Honda has once again received recognition for its excellent designs, winning two Red Dot Design Awards for its 2023 motorcycles.

The Honda CB750 Hornet and Honda XL750 Transalp were both awarded for their exceptional design, expanding Honda’s range in the naked and adventure categories with new middleweight offerings.

Honda looked to its past for inspiration for both of these new motorcycle models, reviving the iconic Hornet and Transalp names, which carry cultural weight from the brand’s history. Both models feature a new 755cc parallel-twin-cylinder engine that promises excellent performance.

These awards follow on from Honda’s previous Red Dot Design Award-winning motorcycles, including the Honda ADV350 scooter, Honda NT1100 tourer, Honda Forza 750, and Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. Honda has won multiple Red Dot Design Awards in the Product Design category for four years in a row now, across its automobile and motorcycle product ranges.

Toshinobu Minami, Chief Operating Officer, Design Center, Honda R&D Co., expressed his happiness on this achievement, stating, “We believe in a unique human-centred approach to design and usability, and it is gratifying to see that focus reflected in the continued recognition for Honda at the Red Dot Design Awards.”

Meanwhile, Honda also won Red Dot Design Awards for the 2023 Honda Civic Type-R and 2023 Honda Civic e:HEV cars, showcasing the company’s continued commitment to innovation and exceptional design. With these wins, Honda has cemented its reputation as a company that values both performance and aesthetics.

Umum sedia maklum bahawa Honda akan memperkenalkan motosikal ‘adventure’ kelas pertengahan menerusi Honda XL750 Transalp.

Laporan sulung mengenai motosikal ADV itu telah pun diterbitkan majalah Jepun, Young Machine pada November 2020.

Ogos lalu, Honda telah pun memfailkan tanda nama XL750 Transalp di beberapa negara sekaligus mengesahkan kedatangan model serba baharu itu untuk pasaran dunia.

Tatkala tarikh pelancaran semakin hampir, dengan pameran motosikal EICMA 2022 di Milan akan berlangsung pada November ini, Honda kini sibuk menjalankan penggambaran motosikal tersebut.

Sesi penggambaran pastinya cukup sukar bagi sebarang pengeluar bagi memastikan produk yang akan dilancarkan itu kekal rahsia.

Bagaimanapun, sebuah akaun Instagram, @maxxmoto.be berjaya merakam imej jelas Honda XL750 Transalp yang sedang menjalani penggambaran.

Walaupun tindakan itu pastinya mencetuskan kemarahan Honda namun gambar pertama itu tentunya mengundang gembira peminat motosikal Jepun itu.

Menariknya, rupa sebenar Transalp itu mirip imej ‘render’.yang pernah dikongsikan Young Machine sebelum ini.

Selain itu, Transalp tersebut menampilkan pilihan warna HRC dengan gabungan warna merah, putih dan biru, menyamai warna yang terdapat pada Transalp 1987.

Meskipun info terperinci masih lagi belum dikenal pasti namun seperti yang didedahkan sebelum ini, Honda XL750 Translap akan dikuasakan enjin parallel-twin 750cc serba baharu yang dibangunkan Honda.

Selain Transalp, enjin tersebut turut akan menggerakan Hornet 750, Hawk 75 dan CBR750RR.

Bagaimanapun, Honda dijadualkan akan melancarkan Hornet 750 terlebih dahulu sebelum beralih kepada Transalp 750. 

Selepas hampir setahun khabar angin mengenai Transalp 750 dibangkitkan, rupa lebih jelas motosikal itu akhirnya didedahkan.

Majalah penerbitan Jepun, Young-Machine, sekali lagi berjaya mendapatkan imej jelas Transalp 2022 itu yang dijangka akan diperkenalkan kepada umum hujung tahun ini di EICMA 2021.

Meskipun Honda mengunci mulut mengenai model baharu tersebut, namun itu tidak menghalang Young-Machine untuk membuat pendedahan lebih awal.

Walaupun info mengenai motosikal baharu itu masih belum jelas, namun berdasarkan laporan sebelum ini, Transalp 2022 ini bakal tampil dengan enjin parallel-twin 750cc yang sama diguna pakai pada NC750X.

Bukan itu sahaja, Honda juga dijangka memperkenalkan dua jenis transmisi, manual dan DCT (dual-clutch transmission).

Berdasarkan imej tersebut, Transalp akan meneruskan DNA model terdahulu, mengekalkan elemen ‘adventure’ yang lebih agresif antaranya rim jenis spoke (lidi) dan suspensi dengan perjalanan yang lebih panjang.

Apa pun, Honda dijangkakan mendedahkan Transalp 750 2022 ini di Milan pada November ini.

A strong rumour is making its rounds in Japan that Honda is finally preparing to launch an all-new Transalp.

Using a newly developed 755cc parallel-twin, the Transalp will be Honda’s first mid-segment adventure bike with genuine off-road capabilities.

Honda also rumoured to introduce another model with the same motor dubbed the CB750S, which we will get into later.

We rarely take any rumour a serious consideration; however, since the claim was made by Japanese publication Young-Machine, everyone in the industry knows that this is as real as it gets.

The Japanese marquee already applied for the Transalp trademark worldwide, including Malaysia, meaning we might get the chance to see the all-new Transalp here soon.

The previous report suggests that the Transalp will run the same parallel-twin motor from the existing NC750; however, the latest updates suggest this is not the case.

Instead, it could be powered by an entirely different engine, tuned not just for performance but also off-road capabilities.

Nonetheless, it remains unknown when Honda is planning to unveil the Transalp, but we might not have to wait for too long, considering the 2021 EICMA is happening in a few months.

The most extensive motorcycle exhibition in the world could be the best platform for the new Transalp to make its appearance.

Last year, Young Machine claimed that Honda is planning to revive the Transalp to compete in the middleweight adventure segment against BMW F 850 GS, KTM 890 Adventure and the Yamaha Tenere 700.

Fast forward to March 2021, Honda reportedly registered the Transalp nameplate in the United States, thus confirming the rumours by the Japanese publication.

Then again, this is Young Machine, and surprisingly they rarely found themselves on the ‘wrong side of the fence.

Latest reports now suggest the Japanese manufacturer will reveal the all-new Transalp at EICMA 2021.

Considering the Transalp could be the game-changer for Honda in the middleweight adventure segment, choosing EICMA as the platform for the official unveiling is a no brainer.

Despite no further details, the Transalp will likely receive the same 750cc engine found on the NC750X.

Meanwhile, Honda has confirmed its participation at the 2021 EICMA taking place in November 2021.

Honda sah akan kembalikan Transalp setelah memfailkan tanda dagangan (trademark) di Amerika Syarikat.

Transalp dijangka akan memberi saingan terhadap motosikal adventure segmen pertengahan (middleweight) yang ketika ini dibarisi BMW F 850 GS, KTM 790 Adventure dan Yamaha Tenere 700.

Nama Transalp kembali timbul apabila media Jepun, Young-Machine mendakwa Honda bakal menghidupkan semula motosikal itu tahun ini.

Difahamkan, Transalp merupakan satu daripada tiga motosikal yang akan diperkenalkan Honda dengan enjin parallel-twin NC750 manakala dua daripadanya membabitkan sebuah motosikal jenis scrambler dan naked.

Bagaimanapun, berbanding Honda CB500X dan NC750X, Transalp dijangka menawarkan ciri ADV setanding dengan pesaing lain dalam segmen tersebut.

Timbul dakwaan bahawa Honda bakal kembalikan Transalp dengan enjin sama yang digunakan pada NC750.

Menurut laporan media Jepun, Young Machine, pengeluar motosikal Jepun itu bakal memperkenalkan semula Transalp bersama-sama model baharu, CB1100X.

Difahamkan, Transalp merupakan satu daripada tiga motosikal yang akan diperkenalkan Honda dengan enjin NC750 manakala dua daripadanya membabitkan sebuah motosikal jenis scrambler dan naked.

Sekiranya dakwaan ini benar – Young Machine jarang laporkan khabar angin tanpa isi – ketiga-tiga motosikal ini merupakan model serba baharu yang tidak pernah lagi diperkenalkan Honda sebelum ini.

Sementara itu, Young Machine turut melaporkan bahawa Honda bakal memperkenalkan motosikal sport-touring menerusi CB1100X.

Meskipun direka berdasarkan jentera konsep CB4X yang diperkenalkan di EICMA tahun lalu namun difahamkan jentera ini akan didatangkan dengan enjin sama yang terdapat pada CRF1100L Africa Twin berbanding 4-inline seperti yang dicanang sebelum ini.

Apa yang pasti Honda dilihat memberi penekanan terhadap penggunaan transmisi DCT (dual clutch transmission) bagi dua model ini.
