For the first time in MV Agusta history, the Italian motorcycle company is set to venture into the adventure bike territory with the upcoming Lucky Explorer 9.5.

  • The 9.5 makes 121hp @ 10,000rpm and 102Nm @ 7,000rpm.
  • to feature 7-inch TFT dash with smartphone connectivity.
  • quickshifter, slide control, cornering ABS comes as standard.

Complete with a 21-inch front wheel and off-road focused suspension and frame, MV Agusta is scheduled to launch the Lucky Explorer 9.5 some time in 2023.

The motorcycle is currently still in its prototype stages but some reputable media were given the taste of the new adventure bike in Europe, recently.

The Lucky Explorer 9.5 set to face a list of strong contenders in the middleweight ADV category including the KTM 890 Adventure, Triumph Tiger 900 range and the newly launched Ducati DesertX.

*Lucky Explorer 9.5

Although the 9.5 is MV first attempt in ADV segment, but CycleWorld – who one of a few able to try out the prototype mule – claimed that the motorcycle has genuine touring and off-road potential.

The 9.5 features an all-new 931cc inline-triple engine derived from the 800cc platform taken from the F3 and Brutale. However, MV made a host of modifications, including a new cylinder head, piston and valve train.

As a result, the inline-triple makes 121.4hp @ 10,000rpm and 102Nm @ 7,000rpm. That said, the 2023 Lucky Explorer 9.5 is set to out grunt the DesertX, 890 Adventure and Triumph’s Tiger 900.

Gear change is done effortlessly thanks to the quickshifter while braking is done by a pair of Brembo Stylema callipers up front.

Other notable features include:

  • fully-adjustable Sachs suspension.
  • 20L fuel tank.
  • Bridgestone A41 tyres .
  • 7-inch TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity.

Meanwhile, the Lucky Explorer 9.5 is also fitted with a host of electronics:

  • cruise control (standard).
  • switchable cornering ABS.
  • four riding modes; Urban/Touring/Off-Road/Custom.
  • six-Axis IMU
  • eight stage slide control/traction control
  • front-wheel lift control

For those who wonder about the price, rest assured MV Agusta is keeping it a secret until its official launch date in 2023 however given the firm’s position at the premium end of the market, we expect the Lucky Explorer 9.5 to be priced higher than the DesertX.

MV Agusta has rolled out three updated models for 2022: Turismo Veloce, Dragster and F3.

  • 2022 F3, Turismo Veloce and Dragster features the Reparte Corse trim.

  • all three models gets electronic refinements and equipped with 800cc triple engine.

All three motorcycles have been given the Reparto Corse (RC) treatment which features a distinct colour combination.

If you are a fan of MV Agusta, you would recognise the RC nameplate as the company’s racing department.

As a result, the Turismo Veloce, Dragster and F3 is an upgraded versions of the base model.

Turismo Veloce RC

The Turismo Veloce RC features the same 800cc triple engine found in the Dragster and F3 but with the power adjusted to just 110hp and 84Nm.

As a sports touring machine, the Turismo Veloce RC offers great comfort over long distances, and while the engine makes lower horsepower than the two, it is still capable of carrying the 21.5L fuel tank and 199kg (dry) weight.

According to MV Agusta, the Turismo Veloce RC can reach 230km/h max speed with stopping power comes in the form of a dual 320mm disc with Brembo piston callipers at the front and a single 220mm disc with dual-piston callipers at the rear.

Other features include cornering ABS with rear wheel lift detection and parking brake.

Dragster RC

The Dragster SC features an updated titanium nitride coating on 43mm Marzocchi USD telescopic forks at the front and Sachs single shock absorber with preload, compression and rebounds at the rear.

The same dual 320mm disc does braking with Brembo callipers at the front and a single 220mm disc at the rear. An ABS system also regulates the brake.

Like the Turismo Veloce RC, the Dragster is also equipped with a parking brake.

Unlike its touring sibling, the Dragster make 140hp and 87Nm from the 800cc triple and is the lightest among the three. It can also do a max speed of 245km/h, higher than the F3.

F3 RC

Finally, we have the F3 RC, which now carries the burden of becoming the brand’s flagship sportsbike since the F4 is no longer available.

Like the Dragster, MV Agusta upgraded the 2022 F3 RC edition with a titanium nitride coating front suspension that helps to reduce friction. The wheels are now 10% lighter, which MV Agusta claimed helps reduce the moment of inertia up to 7%.

The F3 is also the most powerful out of the rest, with 147hp and 88Nm and features a new traction control system with eight different stages and four-level torque control.

MV also claimed that the F3 RC could hit a top speed of 240km/h.

Other notable features include:

  • dual 320mm front disc with 4-pot Brembo callipers
  • single 220mm rear disc with 2-pot Brembo callipers
  • cornering ABS
  • 43mm Marzocchi USD telescopic forks
  • Sachs rear single shock absorbers
  • aluminium swingarm

Sadly, all three RC editions are available in limited numbers, which means by the time you read this, all 200 units of the F3 and 300 units of the Dragster and Turismo Veloce might be on their way to meet their new owners.

Motosikal kategori ‘sportsbike’ segmen pertengahan semakin mendapat permintaan tinggi dikalangan peminat dua roda seluruh dunia.

In 2005, MV Agusta released one of its rarest model as a homage to one of its legendary designers, Massimo Tamburini.

A limited edition “Sports class” bike, only 300 units of the F4 1000 were ever produced.

If you don’t already know, Massimo Tamburini was one of the designers who made MV Agusta into what it is today, and the F4 was one of his greatest achievements.

He is also responsible for creating other beauties such as the Cagiva Freccia and designed for other brands like Bimota and is also responsible for the beautiful Ducati 916.

Bearing a prestigious name with limited production, you can probably imagine that the F4 1000 will cost future owners a hefty price to get their hands on one of this sexy Italian.

The MV Agusta F4 1000 Tamburini doesn’t only sport a legendary name, it also comes with a 996cc inline-four engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The powertrain produces 172 horsepower and 112.53 Nm of torque.

The dry weight is 191.0 kg and top speed is rated at 282.8 km/h.

The F4 1000 also comes with other goodies such as a Öhlins steering damper, Marzocchi front forks, Sachs mono-shock, and Nissin calipers.

On the topic of chassis characteristics, handling behavior and ride comfort, the MV Agusta F4 Tamburini features a CrMo Steel tubular trellis (TIG welded) and a magnesium alloy frame.

One of the eye-striking aspects about the F4 are the gold-anodized 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminum wheels mounted to a single sided swing-arm.

MV also debuted their Torque Shift System, which is able to vary the intake trumpet length dependent on speed to maximize torque output.

All bodywork is carbon fiber, making this bike extremely light (183 kg) and undoubtedly gorgeous with aggressive looks.

So why are you reading this article? Well, the F4 1000 is a proper collector’s item and current bids are pushing its value upwards of USD30,000. So if you come across one, grab it while you can.

MV Agusta CEO, Timur Sardarov has revealed that the company received a total of 15,000 pre-orders for the upcoming Lucky Explorer range.

“We have already received pre-orders for 15 thousand units: in practice, two years of work.

“For all our models the market, in general, is receptive, we are seeing great interest from customers.

“And once the obstacles of the pandemic and the constraints on the supply chain have been overcome, we will be able to significantly raise our production levels,” said Sardarov.

Despite the Lucky Explorer 9.5 and 5.5 is only in a near-production stage, the two ADV motorcycles has received worldwide attention ever since its introduction at EICMA 2021.

The Lucky Explorer Project not only marks the Varese-based company new diverse lineup but also showcased MV Agusta’s strategic partnership with Chinese manufacturer, Qianjiang Motorcycles.

*Lucky Explorer 5.5

While the Lucky Explorer 9.5 is built entirely from MV Agusta’s new 950 platform, the 5.5 on the hand, is a direct result of the brand’s relationship with QJ Motor, sharing the same mill from Benelli’s TRK 502.

Despite the 5.5’s Chinese roots, both models will be built in Varese, Italy with Qianjiang also expected to manufacture and assemble the 5.5 range to ensure the affordability of the motorcycle for the Asian markets.

Meanwhile, Sardarov expected that the company will be able to manufacture more than 9,000 units of motorcycles in 2022, double the 5,000 units produced in 2021.

I’m here to stay, and the goal in 2025 is to bring MV Agusta on the stock exchange,” he added.

MV Agusta CEO, Timur Sardarov has confirmed that an all-new range of 950cc motorcycles is on the way.

The Italian firm CEO revealed the upcoming plans after an exclusive interview with Britain’s publication, MCN.

According to the reports, the new 950 range will use the 931cc three-cylinder motor found in the near-production Lucky Explorer 9.5 adventure motorcycle.

“The 950 product that we’re building is state-of-the-art.

“The 950 as an engine will also migrate into other platforms too, in a different spec.

“This is an adventure-spec engine, and you will see a more sporty, naked – there will be different variations,” said Sardarov.

Sardarov also unveiled that the current 800cc range will also receive the 950 treatment.

“The Superveloce, F3 and Turismo Veloce, are all going to migrate to 950.

“We will have an 800 and 950,” he added.

MV claimed that the 950 makes 121hp @ 10,000rpm and 102Nm @ 7,000rpm and able to reach a max speed of 250km/h.

Interestingly, the migration is made possible because the new engine shares the same overall dimension as the existing 798cc triple, making it possible for the new motor to be fitted with the same trellis frame and mounting points.

During the interview, Sardarov was also able to confirm that the new 9.5 adventure motorcycle would only arrive after April 2023.
