Some folks have been arguing that the latest WorldSBK reverse grid format has not been working out as well as they had hoped it would be.

The plan was to get the podium finishers of Race 1 to start in reverse order from the third row in hopes that they would other riders and teams a fighting chance was doomed from the beginning.

Almost 94% of the podium finishes so far has been filled by Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes from Kawasaki Racing Team together with Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri from Aruba.it Racing – Ducati.

According to a recent report made by MCN, the big guns over at WorldSBK are seriously contemplating on whether to scrap the reverse grid system which was introduced into the race series earlier this year. It seems that the format is not working out as well as they had hoped for. (more…)

Renowned Japanese motorcycling magazine has released a rendered image of what has been claimed to be the new 2018 Kawasaki Z900RS retro bike.

The new retro bike from Kawasaki is rumoured to be powered by the same engine found on the 2017 Kawasaki Z900 ABS with styling inspirations from the legendary Kawasaki Z1.

The only current retro bike offered by Kawasaki is the W800 which is basic and slightly bland for some folks but the Z900RS looks like it can be a possible game changer in the modern retro bike category.

According to well-known Japanese motorcycling magazine AutoBy, they have tastefully rendered what looks like the 2018 Kawasaki Z900RS retro bike from the Japanese Team Green. The question floating in everyone’s minds is whether this is just another prediction that’ll flop or if it is indeed legitimate leaked images of Kawasaki’s latest retro bike which is based on the manic 2017 Kawasaki Z900 ABS. Based on a few reliable sources, more supercharged Kawasaki motorcycles will emerged in 2018 to follow up with the success of the Kawasaki H2 and H2R.

Following rumours mainly fuelled by images rendered by Young Machine, the possibility of seeing more than one forced induction bikes from Team Green is higher than we think.

So far, 2018 is looking at either the Kawasaki R2, S2 or H2 GT with the R2 being rumoured to be a middleweight supercharged bike with the ZX-6R styling.

Ever since the revival of the manic forced induction Kawasaki H2 and H2R as the world’s first ever production supercharged motorcycle, there has been a lot more news and rumours pointing towards the possibility of more supercharged machineries coming out from the giant green Japanese manufacturer. The slipper clutch has been around for years now and manufacturers are starting to incorporate them into their modern day motorcycles.

What was once a tool to make a track or race bike go faster around corners, the technology has been added to road bikes by elevating their advantages especially comfort and overall feel.

Manufacturers like Kawasaki have invested heavily on developing their slipper clutch technology and it’s clear how today’s bikes offer higher levels of riding comfort without sacrificing any of the fun or excitement.

According to latest reports, Harley-Davidson has been rumoured to make a bid to buy over Ducati from Volkswagen Group.

Volkwagen has been planning to liquidate some of their major assets including Ducati ever since the great emissions scandal back in 2015.

The biddings to purchase Ducati has been set at €1.5 billion (around RM7.2 billion) in which VW will start accepting bids from potential owners starting July.

According to a recent report made by Reuters, the latest high profile name that has been thrown in to bid over as the new owner of Ducati is none other than Harley-Davidson. Ever since Volkswagen Group has been slapped in the face with the emissions cheating drama, they’ve been looking into liquidating some of their assets and Ducati falls in that very list for sale. During the first race of the WorldSBK Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round in Misano, the intense race concluded with Tom Sykes, Alex Lowes and Jonathan Rea crossing the finish line.

During the final lap, Chaz Davies, Jonathan Rea and Marco Melandri who were leading the race before Melandri crashed out halfway through the lap.

Davies suffered the same front tyre wash out but Rea wasn’t able to avoid him and ran over the 30 year old Brit with his Kawasaki ZX-10RR.

During the WorldSBK Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round which ran its course at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”, it was a weekend filled with drama and action for the race series that’s probably one the climatic points in the Superbike World Championship races. (more…)

The second WorldSBK race in Misano saw an amazing first race victory for Marco Melandri (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) since 2014 in front of his home crowd.

Starting from tenth, Melandri picked up his pace to cross the finish line first ahead of Kawasaki riders, Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes.

Chaz Davies was deemed unfit to compete in Race 2 due to extensive injuries sustained in the unfortunate Race 1 incident between him and Rea while fighting for the win.

It was a fairytale comeback for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati rider Marco Melandri as he snatched his first ever WorldSBK victory since 2014. The victory was sweeter due to the fact that it was Melandri’s home race in front of his home fans at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” for the second race of the WorldSBK Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round yesterday. The first race of the WorldSBK Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round held at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” saw Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) crossing the line in first place in the final lap drama.

All three front runners who are Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) and Marco Melandri crashed out in the final lap of the race.

Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team) secured second followed by Rea who managed to salvage the final podium spot after the huge collision with Davies.

It was an epic win for Kawasaki Racing Team rider Tom Sykes who miraculously crossed the finished line in first place during the first race of the Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round held at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”. It was an amazing win considering that he was in fourth at the beginning of the final lap with a significant gap between Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team), Chaz Davies and his Aruba.it Racing Ducati team mate, Marco Melandri. The 2017 Kawasaki Versys-X 250 gets some beautiful upgrades from highly-renowned aftermarket product manufacturer, Yoshimura.

They’ve come up with a brand new Yoshimura R-77 exhaust system that is 1.8kg lighter and also will help increase the bike’s overall torque and power.

Yoshimura also came up with a new Fender Eliminator Kit just for the 2017 Versys-X 250/300 to give it a sleeker yet racing appeal.

Kawasaki achieved one of the biggest milestones in the last round of WorldSBK where they scored a total of 100 wins in the racing series.

Both Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes from the Kawasaki Racing Team contributed to the 100th win at Donington Park where they dominated Race 1 and Race 2.

The feat was done on board Kawasaki’s ultimate track weapon, the outstanding Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR.

During the last WorldSBK round at Donington Park during the sixth PATA UK Round, the Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) created history by achieving their 100th win the Superbikes World Championship.
