Ninja ZX-25R

The Malaysian motorcycle landscape is about to witness a seismic shift as Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd (EMOS), a subsidiary of Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), officially announced the price for the soon-to-be-launch Modenas Ninja ZX-25R SE.

  • The 250cc inline-four screamer is set to redefine the 250cc segment, promising a blend of power, style, and accessibility that will captivate the hearts of riders across the nation.
  • In a bold move, EMOS has unveiled a price point that defies all expectations as the all-new Ninja ZX-25R SE will hit the market with a recommended selling price of RM33,900.

George Kashiwagi, Chief Marketing Officer, commented, “The price point does not only showcase the Company’s dedication to providing world-class performance but also makes the thrill of owning a high-performance sport bike more accessible for the Malaysian riders than ever before.”

The Modenas Ninja ZX-25R SE is not just another motorcycle – it’s a force to be reckoned with. Challenging for the coveted 250cc crown, this two-wheeled marvel is powered by a meticulously engineered liquid-cooled in-line 4-cylinder engine. What’s more, its robust design, complete with a voluminous tank, sets it apart from its predecessor, the Ninja 250, giving it a slightly heftier but more stable profile on the road.

One of the standout features of the ZX-25R SE is its ability to unleash its true potential at the higher end of the rev range, with an impressive redline that extends beyond 17,000rpm. This thrilling characteristic, combined with its finely tuned riding stance inspired by the ZX-10R, ensures that every ride is a symphony of power and precision. The low, close, and tight handlebar position guarantees a comfortable yet exhilarating experience on the asphalt.

Roslan Roskan, the CEO of EMOS, spoke passionately about the ZX-25R SE, saying, “The ZX-25R SE embodies the very spirit of both Modenas and Kawasaki – a blend of innovation, performance, and passion. It represents a new chapter in the story of Malaysian motorcycling, showcasing our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what a sport bike can be.”

From its captivating aesthetics to its cutting-edge features such as traction control, USD forks, and radial brakes, the ZX-25R SE is more than just a motorcycle; it’s a statement of intent. Drawing inspiration from the ZX-10R, this new addition to the Modenas lineup promises to ignite the streets with a combination of power, agility, and style that is truly lustworthy.

  1. Traction Control dan Quick Shifter

Kawasaki ZX-25R didatangkan dengan pelbagai ciri elektronik moden antaranya KQS (quick shifter), KTRC (traction control, Power Mode, klac ‘assist & slipper’ dan ‘electronic throttle valves’.

  1. Bunyi yang syahdu

Kawasaki kembali mencapai populariti di pasaran global sejak membuat langkah berani dengan memperkenalkan jentera 4-inline 250cc, Ninja ZX-25R.

*Ninja ZX-25R

The all-new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R will make its way to the US as confirmed by latest type approval documents filed in the USA.

  • The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is due for launch in February.
  • The 400cc inline-four is expected to makes 70hp.

More importantly, the NInja ZX-4R is likely to be launched on February 1st, 2023 based on the latest teaser shared by Kawasaki USA, recently.

While the documents don’t disclosed the bike’s styling in general, it is widely reported that the bike will look similar to the Ninja ZX-25R currently on sale in Asia.

The documents also denotes ZX400PP and ZX400SP which possibly refers to the model type, in this case with and without ABS as claimed by Motorcycle.com.

One thing for sure, we don’t have to wait for too long as the official launch is happening soon.

The talk of a 400cc inline-four screamer has been around for some time, particularly after the introduction of the high-revving ZX-25R in 2020.

There is no talk regarding how much power the ZX-4R might produce but reports suggest that it could hit around the 70hp mark, putting it on par with the Yamaha R7.

Kawasaki Malaysia has officially showcased the 2023 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R during a special preview at the Sepang International Circuit.

  • Currently, the ZX-25R is only available in Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
  • The Ninja ZX-25R makes 51hp and 22.9Nm of torque.

To our surprise, the unit on display is the newly updated Ninja ZX-25R previously launched in Indonesia, earlier last month.

That said, the Ninja ZX-25R features TFT instrument display replacing the semi-digital meter on the previous model. Thanks to the new dash, riders can now connect the bike to their smartphone via the Kawasaki Rideology app.

The ZX-25R also features new adjustable front suspension and electronic package.

Other notable features include:

  • assist & slipper clutch
  • economical riding indicator
  • electronic throttle valve
  • KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter)
  • KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control)
  • power modes

Power goes through a 6-speed transmission with a claimed max speed of 197km/h.

However, no official price is announced just yet with the ZX-25R is expected to be launch mid of 2023.

Two years since the official launch of the Ninja ZX-25R in Indonesia, the quarter-liter screamer will finally make its way to Malaysia.

However, the Ninja ZX-25R will only be on display as part of a promotion by Kawasaki Malaysia at the Malaysia MotoGP held at Sepang International Circuit.

Nonetheless, it is an exciting development as Modenas Chief Executive Officer Roslan Roskan previously said that the 250cc inline four-cylinder motorcycle will officially arrived as a 2023 model early next year.

So for those would be in Sepang for MotoGP, please make your way to Kawasaki Malaysia booth to take a closer look.

As for the engine, the Ninja ZX-25R’s 249cc inline-four DOHC engine produces a staggering 50hp at 15,500rpm (51hp with ram air) and 22.9Nm of max torque at 14,500rpm. In other words, you will have some good times when you rev this baby hard.

Other specs include:

Two years since the official launch of the Ninja ZX-25R in Indonesia, the quarter-liter screamer will finally make its way to Malaysia.

According to the newly appointed Kawasaki distributor in Malaysia, MODENAS, the Ninja ZX-25R will land in Malaysia within the first half of 2023.

The information was conveyed to us by MODENAS Chief Executive Officer Roslan Roskan, during the recent visit to the MODENAS factory in Gurun, Kedah.

However, Roslan admitted that MODENAS and Kawasaki are still yet to determine whether to bring in the motorcycle as a CKD or CBU unit.

Nevertheless, it is the news everyone has been waiting for ever since the Ninja ZX-25R appeared in Indonesia.

During the global introduction, Kawasaki Indonesia showcased four different colour options with two different variants up for grabs: the base 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R and the Ninja ZX-25R Special Edition (SE).

The differences between the base model and the Special Edition are the additions of selectable riding modes, quick-shifter (both ways), and traction control as standard for the SE.

Japanese tuners Trick Star turbocharges the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R with 100HP, and it’s capable of hitting 249KM/H!

  • The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R garnered lots of positive response since its introduction at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show.

  • Kawasaki Indonesia shows the way in upgrading it for track duty.

  • The video shows how they did it.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R garnered lots of positive response since its introduction at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show.

We can’t see why not: a screaming 250cc, DOHC, 16-valve, inline-Four engine, upside down forks, quickshifter, etc. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a 250cc inline-Four, so the bike would most probably still get plenty of interest just for the engine without everything else.

But Kawasaki Indonesia is taking it a few steps further, by creating a track weapon out of the bike.

First off, the bodywork’s replaced with an all-carbon fibre set by A-Tech Japan. Look closer and you’ll see that the frame and subframe are carbon too! The body is then given the “mesh” graphic, first seen on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-RR MotoGP bike. The tail definitely looks similar to the Ninja ZX-6R and Ninja ZX-10R.

The metallic orange coloured footpegs are hard to miss, too.

But we think there’s still more to come, as they have not touched the suspension, brakes, ECU, engine and exhaust system. It’ll also be interesting to see what they would do to the bike’s rider aid electronics and such.

Will we see this kind of effort in Malaysia when the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R makes it here? You betcha!

  • The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R was revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show.

  • It’s the return of a 250cc inline-Four.

  • The bike is full of great stuff like a quickshifter.

Finally! As promised, the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R inline-Four sportbike was revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Yes, the 250cc inline-Four returns after years of going the parallel-Twin route.

But it isn’t just a case of sticking a new engine into a frame and enclosing it in the Ninja 400’s bodywork. No no, this bike is packed with goodies that you’d only find on bigger bikes.

Where do we start…?

Okay, the engine first. The 249cc, 16-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled inline-Four is said to be tuned for low- to mid-range torque, while possessing high-end power. The intake and exhaust were also tuned for the exhaust note characteristics of Kawasaki’s inline-Fours. The performance figures were not revealed yet, however.

Over to the chassis, the frame is a steel trellis instead of the usual steel backbone or perimeter type common to the class. Kawasaki says that it was “designed using dynamic rigidity analysis.” Could that means tuned rigidity?

The suspension is high grade. The forks are SFF-BP (separate function forks – Big Piston) presumably from Showa. The Ninja ZX-25R will be the first 250cc bike to utilise them. The rear suspension uses the company’s Horizontal Back-link set up. Braking is handled by radial-mounted a monobloc caliper up front.

But here’s the best part: Besides the KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) and Power Mode selector, the bike comes with… drum roll… KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter).

No word on its pricing yet, but hope you enjoy these two videos.
