Seven “Superman” Arrested at KL – Seremban Highway

Police arrested nine motorcyclists on the Kuala Lumpur – Seremban Highway, last Sunday night. Seven of them were arrested for dangerous riding and performing “Superman” stunts, while the other two were arrested for altering the motorcycle’s registration number to confuse the authorities.

According to Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Director, Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri, the nine motorcycles are Yamaha Y15ZR, Yamaha 135 LC and Modenas Kris 110. All motorcycles have been confiscated for further action.

“The arrested persons were between 16 and 24 years old and they were taken to the IPD Seremban Traffic Police Station for further action. Legal action is carried out in accordance with Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and Section 108 (3) (F) of the same act, ” he said.

Mohd Azman said those arrested were not involved with any motorcycle groups from nearby districts such as Port Dickson and Kuala Pilah. “Some of them came from several areas around the Klang Valley and only use this highway as a convoy route to go to eateries located around Senawang town.”

They were arrested while the authorities were carrying out Op Samseng Jalan (Road Hooligan Operations) at the Senawang Toll Plaza. A total of six officers and 68 personnel were involved in the operation from 4 pm to 4 am.

The police also issued 101 summonses for various offences. Among them such as the registration number does not follow the guidelines (5), no registration number (20), fancy registration number (1), imperfect accessories (12) and no side mirror (14).

Apart from that, other offences included not displaying P and L stickers (10), expired road tax (10), noisy exhaust (7), expired license (2), structural modification (1) no brakes (5) and the owner allows improper usage (1).

PDRM Is Looking For Motorcyclist Caught Riding On Public Roads Without A Helmet

A video went viral on social media after a man was caught riding a Ducati Hypermotard on public roads without wearing a helmet.

According to Rule 4, Motorcycle (Helmet) Rules 1973, motorcyclists who do not wear a helmet while riding can be charged a maximum compound of up to RM300.
The man in the video was seen testing a Ducati Hypermotard.

The 11-second video also caught the attention of the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (JSPT), which is now on the lookout for the individual in the viral video.

According to a Facebook post on Wednesday, the police ask the motorcyclist to come to a nearby police station to assist with the investigation.

Members of the public who has any knowledge of the incident are also advised to contact the nearby police station immediately.

Riding a motorcycle on a public road without a helmet is an offence according to Rule 4, Motorcycle (Helmet) Rules 1973 and can be charged a maximum compound of up to RM300.

Man Apprehended For Hitting His Wife With A Motorcycle Helmet

Police have arrested a man who was caught hitting his wife with a motorcycle helmet after a video of the couple went viral on social media.

A 35-year-old man is arrested in Kelantan after a video of him hitting his wife with a motorcycle helmet went viral.
The suspect also tested positive with Methamphetamine.

The 1-minute 47-second video shows a man shouting at his wife in front of an eatery before hitting her with his motorcycle helmet.

However, Gua Musang district police, Superintendent Sik Choon Foo, has confirmed that the 35-year-old man was arrested in a house at RKT Kesedar Paloh 2, Kelantan, on Saturday (28 January).

According to reports, the suspect claimed that the incident occurred because he did not allow his wife to work so she could take care of his ailing mother.

Nevertheless, the man also tested positive for Methamphetamine after undergoing a urine test.

The helmet used to assault his wife was also confiscated by the police.

Chon Foo said that the man will be remanded for four days until Wednesday, and the case is currently under investigation under Section 323/18 of the Domestic Violence Act 1994 and Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Will Confiscate Illegally Modified Motorcycles

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) warned that they can confiscate illegally modified motorcycles.
Attention falls on the Yamaha Y15ZR or better known colloquially as “Ysuku.”
Not all, but there are many thoroughly modified Ysukus.

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) warned that they can confiscate illegally modified motorcycles.

“Illegally modified” in this sense means motorcycles that are modified without having prior or proper permission. PDRM did not say what proper permission means, but one can assume a permission or homologation from the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ).

The statement was issued by Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department deputy director Mohd. Nadzri Hussain. He made a stern warning that the police will not hesitate to confiscate illegally modified motorcycles.

The attention falls on the Yamaha Y15ZR (some non-motorcycle media reported wrongly as “Yamaha 15ZR”) or better known colloquially as “Ysuku.” “Last time, motorcycles that were often modified were the Honda EX5 but not it’s the Ysuku. This is dangerous because these users like to modify the motorcycle for speed and it is not able to handle it,” said Datp’ Mohd. Nadzri.

The police are aware of this trend especially among the youth.

No one can doubt the model’s popularity which is good for the industry. But like what the cops said, we’ve encountered so many that were so thoroughly modified that they could tail superbikes easily. Adding fuel to fire, many of those caught in illegal races were riding Ysukus.

Sure, motorcycling and modifications are a way of life but if the objectives are to win illegal races and lord about being overtake big bikes, it’s not a lifestyle anymore. It’s a nuisance.
