Argentina MotoGP 2019: Marquez Shows His Class to Take Pole

Marc Marquez scored pole position in qualifying for the Argentina MotoGP 2019.
It was the 81^stpole of his career.
The Top 10 qualifiers were separated by less than 1 second.

After a slow start and difficulties during all four practice sessions, Marc Marquez put the hammer down when it truly mattered to claim the pole position for the Argentina MotoGP 2019. It was the 81^stpole of his career.

The reigning world champion could only record the 8^thfastest time by FP3 giving his team lots of concern. Afterwards in FP4, the chain on his RC213V hopped off the rear sprocket. Marquez had to park his bike, ran through puddles and mud in the infield to a marshal on a moped who fetched him back to his pits.

Marquez then hopped on his spare bike to complete the rest of the session and Qualifying. But he almost crashed at the first turn during Q2, as well. The team proceeded to run a two-stop, three-run session.

The Spanish posted a super-quick 1m 38.304s fastest lap, putting himself 0.154s clear of Maverick Vinalez in second. Andrea Dovizioso steered his Ducati to 1m 38.468s to complete the front row of the grid. Dovi’s time was just 0.010s behind Vinalez and 0.164s behind Marquez.

The times recorded in Qualifying were more strung out compared to the amazingly close times during the first two Free Practice Sessions. Instead of having 1 second covering 21 riders, it worked out to 1 second covering ten riders ahead of the race.

Behind Dovi was Valentino Rossi, 0.241s away from pole. Jack Miller completed the Top 5 with a mere 0.003s behind VR46.

Meanwhile, the two riders of Petronas Sepang Racing Team surprised everyone when their riders Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo qualified sixth and seventh, respectively.

Cal Crutchlow, Takaaki Nakagami and Danilo Petrucci completed the Top 10.

GP Qatar: Dovizioso Ketepikan Cabaran Marquez Dalam Aksi Pembukaan

Andrea Dovizioso memulakan aksi pembukaan MotoGP 2019 dengan kemenangan di GP Qatar selepas berjaya mengetepikan cabaran sengit oleh pertahan juara, Marc Marquez.

Bermula di petak kedua, Dovizioso berjaya memintas pelumba di petak utama, Maverick Vinales sebaik melalui selekoh pertama.

Marquez turut bermula dengan baik sekaligus memulakan perebutan tempat pertama bersama Dovizioso.

Percubaan berani Marquez di selekoh terakhir berjaya menempatkan dirinya dihadapa Dovizioso namun pelumba Itali itu memiliki cengkaman yang lebih baik sekaligus kembali memintas untuk melepasi garisan penamat terlebih dahulu diikuti Cal Crutchlow ketiga.

Lebih menarik, keputusan tersebut merupakan pengulangan kepada perlumbaan sama setahun yang lalu.

Sementara itu, Vinales gagal memulakan perlumbaan dengan baik apabila mudah jatuh ke kedudukan keenam dengan wakil Suzuki, Alex Rins dan Joan Mir melakukan pecutan lebih baik.

Jack Miller turut bermula dengan baik namun ekoran masalah tempat duduk, dia terpaksa menarik diri daripada perlumbaan.

Ada masanya Rins mendahului kelompok perlumbaan namun jentera dinaikinya gagal menyaingi kepantasan Ducati dan Honda di garisan lurus sekaligus membenarkan Dovizioso dan Marquez merebut kemenangan pertama musim ini.

GP Qatar: Vinales Bermula Di Petak Depan

Pelumba Yamaha, Maverick Vinales berjaya merebut petak utama bagi aksi pembukaan saingan MotoGP 2019 di Qatar selepas mengungguli sesi kelayakan penuh drama.

Vinales meneruskan aksi mantap dari ujian pra-musim di Litar Losail untuk menewaskan wakil Ducati, Andrea Dovizioso dengan perbezaan 0.198 saat sementara juara bertahan, Marc Marquez terpaksa akur dengan kedudukan ketiga.

Jorge Lorenzo – yang membuat penampilan pertama musim ini bersama Honda – terbabas ketika memasuki selekoh kedua dengan sesi kelayakan berbaki tiga minit sekaligus memaksa pelumba berusia 31 tahun itu memulakan perlumbaan di petak ke-15.

Sementara itu, wakil tunggal negara, Hafizh Syahrin (Red Bull KTM Tech 3) akan memulakan perlumbaan di petak ke-22. Pelumba berusia 24 tahun itu masih dalam fasa penyesuaian ekoran berpindah daripada jentera Yamaha ke jentera KTM musim ini.

Dalam perkembangan lain, wakil negara dalam saingan Moto2, Khairul Idham Pawi, akan memulakan saingan di petak ke-21.

GP Qatar 2019: Siapa Juara Pilihan Musim Ini?

Saingan MotoGP musim 2019 akan membuka tirai hujung minggu ini di Litar Losail, Qatar dengan juara bertahan, Marc Marquez, bakal turun memburu kejuaraan keenam dalam tempoh tujuh tahun.

Bagaimanapun, GP Qatar bukan penentu dalam pencarian juara musim ini sepertimana dibuktikan tahun lalu apabila Andrea Dovizioso muncul juara sementara Marquez akur di tempat kedua.

Pelumba veteran, Valentino Rossi memiliki rekod paling baik di Litar Losail namun dia gagal muncul juara keseluruhan sejak tahun 2009.

Fakta menarik menuju musim baru menurut Opta:

13 – Litar Antarabangsa Losail bakal menganjurkan saingan pembukaan MotoGP buat kali ke-13. Tiada litar lain yang menganjurkan aksi pembukaan sebanyak itu.

4 – Tiada pelumba lain yang muncul juara lebih empat kali di GP Qatar selain daripada Rossi dan Casey Stoner.

0 – Rossi tidak pernah memulakan perlumbaan di kedudukan pertama dalam semua empat kemenangan yang diraih di Qatar sepanjang kariernya.

4 – Hanya empat pelumba yang berjaya muncul juara MotoGP selepas memenangi aksi pembukaan di GP Qatar sejak 12 tahun lalu (Stoner 2007 dan 2011, Lorenzo 2012 dan Marquez 2014).

3 – Maverick Vinales menjuarai GP Qatar musim 2016 dalam perlumbaan sulung bersama pasukan Yamaha. Bagaimanapun, pelumba berusia 24 tahun itu hanya memenangi tiga daripada 35 perlumbaan setakat ini.

1 – Marquez memperoleh hanya satu kemenangan daripada enam percubaan di GP Qatar setakat ini.

196 – Selepas persaraan Dani Pedrosa, Dovizioso kini menjadi pelumba dengan paling banyak penampilan (196) di MotoGP tanpa sebarang kejuaraan.

VIDEO: Marc Marquez Makes Music on the Honda X-Adv

Marc Marquez takes a spin on the Honda X-Adv while DJ Roger Wid records all the sounds.
The sounds were then turned into a techno song.
The Honda X-Adv became Europe’s best-selling motorcycle.

Just as Suzuki released the video of ex-GP rider Nobuatsu Aoki taking the new Suzuki Katana out for a spin, now Honda has MotoGP champion, Marc Marquez takes a ride on the Honda X-Adv and gets the sounds turned into music by DJ Roger Wid.

Every of Marquez’s move was recorded and turned into music, including zipping up his jacket, unlocking the bike, opening the seat to retrieve his signature Shoei helmet, flipping up the passenger footpegs.

The rider then proceeded to whip the bike into a smoky rolling burnout while it pirouettes around him, while sound technicians hold the microphones to the action.

At the end, all those sounds you and I have grown so familiar with on a daily basis were turned into techno music by the said DJ.

The X-Adv is powered by the 745cc twin-cylinder engine which is also fitted to the Honda NC750X. However, the X-Adv uses Honda’s proprietary Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The DCT is actually a manual gearbox without a clutch lever.

We’ve tested and reviewed the bike months ago and found it entertaining, although on the more expensive side. But here’s a bit of trivia, the Honda X-Adv became Europe’s best-selling motorcycle, even dethroning the might BMW R 1200 GS.

Ianya adalah ulang tahun ke-25 kerjasama antara Repsol dan Honda.
Beberapa buah ‘pengubahsuaian’ dapat dilihat pada jentera Jorge Lorenzo, kemasan grafik pada jentera 2019 kekal sama.

MotoGP 2019: Repsol Honda Unveils 2019 Bike

Repsol Honda unveils the bike for the MotoGP 2019 campaign.
It was the 25^thanniversary of Repsol and Honda’s partnership.
Some “modifications” are seen on Jorge Lorenzo’s bike, although the 2019 bike has the exact same livery.

For those waiting to see the 2019 Repsol Honda bike were surely disappointed as the livery remains unchanged.

Many had expected a new colour scheme as the Spanish petroleum giant and Honda celebrate the 25^thanniversary of their collaboration. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the stale same-ol’-same-ol’ stripes.

However, there seem to be a few notable differences on Jorge Lorenzo’s bike (pictured above).

Polished aluminium frame and swingarm.
The fuel tank is extended at the rear. Lorenzo prefers to push his weight further back.
An extended seat stop.
Both bikes sport larger aerobodies.

The launch was held at the Sentul circuit in Indonesia. Current riders Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo were joined by past Repsol Honda champions Mick Doohan and Alex Creville.

The Repsol-Honda partnership began in 1994 when Doohan won the first of his five world 500cc GP championship. Alex Creville won the 1999 championship when Doohan crashed heavily during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez and retired.

Of course, both current riders spewed team savvy answers about how happy they are with the team, how they are confident in winning, yada, yada, yada.

Marc Marquez will be in action at the shakedown test from 1^stto 3^rdFebruary prior to the first 2019 pre-season testing from 6^thto 8^thFebruary. Both tests will be held at the Sepang International Circuit.

Marc Marquez sedang menjalani tempoh pemulihan enam minggu selepas menjalani pembedahan pada bahu kirinya.
Pakar bedah MotoGP, Dr. Xavier Mir kagum dengan bagaimana penunggang berkenaan berjaya memenangi kejohanan dengan kecederaan pada bahu kirinya itu.
Sesi ujian pra musim HRC akan berlangsung dari 1 hingga 3 Februari 2019.

MotoGP Surgeon: “I don’t understand how Marquez won the title”

Marc Marquez is undergoing a six-week recovery after a surgery to his left shoulder.
MotoGP Surgeon, Dr. Xavier Mir was amazed at how the rider won the championship with his damaged shoulder.
The pre-season HRC shakedown run is from 1^stto 3^rdFebruary.

Marc Marquez had another crazy MotoGP season in 2018 but sealing the championship was what mattered most.

He then went a surgery to correct his left should which he first dislocated in 2013 after the post-season tests at Valencia and Jerez. Dr. Xavier Mir, MotoGP’s surgeon found that the damage required complex surgery to fix. Dr. Mir said after the surgery, “I do not understand how Marc was able to win the world title like that.”

Marquez is now working hard on the road towards full fitness as part of his six-week recovery plan. He needs to be in shape for the first 2019 HRC shakedown test from 1^stto 3^rdFebruary. The first official pre-season test (Winter Test) is from 6^thto 8^thFebruary. Both tests will be held at the Sepang International Circuit.

The 5-time World Champion is currently working with physiotherapist Carlo Garcia who is part of the Clinica Mobile medical team.

Marquez suffered recurring shoulder dislocation throughout 2018, including when Scott Redding congratulated him during the celebrations at Motegi.
