FIRST LOOK: 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour

Ducati proudly introduced the latest addition to its Multistrada family: the 2024 Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour. This highly anticipated release promises to cater to the demands and desires of avid touring riders, offering a wealth of standard features tailored to their needs.

At the core of the 2024 Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour lies the robust 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine, delivering a claimed 170hp and 125Nm of torque.

Notably, this powertrain has been engineered with an emphasis on the convenience of long-distance touring, boasting extended maintenance intervals. Ducati recommends oil changes for this engine every two years or after covering 15,000 kilometers with valve clearance checks suggested at the 60,000-kilometer mark.

This touring marvel comes equipped with four distinct ride modes: Sport, Touring, Enduro, and Urban. Sport and Touring modes provide access to the full spectrum of the V4 GT’s power, while Enduro and Urban modes adjust the output to a more manageable 112.6hp to suit varying riding conditions.

Setting a new standard for functionality and touring comfort, the 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour arrives from the factory with Travel and Radar packages pre-installed.

Notably, this motorcycle features Ducati’s adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring as standard, along with the Skyhook semi-active suspension system. Additionally, the Minimum Preload and Easy Lift functions are included to enhance the overall riding experience.

In a bid to enhance practicality further, the 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour incorporates a range of standard features, including an adjustable windscreen, handguards, auxiliary LED lighting, a tire pressure monitoring system, heated handgrips, and heated saddles for both the rider and passenger. 

Furthermore, convenience is heightened with a hands-free opening gas cap, a center stand, and matching side cases, ensuring riders have ample space to stow their gear for extended journeys. The inclusion of a center stand is particularly noteworthy, simplifying routine maintenance tasks that riders may encounter during lengthy excursions, such as chain maintenance.

Ducati has not forgotten shorter riders, as they have made provisions for a factory low suspension kit, which can be optionally added to the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour at an additional cost.

Ducati Easy Lift Function To Be Available On The Multistrada V4

Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has unveiled a new standard feature, the Easy Lift Function, aimed at making it easier for riders to stand their bikes up from the kickstand.

  • This innovative addition is set to enhance accessibility levels and cater to a wider range of riders, particularly those who may face challenges due to the weight and seat height of the Multistrada V4.
  • The Easy Lift Function is designed to lower the seat height of the Multistrada V4, thereby facilitating a more comfortable riding experience for individuals with different heights and body types.

Recognizing the need for improved accessibility, Ducati is also offering additional options such as lowering kits and lowered seat alternatives at its dealerships.

The inspiration behind this feature originated from the Multistrada Rally, which presented difficulties for vertically-challenged riders due to its relatively high seat height. In response, Ducati developed a solution that leverages the hydraulics of the suspension system.

By fully opening the valves of the semi-active dampers for approximately three minutes, the function allows the bike to squat, enabling riders to easily lift the motorcycle from a stationary position. This user-friendly feature grants riders the ability to firmly plant their feet on the ground, facilitating a smooth transition to an upright position and enhancing overall stability while riding.

Building upon the success of the Minimum Preload function introduced in 2022 on the Multistrada V4 Rally, Ducati’s Easy Lift Function offers another layer of accessibility for riders. The height reduction feature was met with enthusiasm, further augmenting the already impressive array of features offered by this large tourer.

One notable aspect of the Easy Lift Function is that it does not require any additional hardware installation on the bike for 2022 V4 S models. Owners of 2022 or later Multistrada V4 S motorcycles can enjoy this feature at no additional cost by having the function loaded into their bike’s system at their Ducati dealer.

As for future Multistrada V4 models, the Easy Lift Function will come as a standard feature. Ducati will notify owners about their bike’s eligibility for the update through the MyDucati app or via email.

Ducati’s commitment to enhancing accessibility through the Easy Lift Function demonstrates its dedication to accommodating a diverse range of riders.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Reborn In An All-New Iceberg White Livery

The Multistrada V4 is fast becoming Ducati’s most popular bike after ending 2021 as the best-selling model from the Borgo Panigale factory.

The new Multistrada V4 already established itself as the go-to adventure bike in its debut year.

For 2022, Ducati decided to revise the Multistrada V4 S with an all-new Iceberg White livery joining the already available Ducati Red and Aviator Grey colour options.

Interestingly, Ducati also updated the Multistrada V4 electronic package. The semi-automatic function of the electronic suspension now gets a new feature called Minimum Preload.

The new feature allows riders to reduce the height of the bike and make it easier to place their feet on the ground, especially during urban riding or manoeuvring at low speeds.

Ducati also upgraded the Ducati Connect and Human-Machine Interface function.

For current owners of the Multistrada V4 S, worry not, as these electronic updates are available to you. Ducati will reach out to you (gradually) via the MyDucati App and email and inform the availability of the updates.
