Kymco has pulled the wraps off its RKS 150 maxi-style scooter at the 2021 Beijing Internationa Motor Show.

The RKS 150 was propelled by the popularity of the recently launched S350 earlier this year.

Despite being a 150cc scooter, the overall look of the RSK 150 is comparable to that of a maxi-scooter, with a wide front fascia, tall windshield and plush seat.

It also comes with a complete LED light setup, including a DRL (daytime running light), fully digital LCD cluster, keyless ignition and a USB port.

The Kymco RKS 150 is powered by a Euro 5 certified 149cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine capable of producing 15hp @ 8,000rpm and 13.2Nm @ 6,500rpm.

The braking is done via dual-channel ABS paired to disc brakes at the front and rear.

According to reports, the RKS 150 will soon be available for the global market, including South East Asia.

KYMCO, a Taiwan-based motorcycle manufacturer known for its scooter lineup, has updated its biggest scooter available, the AK 500.

The AK 550 maintains the parallel-twin engine but now boasts Euro 5 compliance, making it on par with the famous Yamaha TMAX 560.

The motorcycle also received a revised exhaust system to meet the Euro 5 standards.

Although the AK 550 is 10cc lower than the TMAX, the engine produces a higher power, at 51hp and 55.6Nm compared to 47.5hp available on the Yamaha.

For 2021, the AK 550 also received modern electronics consist of a throttle-by-wire system that offers better finesse and control at low and high RPM.

Nevertheless, the AK 550 still maintain other goodies such as Brembo brakes, lightweight aluminium frame, upside-down fork and adjustable mono-shock.

The bad news is, the AK 550 is currently not available in Malaysia.

Made in Italy’,” jelas Shengfeng.

While most of us are still on the fence regarding the 2021 Kymco DT X360 adventure scooter, Kymco also introduced its first three-wheeler in the form of the 2021 Kymco CV3. Marketed as an ‘adventure tourer’, it positions itself as a maxi-scooter that can cover great distances with a luxurious riding experience. (more…)

Kymco introduced a bunch of new models and concepts yesterday at the 2020 Kymco “Time to Excite” presentation, and the one that we’ve been waiting for is the 2021 Kymco DT X360 adventure scooter, a model which offers similar riding prowess as the mighty Honda X-ADV, but at the fraction of the cost. Pengeluar motosikal Taiwan, KYMCO, julung kalinya memperkenalkan skuter adventure (ADV) menerusi DT X360.

The world of dual-purpose adventure scooter is dominated by the one and only Honda X-ADV. That title is currently unchallenged (and even more so with the 2021 model), but Kymco has something up its sleeves to bring the fight to the world’s biggest motorcycle manufacturer. Will they succeed? (more…)

  • The KYMCO RevoNEX was revealed at EICMA 2019.

  • It’s a high-performance electric motorcycle.

  • Features include a six-speed gearbox and traction control.

The KYMCO RevoNEX revealed at EICMA 2019 shows that scooter maker is stepping to the plate to bat.

Primarily a scooter maker, the company surprised everyone with the RevoNEX, a high-powered electric bike with some pretty high specifications.

Mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the electric motor pushes the bike from 0 -100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. It then continues to accelerate from 100 km/h to 200 km/h in 8.7 seconds.

But get this, it’s also fitted with launch control plus traction control.

KYMCO did not share more technical details, specially about the bike’s battery pack and motor. However, look closer at the photos and you will spot Öhlins suspension from and rear, plus radially-mounted Brembo monobloc brake calipers up front.

If the RevoNEX has better performance, it will then be a real challenger to other electric motorcycle brands like Zero and Lightning.

The manufacturer says the RevoNEX should be available from 2021.

While many of us are used to knowing KYMCO as a scooter maker, they have been building BMW Motorrad engines for many years now. Engines for the F 800-series now F 850-series and next year’s F 900-series besides the C 400 and C 650 engines are produced by them.

  • KYMCO launched the new XICITING S 400 at EICMA 2017.

  • The KYMCO XCITING S 400 features the best power in its class.

  • It will also have the first ECE-approved LED Daytime Running Lights for scooters.

Milan, Italy, 7th November 2017 – KYMCO has a good presence in Malaysia with their maxi scooters, but they also make motorcycles and ATVs. KYMCO has just added a new member to their family at EICMA 2017, called the XCITING S 400.

The KYMCO XCITING S 400 is the successor to the successful XCITING 400, which is renowned for its agile handling and the best horsepower in its class, apart from its smooth and quiet power delivery. The XCITING S 400 is designed in KYMCO’s “Win My Heart” spirit to surpass all that. KYMCO claims that it meets the stringent demands of riders seeking the best “sport touring scooter.”

The design of the new XCITING S 400 is built upon the “Powerful Simplicity” philosophy, combining the riding comfort and high-speed stability, perfect for the city commute and weekend excursions.

The new bike features the industry’s first ECE-approved Daytime Running Light for scooters to provide maximum visibility to other motorists, besides highlighting its identity.

The smoothly powerful engine produces 35.5 bhp (26.5 kW) and 37.7 Nm of torque. It guarantees responsive acceleration in urban traffic and high speed sprints.

Having a powerful engine also requires features to harness the power. KYMCO redesigned the hanger axle for a more rigid mounting point for the engine to the frame. The double bridge front suspension also increases rigiditiy. All these features add up to a maneuverable yet stable motorcycle.

There’s further proof of KYMCO’s desire to make the XCITING S 400 more accommodating.

The front seat tapers for easy feet placement during stops. The rear seat has a backrest to support the passenger. Instead of opening the entire seat to access the storage compartment underneath, the XCITING S 400 features a unique two-seat opening design. The windscreen is adjustable to accommodate different physiques and riding conditions. The handlebar is V-shaped to allow better line of view to the instrument cluster while riding.

KYMCO is also looking forward to adding the newly developed Noodoe Navigation feature upon the release of the XCITING S 400 next year. What distinguishes Noodoe Navigation from the rest is that it’s the world’s first rider-centric navigation system. Noodoe Navigation will be formally launced at the Tokyo Motorcycle show in March 2018.
