When Trick Star Racing got their hands on a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R, they knew that the 250cc inline-four machine could do so much more with just a minimum number of upgrades. With the help of their ARRC rider, Tahakiro Yamamoto, they took out the modified version onto the Fuji Speedway to see what the bike is capable of. (more…)

After months of anticipation, the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R has finally been launched in Indonesia. Due to all the COVID-19 commotion, the production model has been pushed to 2021 instead of 2020 but as they say, better late than never (hopefully not too late for it to come to Malaysia, though). The world has been waiting for the arrival of the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R at their respective showrooms but Indonesia is one step ahead as they’ve announced the official launch date which is on July 10th, 2020. (more…)

  • The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R garnered lots of positive response since its introduction at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show.

  • Kawasaki Indonesia shows the way in upgrading it for track duty.

  • The video shows how they did it.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R garnered lots of positive response since its introduction at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show.

We can’t see why not: a screaming 250cc, DOHC, 16-valve, inline-Four engine, upside down forks, quickshifter, etc. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a 250cc inline-Four, so the bike would most probably still get plenty of interest just for the engine without everything else.

But Kawasaki Indonesia is taking it a few steps further, by creating a track weapon out of the bike.

First off, the bodywork’s replaced with an all-carbon fibre set by A-Tech Japan. Look closer and you’ll see that the frame and subframe are carbon too! The body is then given the “mesh” graphic, first seen on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-RR MotoGP bike. The tail definitely looks similar to the Ninja ZX-6R and Ninja ZX-10R.

The metallic orange coloured footpegs are hard to miss, too.

But we think there’s still more to come, as they have not touched the suspension, brakes, ECU, engine and exhaust system. It’ll also be interesting to see what they would do to the bike’s rider aid electronics and such.

Will we see this kind of effort in Malaysia when the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R makes it here? You betcha!

There’s no denying that Kawasaki Indonesia has been strongly promoting their upcoming 250cc sports bike, the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R. After countless of videos on YouTube, the last three clips showcased some very enticing performance upgrades for the 250cc four-cylinder sports bike. (more…)

Kawasaki Indonesia has been teasing the crap out of everyone with short clips revolving around the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R. The latest that was posted regarding the re-emergence of the legendary and iconic 250cc inline-four sports bike is probably the most exciting of them all; the sound of the engine revving through the gears.

  • The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R was revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show.

  • It’s the return of a 250cc inline-Four.

  • The bike is full of great stuff like a quickshifter.

Finally! As promised, the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R inline-Four sportbike was revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Yes, the 250cc inline-Four returns after years of going the parallel-Twin route.

But it isn’t just a case of sticking a new engine into a frame and enclosing it in the Ninja 400’s bodywork. No no, this bike is packed with goodies that you’d only find on bigger bikes.

Where do we start…?

Okay, the engine first. The 249cc, 16-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled inline-Four is said to be tuned for low- to mid-range torque, while possessing high-end power. The intake and exhaust were also tuned for the exhaust note characteristics of Kawasaki’s inline-Fours. The performance figures were not revealed yet, however.

Over to the chassis, the frame is a steel trellis instead of the usual steel backbone or perimeter type common to the class. Kawasaki says that it was “designed using dynamic rigidity analysis.” Could that means tuned rigidity?

The suspension is high grade. The forks are SFF-BP (separate function forks – Big Piston) presumably from Showa. The Ninja ZX-25R will be the first 250cc bike to utilise them. The rear suspension uses the company’s Horizontal Back-link set up. Braking is handled by radial-mounted a monobloc caliper up front.

But here’s the best part: Besides the KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) and Power Mode selector, the bike comes with… drum roll… KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter).

No word on its pricing yet, but hope you enjoy these two videos.

  • The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R looks confirmed for the Indonesian market.

  • It will feature a new 250cc inline-Four engine.

  • It may also be the most powerful 250cc four-stroke sportbike.

The rumours of a 250cc inline-Four Kawasaki sportbike has been gaining steam over the past months, but now it’s confirmed for the Indonesian market and called the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R.

The present two-cylinder 250-, 300- and 400cc parallel-Twins are relatively new platforms for Kawasaki. The manufacturer had favoured four-cylinder engines for the longest time, up to the ZXR-250 in the late 1990’s.

The ZX-25R ought to be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in October.

Further rumours say that the new engine will produce 59 hp, which ranks it above all other current 250cc bikes in the market. However, do expect to see that gain in the upper realms of the rev range. We can expect a screamer since each cylinder is just bigger than 70cc.

The question now is how much the bike cost in the Asian market will. As for us in Malaysia, it’s also a matter if and when the model will make to our shores. It’s already got a number of points that Malaysian motorcyclists will like i.e. Not needing to upgrade their license to “Full B,” for one. Besides that, we gather, there are many fans of the inline-Four’s exhaust note, compared to that of a parallel-Twin’s.
