China’s motorcycle industry has been steadily improving in recent years, but there’s still room for innovation compared to their European, Japanese, and American counterparts. However, a promising development is on the horizon, as Qianjiang, the parent company of QJMotor and Benelli, has filed a new patent for an electronically controlled clutch system.

This exciting breakthrough is showcased on the QJMotor SRK700, a powerful 700cc twin-cylinder engine also used in the Benelli TRK702. Unlike the usual hydraulic or cable-operated clutches we see in most motorcycles, this electronic clutch is different. It allows for precise control using electronics, giving riders more options and flexibility.

What sets this innovation apart is that it can be used in different ways. On one hand, it maintains a conventional clutch lever look, but it is operated electronically, not manually. This could lead to smoother and more precise gear changes. On the other hand, it could also be part of a semi-automatic or fully automatic transmission system, making riding even easier and more enjoyable.

Some other companies have introduced automatic clutch systems in the past, but Qianjiang’s approach seems unique. It could allow riders to switch between a manual mode, where they have full control over the clutch and gears, and an automatic mode, where the bike takes care of shifting gears on its own, making riding effortless.

This innovative electronic clutch system represents a significant step forward for the Chinese motorcycle industry. It brings fresh possibilities for improving the riding experience and attracting more riders to embrace motorcycling. As the technology continues to evolve, we can expect other manufacturers to take notice and work towards their own advancements.

Qianjiang, the parent company of Benelli, is reportedly developing a new V-4 engine that will power the company’s future motorcycle models.

  • QJ Motor plans to introduce it’s own V4 engine in the near future.
  • The V4 powertrain is said to be around the 1L mark and offers more than 200hp. 

The engine has been featured in several patent applications published in China recently, revealing that it is a 90-degree V-4 engine with double overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder, somewhere around the 1,000cc mark.

Although the engine’s intended motorcycle model is unknown, some of the patent drawings feature the QJMotor logo, indicating that it will appear in at least one model in the company’s fast-growing QJMotor range. However, Qianjiang already shares its current engines across both the QJMotor and Benelli lineups, making it likely that the V-4 engine will eventually appear under the Benelli banner.

QJMotor range already includes more than 30 motorcycles, ranging from 50cc to 900cc. Therefore, the addition of a V-4 engine will help the company achieve its goal of having every type of combustion engine in its motorcycle lineup.

Qianjiang’s new V-4 engine project is a significant step towards establishing the company’s presence in the high-performance market.

Selepas memperkenalkan Harley-Davidson X300 bulan lalu, Harley-Davidson dengan kerjasama QJ Motor telah melancarkan Harley-Davidson X500 di pasaran China dengan harga jualan CNY44,388 (RM28.5k). 

Menurut Harley-Davidson, X500 itu datang dengan tiga pilihan warna; Vibrant Orange, Bright Silver dan Dazzling Black.

Kerjasama dengan QJ Motor menyaksikan Harley-Davidson X500 dikuasakan enjin sama yang terdapat pada Benelli Leoncino 500, dengan enjin parallel-twin 500cc itu menawarkan 47hp dan 46Nm. Kuasa enjin pula disalurkan kepada tayar belakang menerusi transmisi manual 6-kelajuan. 

Selain daripada enjin, Harley-Davidson X500 juga berkongsi kerangka yang sama dengan Leoncino 500. 

Antara ciri lain ditawarkan termasuk tangki 13L, lampu LED penuh depan dan belakang, panel meter digital, fork USD dan ABS dwi-saluran.

Harley-Davidson X500 merupakan model kedua hasil kerjasama antara jenama motosikal Amerika Syarikat itu bersama QJ Motor. Mengambil kira kedua-dua model ini dibina berlandaskan model di bawah jenama QJ Motor, pastinya bakal ada juga model akan datang yang berkongsi platform dengan model lain.

Persoalannya, adakah model mampu milik ini akan turut menembusi pasaran Malaysia?

Harley-Davidson first announced its partnership with China-based Qianjiang Group back in 2019 as part of a plan to expand its range to smaller-capacity motorcycles.

  • Harley-Davidson to roll out the Chinese-made X350 and X500 in Asia soon. 
  • The smaller capacity Harley-Davidson will be built by Zhejiang Jisheng Motor Vehicle Co. Ltd. 

Back then, the small Harley was referred to as the 338R, further confirmed by a leaked photo that revealed the side profile of the motorcycle. 

However, the latest type-approval filed in China has revealed that not just one but two bikes have been approved for sale in the country with the name X350 and X500. 

Accompanying the type-approval document is two photos that showcase the X350 and X500. 

Firstly the X350 looks identical to the early sketches Harley showed back in 2019, mainly the flat-track-inspired bodywork.

According to reports, the upcoming X350 shared most of its components from QJMotor’s SRK350 and Benelli’s 302S, including the same 353cc parallel-twin engine. 

That said, the document revealed that the X350 makes a good 36hp but tips the scale at 195kg, making it a pretty heavy bike.

In addition, the X350 is also fitted with the same rubber as the 302S, 120/70-17 at the front and 160/60-17 at the rear. 

Meanwhile, the X500 features the same frame and engine as Benelli’s Leoncino 500. The X500 makes 47hp and weighs in at 206kg.

Despite being fitted with the same front and rear wheels as the X350, the larger bike features radial-mount callipers and a bigger brake disc similar to the Leoncino 500.

For your information, both of these bikes will be made by Zhejiang Jisheng Motor Vehicle Co. Ltd, a joint venture company set up by Harley-Davidson and Qianjiang in China.

Selepas kejayaan memperkenalkan QJMotor SRK600 baru-baru ini, MForce Bike Holdings terus memperkembangkan jenama QJMotor di pasaran negara menerusi SRT800.

QJMotor SRT800 merupakan motosikal segmen ‘adventure tourer’ yang diperkenalkan untuk pasaran Malaysia dengan harga bermula dari RM38,888 bagi varian standard dan RM42,888 bagi varian X.

Dikuasakan enjin parallel-twin 754cc DOHC, motosikal ini menawarkan 75.1hp pada 8,000rpm dan 67Nm pada 6,5000rpm dengan kuasa disalurkan ke tayar belakang menerusi transmisi 6-kelajuan.

Antara ciri ditawarkan SRT800 dan SRT800X adalah seperti berikut:

  • fork depan USD boleh laras
  • penyerap hentakan belakang jenis ‘shock linkage’ boleh laras
  • cakera brek 320mm depan dan 260mm belakang
  • kaliper brek Brembo
  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) dwi-saluran
  • klac Assist & Slipper

Selain daripada itu, QJMotor SRT800 juga didatangkan dengan ciri elektronik lain antaranya paparan skrin TFT berwarna serta pengecas USB.

Sebagai sebuah motosikal ADV, kedua-dua varian menawarkan tangki 18.5L sekaligus menjanjikan tunggangan jarak jauh.

Bagaimanapun, perbezaan ketara bagi kedua-dua varian menyaksikan SRT800X didatangkan dengan rim jenis spoke 19-inci depan (rim aloi 17″ pada varian Standard), luggage (top box dan panniers) serta ketinggian tempat duduk pada 835mm (berbanding 810mm pada Standard).

Menurut MForce, SRT800X didatangkan dengan pilihan warna Navy Blue dan Cadmium Green manakala varian standard menawarkan warna Stone Grey dan Passion Red.

Orang ramai yang berminat sudah boleh membuat tempahan di pengedar sah MForce seluruh negara dengan motosikal tersebut akan mula dipasarkan pada pertengahan Julai ini.

MV Agusta mendedahkan dua model ‘adventure’ serba baharu sewaktu di pameran motosikal EICMA pada November tahun lalu.

Lucky Explorer 9.5 dan Lucky Explorer 5.5 merupakan model yang akan diperkenalkan jenama Itali itu bagi tahun 2023.

Bagaimanapun, 5.5 paling mencuri tumpuan kerana motosikal bersesaran 500cc itu dibangunkan hasil kerjasama dengan gergasi motosikal China, Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle Co. Ltd.

Qianjiang juga merupakan pemilik kepada jenama Benelli yang dipasarkan di pasaran global termasuk Malaysia.

Dalam perkembangan terbaru, MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 5.5 kini sah masuk peringkat pembangunan setelah Qianjiang memfailkan paten motosikal tersebut di China.

Qianjiang dipertanggungjawabkan untuk memasang motosikal dengan lencana MV Agusta itu yang akan berkongsi enjin sama dengan Benelli TRK 502.

Walaupun baru memasuki peringkat pembangunan namun menurut CEO MV Agusta sebelum ini, syarikat Itali itu telah pun menerima lebih 15,000 tempahan bagi model 9.5 dan 5.5.

MForce Bike Holdings are now accepting orders for the QJMotor SRK 600 at RM35,888.

Beberapa minggu lalu, kami melaporkan bahawa MForce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd bakal memperkenalkan model pertama di bawah payung QJMotor, SRK600.

Tidak lama kemudian, motosikal tersebut akhirnya membuat penampilan sulung di Malaysia, sewaktu pelancaran Benelli Best Shop Johor Bahru oleh TR Motorworld Sdn Bhd.

Menurut info, tempahan juga dibuka bagi QJMotor SRK600 itu yang ditawarkan pada harga RM35,888.

QJMotor merupakan jenama motosikal dibawah naungan syarikat Qianjiang yang juga merupakan pemilik kepada beberapa jenama motosikal lain antaranya Benelli yang dipasarkan di Eropah dan beberapa negara di rantau Asia termasuk Malaysia.

Berkongsi platform dengan Benelli TNT600, SRK600 ini juga diperkuat dengan kerangka jenis steel trellis yang ringan serta swingarm jenis aluminium.

Dikuasakan enjin 4-silinder 600cc dengan penyejukan cecair, SRK600 menawarkan 81.5hp dan 55Nm dengan segala kuasa disalurkan menerusi transmisi 6-kelajuan dengan bantuan klac slip

Selain didatangkan dengan enjin berkuasa, SRK600 juga dilengkapi komponen premium antaranya fork USD Kayaba (KYB) dengan penyerap hentakan tunggal Marzocchi.

Aspek membrek pula dikendalikan kaliper jenama Brembo yang dibantu dengan kehadiran ABS. Penunggang juga boleh mengakses maklumat jentera menerusi paparan TFT 5-inci.

Menurut info yang diperolehi sebelum ini, SRK600 merupakan antara model yang akan diperkenalkan untuk pasaran Malaysia yang kemudiannya akan dituruti dengan beberapa model lain.

QJMotor has a pair of 700cc cruisers in the pipelines, and they might one day become rebadged Harley-Davidson models.
