Moto3: McPhee Apologise Over Alcoba Bust-Ups

It was one of the most thrilling Moto3 race over the last few years, which saw 16-year-old KTM Ajo rider, Pedro Costa won his maiden victory in Qatar last Sunday.

However, the race was stained by a fight between John McPhee and Jeremy Alcoba.

The Petronas Sprinta and Gresini rider were a part of the lead group in Sunday thrilling encounter at Losail before they both involved in an accident at Turn 1 at the start of Lap 15.

Alcoba ran into Darryn Binder rear tyre and crashed out before the bike flicked and hit McPhee’s head and took out the rider from his machine.

McPhee, who endured the same fate a week before, lashed out at Alcoba in the gravel trap and managed to land a kick, with the latter also retaliated.

McPhee later issued an apology for the incident.

“I let my emotions get the better of me in Qatar, having been taken down for the second week in succession as a consequence of another rider’s mistake.

“I must apologise for my conduct – I didn’t react well to the incident.

“It is an adrenaline-fuelled sport, with obvious inherent danger; having a competitor’s bike strike my head triggered an out-of-character response, and I’d like to apologise to the fans, my team, Petronas and our partners.

“I accept the penalty and will move onto Portimao focused on the task at hand,” he explained.

Both of the riders were hit with EUR1000 fines for their behaviour and will start the Portuguese GP from the pitlane.

Alcoba will start 5s after the rest of the pack while McPhee is forced to wait for 10s before setting off.

PETRONAS Sprinta Lubricant and PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team Looking Forward to More Success in 2020

PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team (PSRT) achieved a level of success that other MotoGP teams could only dream of, and the new PETRONAS Sprinta lubricant is a key component.

Looking back to the 2019 season, the team won both the Independent Team and Rookie of the Year Award picking up a total of six pole positions and seven podium finishes. New Range of PETRONAS Sprinta with Ultraflex Lubricants Launched

A new range of PETRONAS Sprinta with Ultraflex engine oils was launched today.
The lubricant was developed together with the PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team.
The launch was carried out amidst the PETRONAS Sprint Festival lifestyle event.

A new range of PETRONAS Sprinta with Ultraflex engine oils was launched today, two days ahead of the 2019 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

PETRONAS is the title and technical partner to the PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team in MotoGP and PETRONAS Sprinta Racing Teams in Moto2 and Moto3. The Malaysian petroleum giant first tested the new lubricant with the MotoGP team at the Dutch GP in June. Since then, the team and riders have obtained incredible results for a first-year race team, including six podium finishes and scores of pole position and front row starts. The team’s success is attributable to the new lubricant.

The technologies and lessons learned in the highest echelon of motorcycle racing was adopted to the new Sprinta with Ultraflex lubricant for road bikes.

According to PETRONAS, the new oil was formulated to react instantly to the rider’s needs, and looking after critical parts such as the engine internals, clutch and gears. As such, the oil maintains its film strength, sheer stability and viscosity even at high RPMs. Consequently, the rider will feel that he has instant engine response and rapid acceleration.

But the lubricant is also designed to protect the involved parts in unpredictable city traffic, characterised by slow speeds, long idling time, hence high heat.

PETRONAS also formulated the oils to meet stringent global environmental regulations such as Euro 5 and Bharat (BS) VI.

Prices range between RM 15 to RM 67, depending on grade. They will be available from mid-November in PETRONAS Mesra stores and PETRONAS Partner Workshops. The range will also be exported globally, starting with India and Thailand in Q1 2020, followed by Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries.

The launch was carried out during the PETRONAS Sprinta Festival lifestyle event at The Gasket Alley. Fans got up close with Fabio Quartararo’s Yamaha YZR-M1 racebike; met PETRONAS riders such as Franco Morbidelli, John McPhee, Khairul Idham Pawi, Ayumu Sasaki; enjoyed delicious food served by food trucks; awesome “live” band and “basker” performances; and photography with PETRONAS riders on the specially airbrushed Yamaha YZF-R25.

Jake Dixon Sah Sertai Petronas Sprinta Di Moto2 Musim Depan

Selang 24 jam selepas Hafizh Syahrin sah menjadi pelumba Angel Nieto di Moto2 musim depan, bekas pelumba pasukan itu, Jake Dixon, pula disahkan menjadi tonggak baharu Petronas Sprinta bagi tahun 2020.

Dixon bakal digandingkan dengan Xavi Vierge tatkala pasukan Petronas Sprinta memasuki musim ketiga di segmen Moto2.

Musim 2019 merupakan penampilan sulung Dixon di kelas Moto2 selepas meraih tempat kedua di Kejohanan Superbike Britain 2018.

Perlumba berusia 23 tahun itu dijangka akan mendapat peluang merasai jentera pasukan baharunya itu sebaik musim 2019 berakhir.

“Saya amat teruja untuk menyertai Petronas Sprinta Racing. Pasukan ini cukup hebat, buktiknya kejayaan yang mereka capai dalam kelas MotoGP dan Moto3.

“Peluang ini amat besar untuk saya jadi saya akan berikan segala-galanya menuju musim depan meskipun musim 2019 sangat mencabar.

“Ketika ini masih tiada sasaran diletakkan tetapi saya yakin segalanya akan ditentukan selepas sesi ujian nanti,” jelas Dixon.

Sementara itu, pengurus pasukan, Dato Razlan Razali menyifatkan Dixon sebagai pelumba yang tepat untuk memperkuat pasukan.

“Kami menjangkakan keputusan yang baik musim depan depan di Moto2 kerana dia berjaya muncul juara dalam aksi sulung di Kejuaraan Superbike Britain pada 2017 sebelum muncul tempat kedua dalam musim berikutnya.

“Kami teruja kerana untuk pertama kalinya akan mempertaruhkan dua pelumba di Moto2 musim depan,” ujarnya.

Dalam perkembangan lain, Hafizh Syahrin mengisi kekosongan ditinggalkan Jake Dixon di Angel Nieto bagi saingan Moto2 musim depan.

Pelumba negara itu mengesahkan sertai pasukan baharu bagi tahun 2020 tatkala kontraknya bersama KTM Tech3 tidak lagi disambung selepas pasukan satelit itu memilih Brad Binder sebagai pengganti.

Bagaimanapun, Hafizh difahamkan tidak akan menerima sebarang pembayaran gaji sebaliknya ditawarkan insentif sekiranya berjaya melakar keputusan memberangsangkan musim depan.

Adam Norrodin Ganti Khairul Idham Pawi Di GP San Marino

Adam Norrodin bakal mengisi tempat Khairul Idham Pawi di Petronas Sprinta Racing Moto2 bagi perlumbaan di San Marino minggu depan.

Khairul Idham Pawi masih lagi dalam proses pemulihan selepas mengalami kecederaan tangan yang serius.

Berdasarkan portfolio, Norrodin bukanlah nama asing bagi Petronas Sprinta tatkala pernah mewakili pasukan itu di saingan Moto3 pada tahun 2016-2018.

Bagaimanapun, aksi sulung Norrodin di Litar Antarabangsa Misano minggu depan bakal menyaksikan pelumba berusia 21 tahun itu merasai buat kali pertama keupayaan enjin Triumph.

Sementara itu, pengurus pasukan, Dato Razlan Razali menyifatkan pemilihan Norrodin tepat dengan objektif pasukan dalam membentuk pelumba tempatan berkeupayaan tinggi.

“Salah satu objektif utama kami adalah melahirkan bakat muda dikalangan pelumba tempatan. Tatkala Khairul Idham Pawi masih lagi dalam tempoh pemulihan, kami berasakan Adam Norrodin layak diberi peluang untuk mencuba kelas Moto2 di peringkat tinggi.

“Kami telah menggunakan khidmat pelumba berpengalaman bagi menggantikan Pawi jadi kami telah mendapat pelbagai maklum balas dari mereka.

“Peluang ini amat penting bagi membantu Adam dalam meningkatkan lagi perkembangannya,” ujar Razlan..

Hafizh Syahrin Kembali Ke Pangkuan Petronas Sprinta Di Moto2?

Sejak KTM Tech3 mengumumkan Brad Binder akan ambil alih tempat Hafizh Syahrin, desas-desus mengenai masa depan pelumba negara itu terus bertiup kencang.

Pelumba berusia 25 tahun itu sendiri mengakui telah mengadakan perbincangan dengan beberapa pasukan di Moto2 tatkala kontraknya bersama Tech3 tidak lagi di sambung bagi musim 2020.

Sementara itu, keputusan mengejutkan daripada Johann Zarco yang mahu meninggalkan pasukan itu hujung musim ini turut mencetuskan spekulasi bahawa Tech3 akan menawarkan slot tersebut kepada Hafizh untuk digandingkan bersama Binder dengan pelumba kelahiran Selangor itu sendiri mengakui berharap dapat kekal di kelas premier MotoGP.

Bagaimanapun, timbul dakwaan baharu bahawa Hafizh akan kembali ke pangkuan Dato Razlan Razali dengan menyertai Petronas Sprinta di Moto2 berdasarkan senarai pelumba Moto2 bagi musim 2020 yang telah dikongsikan motorsport.com.

Merujuk kepada senarai tersebut, Hafizh bakal bergandingan dengan Xavi Vierge bagi musim 2020.

Vierge meninggalkan Marc VDS bagi membuka ruang kepada Sam Lowes menjadi pasangan baharu Alex Marquez.

Her husband had expressed his wishes to buy the bike.

Puan Norasyikin bin Mohd. Salleh from Johor entered the contest organized by PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Sdn. Bhd. (PLMMSB) through the purchase of a lubricant package including a PETRONAS Sprinta T-shirt at the booth during the PETRONAS Cub Prix in Pontian, Johor.

Puan Norasyikin expressed her gratitude in winning the new bike. She said that her husband had expressed his wishes to purchase a Yamaha Y15ZR in the coming months. However, a call from PLMMSB regarding her win took her by surprise, thereby putting the earlier plans on hold.

She and her family had attended the sixth round of the PETRONAS Cub Prix at the Gong Badak Sports Complex, Kuala Terengguanu to receive the prize from PETRONAS Eastern Region General Manager, Datuk Wan Mohd. Hasnan Abdullah.

There remains two (2) more Yamaha Y15ZR to be won by the contest’s closing date at 30^thSeptember 2019. The second prize of a Yamaha YZF-R25 and Grand Prize of a Yamaha YZF-R6 will be presented by PETRONAS SRT riders Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli during the Malaysian MotoGP in November. Pemenang Bulan Jun Diumumkan, Tiga Lagi Yamaha Y15ZR Menanti

PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia (PLMM) meraikan pemenang bulan Jun untuk peraduan PETRONAS Sprinta Bonanza.

Ahmad Shafiq Sharifudin, 23 tahun merupakan pemenang bertuah bagi bulan Jun dan membawa pulang sebuah jentera Yamaha Y15ZR.

Motosikal tersebut telah diserahkan oleh Ketua Peruncitan PLMM, Mohd Bahrin Mohd Yunus di PETRONAS Tanah Liat.

Shafiq – yang bertugas sebagai pelatih kesihatan – hanya membelanjakan sebanyak RM70 dengan membeli minyak pelincir Sprinta F700.

Peraduan PETRONAS Sprinta Bonanza telah pun bermula sejak Mac lalu dan akan berlanjutan sehingga 30 September 2019.

Tujuh buah Yamaha Y15ZR ditawarkan bagi hadiah bulanan sementara tiga buah Yamaha R25 menanti pemenang tempat kedua. Yamaha R6 ditawarkan sebagai hadiah utama yang bernilai lebih RM100,000.

Setiap motosikal ditawarkan turut tampil dengan livery PETRONAS Yamaha SRT yang beraksi di MotoGP.

PETRONAS Sprinta Bonanza Heats Up!

The June winner of the PETRONAS Sprinta Bonanza contest received his prize today.
He won a Yamaha Y15ZR, complete in PETRONAS Yamaha SRT livery.
There are more prizes awaiting winners.

PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia (PLMM) celebrates the June winner for the PETRONAS Sprinta Bonanza, in Bukit Mertajam today.

The lucky winner is 23-year-old Encik Ahmad Shafiq bin Ahmad Sharifudin who hails from Permatang Pasir. Ahmad Shafiq who is a trainee health worker spent only RM 70 through the purchase of two bottles of Sprinta F700 lubricants to qualify for the contest.

The monthly prize of a new Yamaha Y15ZR was handed over by PLMM’s Head of Retail Encik Mohd. Bahrin Mohd. Yunus. The handover took place at PETRONAS Tanah Liat, which was where Ahmad Shafiq made his purchase.

The PETRONAS Sprinta Bonanza began on 11^thMarch 2019 and will end on 30^thSeptember 2019. Seven Yamaha Y15ZRs are offered for each month. On the other hand, three Yamaha YZF-R25s are offered as the second prize, while a Yamaha YZF-R6 worth more than RM 100,000 is offered as the Grand Prize. More interesting however, are that the bikes sport the MotoGP PETRONAS Yamaha SRT airbrushed livery.
