is lightweight, easy to manoeuvre around small towns and handles really well in off-road condition, making it the best vehicle to escape or chase any of the SPECTRE goons.

In recognition of the iconic spy film with Daniel Craig reprising his role as James Bond for the fifth and final time in No Time To Die, Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the Tiger 900 Bond Edition, limited to just 250 units worldwide.

Based on the Tiger 900 Rally Pro, the limited edition adventure motorcycle features the innovative T-Plane triple-cylinder 900cc engine capable of producing 94hp and 86.8Nm.

The main characteristic falls to its clandestine Matt Sapphire Black paint job with gold accents and graphics that create a mysterious yet aggressive look.

The fuel tank features the 007 logo, which also appears on the full-colour TFT screen during startup.

In addition, the frame, headlight, side panels, sump guard, pillion footrest, lamp shrouds and engine guards are also painted with a stealthy black colourway. The handlebar clamp also displays the bike unit numbers to remind you how “limited’ the Tiger 900 Bond Edition is.

However, please be mindful that the Tiger 900 Bond Edition is not one of Q’s crazy inventions, so do not expect it to come equipped with flamethrowers or automatic rifles.

Those are sold separately and needs special clearance from M.
