Milestone has announced the launch of the fifth iteration of their motorcycle racing game, Ride 5, which is set to release on August 24th, 2023.

  • said to be more personal than previous iterations, focusing on both the simulation aspect and gaming elements.
  • In addition to the traditional motorcycle and rider customization, the game will feature AI rivals with specific backgrounds, a free-roaming mode, and a “race creator” with unlimited possibilities.

Milestone hopes that these new features will immerse players in a comprehensive world, creating their own rivalries and extending the enjoyment beyond the track.

In terms of new tracks, the game will feature Autopolis in Japan, Sonoma in the US, and a new fictional circuit, as well as returning tracks such as Suzuka, Cadwell Park, the North West 200, and Brands Hatch.

In addition, the game will feature endurance races such as the Bol d’Or and Suzuka 8 Hour. Although there is no license with the Endurance World Championship, the inclusion of these races confirms the presence of the Paul Ricard circuit in the game.

On the simulation side, Ride 5 will feature a new suspension model, a new tire model that simulates the physical and graphical deformation of the tire, and enhancements to the endurance mode thanks to improvements to the dynamic weather system that simulates clouds. Additionally, the game promises motorcycles with more realistic top speeds, and endurance races will be available in online modes.

Ride 5 will be available in two editions on new-generation consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S) and PC via the Epic Games and Steam stores.

The release of Ride 5 is eagerly anticipated by fans, who have appreciated the lifelike graphics, variety of bikes and tracks, and overall improvements in each edition of the series.

  • Aprilia owners are starting to reap the benefits of the brand being under a new caretaker.

  • The owners under the Urban Riders club organized a weekend ride to Melaka for some fun at the beach.

  • The group got together and pushed off from Aprilia Malaysia at The Gasket Alley.

As with other brands under the care of Didi Resources, Aprilia riders are now reaping the benefits with more rides and programs, as promised by the new distributor. As such, the bike club Urban Riders celebrated the organization’s 5th anniversary by riding to Melaka, mostly on Aprilias.

The activity still managed to attract about 30 participants despite being organized in the middle of a long, 3-day weekend (Saturday).

The riders grouped at the new Aprilia Malaysia at The Gasket Alley, for a light breakfast and some catching up.

Two models were heavily represented, the Shiver 750 and Tuono 1000 V4.

Idon Pang, the Aftersales Manager for the Piaggio brands at The Gasket Alley welcomed the riders and thanked them for taking part in the convoy. He also iterated that new Aprilia bike sales will hopefully begin in October 2018.

He also reminded the riders of the inaugural Aprilia Track Day on 9th September 2018.

  • Modenas organized the Dominar “Explore the Unexplored” Ride to let Dominar D400 riders experience their bikes as sport-tourers.

  • The first ride was from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh.

  • The convoy stopped at a number of attractions to allow the riders to shoot pictures for the #motography project.

There’s no doubt that Malaysia has many attractions that are unique; and the best way to enjoy not only these destinations is by riding a motorcycle, which makes us motorcyclists a lucky lot. Consequently, this is what Modenas sets to do when they organized the Modenas Dominar “Explore the Unexplored” Ride from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh yesterday (19th August 2018).

The ride was also part of Bajaj and Modenas’s #motography project whereby the pictures snapped by the participants are shared as a database of sorts for other Bajaj owners around the world who wished to ride in Malaysia.

Apart from those, the ride was catered to the Modenas Dominar D400 owners, since the bike is branded as a sport-tourer.

A total of 12 riders signed up for this first ride and showed up at 6.30am for registration, breakfast and briefing. The organizers handed out a special T-shirt and sticker to each participant to commemorate the ride. They were then briefed about the #motography project and the ride.

True to the sport-touring spirit, a few had mounted larger windscreens and GIVI panniers and top cases.

The convoy pushed off from Modenas’s HQ and made onto the PLUS Highway toward their way to the Sungai Buaya exit for a short ride to the Selangor Dam at Kuala Kubu Bahru for the first photography stop. The convoy progressed in a smart fashion and the marshals made sure not to get in the way of other road users.

The sun started to shine down as the participants looked for the best angles to shoot the best pictures of their bikes.

From Kuala Kubu Bahru it was another short ride back onto the highway via Serendah as the group headed to the Tapah R&R to refuel. They got going after the short stop and rode to Ipoh for lunch.

A sumptuous lunch was organized at the multiple award-winning Indulgence Restaurant.

Based on the grounds of a pre-war bungalow, the restaurant’s ambience and food was a welcomed comfort from the blazing sun.

The haze had thankfully dissipated by then to a clear blue sky.

The organizers invited the riders to join in a fun game was organized in the restaurant’s compound.

The first required the riders to ride as slow as they can for 50 metres to test their skills in motorcycle control and balance.

The second game involved riding with a pillion. The passenger needed to throw a water balloon over a length of tape raised across the “track” and re-catch it without breaking it, while the rider must ride as slow as he can.

The winners received a RM50 Petronas fuel card each.

The ride got back on the road and headed to the last stop at Kellie’s Castle. Here, the riders took another round of pictures to be uploaded to the #motography mini site. The riders dispersed from this point afterwards.

There will be many other such rides coming up in the future, so please make sure to join if you are a Modenas Dominar D400 owner. Also, please follow the official Dominar Malaysia Facebook page for the latest updates.

  • After many rides to Melaka, it was Moto Guzzi Malaysia’s turn.

  • The convoy took the scenic route from Port Dickson to Melaka.

  • A great collection of Moto Guzzi motorcycles were present.

Owning and riding a motorcycle by yourself is fine, but there are times when you want to find out more about the brand you’re on from other owners. Perhaps to increase your number of friends in your network.

After a few successful rides from The Gasket Alley, it was the turn of Moto Guzzi owners to ride to the historic city of Melaka on Saturday, 5th May 2018.

As usual, the riders got together at Moto Guzzi Malaysia early in the morning for some light breakfast and catch up with old buddies or new friends.

The riders showed up on a good collection of Moto Guzzi motorcycles including the limited edition V7 III 50th Anniversario, V7 III Racer, California, Sport 8V, V7 III Special, V7 III Classic, V9 Roamer, and a Grisso 1200 SE.

The convoy travelled down the KL-Seremban Highway before turning off toward Port Dickson. They stopped at the Rezeky restaurant for refreshments and a break before turning south toward Melaka, riding along the coast for a more scenic route rather than droning mindlessly along the highway.

The ride passed many beautiful views of the sea along the way, including at Tanjung Bidara. The road continued through to Pantai Kundur at Tanjung Kling, and all the way into Melaka along Pantai Klebang where the group stopped for fuel.

From there it was a straight ride to the Straits Werx Café near Masjid Kampung Hulu, which is among the oldest masjids in Malaysia. The café also flanks the Melaka River so we saw passengers on the Melaka River Boat Ride taking pictures of us while we had lunch and coconut cendol. The cendol was a welcome as the day had gotten extremely hot.

The riders got to know one another better while chilling out after lunch, before adjourning for the ride home.

  • The Ladies of Harley Malaysia is a group of female Harley-Davidson riders.

  • They get together to share their love for riding motorcycles.

  • The ladies started their ride to Melaka from Harley-Davidson of Petaling Jaya for the first time.

While it always feels good to see a fellow biker on the road, it’s undeniably better to see one of the fairer gender, “Not as a pillion, but riding her own bike, instead.” That was what Mariana Mohamad, ex-national cyclist said while awaiting the flag-off of the Ladies of Harley Malaysia’s 2018 ride to the historic city of Melaka.

Mariana Mohamad is the first lady from the right

The ride was historically historic as well, since it marked the first time the ladies began their ride from the new Harley-Davidson of Petaling Jaya.

The 20-odd ladies had gathered at the dealership from early morning, for some light breakfast and catching up. Everyone was smiling and laughing, the air was thick with cheerfulness and anticipation. Among them were Mariana Mohamad, the aforementioned ex-national cyclist and, singer and actress, Fauziah Latiff. Also present were Nor Cilla Omar and Sura (Sue) Rahman who were the Champion and First Runner Up, respectively at the recent Inaugural Bikers Invitational Golf Charity Classics 2018.

“I’ve ridden with the Ladies of Harley Malaysia many times since I started motorcycling. That time, we rode to Melaka and today feels like an anniversary as we ride there but from a new home, HDPJ,” continued Mariana.

The ladies rode mostly Harley-Davidson Sportsters, but there were a number of other models, including a Softail Slim, Street 750, Dyna Low Rider and “Sons of Anarchy” Dyna Low Rider.

As usual, they held a short safety briefing before the “On the bike” call. They suited up and rode out from the hallway in The Gasket Alley (as there weren’t too many of them).

Out on the roads and highways, the group was expertly led by Nor Cilla with Fauziah Latiff as the sweeper. The group maintained great discipline and cohesiveness throughout the trip, besides displaying good control over their machines.

The ladies stopped for fuel first at the Seremban R&R before stopping again after passing the Ayer Keroh toll plaza, where fellow Harley-Davidson riders Hulubalang MG waited to guide the convoy into Asam Pedas Lagenda for lunch. By the way, the word hulubalang means the Sultan’s royal guards and palace guards – knights, in other words – during the Malaccan Sultanate during the 15th and 16th centuries.

From there it was to Harley-Davidson of Melaka in Taman Kota Laksamana. The dealership is undergoing completion and will be formally launched in May 2018.

The dealership’s crew escorted the entire group to a restaurant called Nyonya Lin’s Kitchen for refreshments including the famous cendol nyonya and kuih nyonya. The restaurant was bedecked with period paraphernalia such as vintage furniture, motorcycles, trinkets and toys. Even the interior design resembled that of Melaka’s pre-World War II houses.

From Harley-Davidson of Melaka, it was to another round of coffee (real coffee, not those one finds in pubs) at a beach. The Ladies of Harley Malaysia finally headed over to the Villa Lisa at A’Famosa Resort at Batu Gajah.

Before we conclude, this writer observed that the riders never failed to wave their gratitude to other road users who had given way. All the riders of Ladies of Harley Malaysia and Hulubalang MG were really friendly and not stand-offish to strangers who had requested selfies or to pose with their bikes. Whoever said Harley riders were unfriendly?

Great respect from us to the ladies and gentlemen during the ride.
