MV Agusta CEO, Timur Sardarov has revealed that the company received a total of 15,000 pre-orders for the upcoming Lucky Explorer range.

“We have already received pre-orders for 15 thousand units: in practice, two years of work.

“For all our models the market, in general, is receptive, we are seeing great interest from customers.

“And once the obstacles of the pandemic and the constraints on the supply chain have been overcome, we will be able to significantly raise our production levels,” said Sardarov.

Despite the Lucky Explorer 9.5 and 5.5 is only in a near-production stage, the two ADV motorcycles has received worldwide attention ever since its introduction at EICMA 2021.

The Lucky Explorer Project not only marks the Varese-based company new diverse lineup but also showcased MV Agusta’s strategic partnership with Chinese manufacturer, Qianjiang Motorcycles.

While the Lucky Explorer 9.5 is built entirely from MV Agusta’s new 950 platform, the 5.5 on the hand, is a direct result of the brand’s relationship with QJ Motor, sharing the same mill from Benelli’s TRK 502.

Despite the 5.5’s Chinese roots, both models will be built in Varese, Italy with Qianjiang also expected to manufacture and assemble the 5.5 range to ensure the affordability of the motorcycle for the Asian markets.

Meanwhile, Sardarov expected that the company will be able to manufacture more than 9,000 units of motorcycles in 2022, double the 5,000 units produced in 2021.

I’m here to stay, and the goal in 2025 is to bring MV Agusta on the stock exchange,” he added.

Chinese motorcycle company QJ Motor (Qianjiang Motorcycles) will soon distribute its range of motorcycles in Malaysia via MForce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd.

According to a statement, MForce is currently testing out a few models which are set to be on sale beginning Q2 2022.

For those who are not aware, QJ Motor is the holding company of Benelli and Keeway motorcycles that produces a range of motorcycles under the QJ Motor badge.

SRK 350

The entry of QJ Motor into the Malaysian market will subsequently expand the two-wheels market by offering a quality build motorcycle at an affordable price.

MForce is expected to distribute the SRT800, SRK600 and the QJ Race 250 next year.

As confirmed by patent photos, QJ Motor, the sister company to Benelli, is expected to launch the QJ7000D electric motorcycle in the next few months.

Rated at 7kW, thus the name QJ7000D will put the new electric motorcycle on par with a gas-powered 125cc with QJMotor claimed puts out 13.4hp.

The motorcycle was first unveiled as a prototype at the 2021 Beijing Motor Show and what caught our attention is the visible storage unit underneath the tank.

Looking back at the patent photos, QJ decided to continue with the same feature on the production bike.

It also features a ‘floating’ rider and pillion seat, with no bracket attached to the tail. Other features include a single front disc setup with an upside-down fork and clip-on handlebars.

Meanwhile, despite an offer as an electric motorcycle, the QJ7000D is equipped with a conventional manual transmission.

Moving on to the important bits, QJ Motor claimed a top speed of 104km/h and a range of 96km, making it a suitable e-bike for city roads.

Qianjiang Motorcycle, the parent company of Benelli, has unveiled the QJ7000D electric motorcycle concept at the 2021 Beijing Motor Show.

According to reports, the electric motorcycle will go on sale under the Benelli brand for the international markets.

Despite Qianjiang efforts not to disclose the technical specifications, reports suggest the upcoming model will set a new benchmark for high performing electric motorcycle.

Based on the images, there is some exciting aspect of the motorcycle that is worth mentioning.

For starters, a compartment is located at the tank that can fit a full-face helmet and is noticeable from the side.

The bike also comes with USD front forks, a monoshock at the rear, a fully digital LCD display, and a full LED light setup.

At a glance, we like how it looks and the idea behind it; however, it is still unknown when will the QJ7000D goes into production.

Nevertheless, like other manufacturers, the future is definitely electric. – GaadiWaadi

It has been two years since the news broke out about Harley-Davidson announced a collaboration with the Chinese brand Qianjiang Motor (QJ Motor).

The agreement sees the two produce a small-displacement and affordable motorcycle for the Asian market.

Fast forward to 2021, a new image of a cruiser recently made its way online, and it looked suspiciously familiar.

Dubbed the Qianjiang SRV300, the motorcycle is scheduled to be on sale in China but will be rebadged as a Harley-Davidson for other Asian markets.

According to reports, the SRV300 is powered by a 296cc V-twin capable of producing 30hp and was inspired by Harley’s Iron 883 with a teardrop tank, single-seat, round headlamps and extended rear fender.

It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard anything regarding the partnership between China’s QJ Motor (Qianjiang Motorcycle) and Harley-Davidson regarding the joint-venture project, the HD350 (or 338R). The tracker-like motorcycle might be shelved for now (thanks to H-D’s new CEO, Jochen Zeitz), but a second collaboration that leads to a more traditional Harley-Davidson approach might be on its way. Big things are happening in China this weekend as the 18th International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition (CIMA) is ready to put on a show and the first teaser comes from Benelli. Their plan is to launch a new range of motorcycles, including a new inline-four engine that most experts are saying that they’ve acquired it from MV Agusta. (more…)
